All I could hear was the huffing of my breath and cloud juice. My sister cold hand held in mine as I drag her away from the awful quarantine zone. the night after last night was the moonlit hours, the moonlit hours we had been planning for months. The masking of the darkness hid us from sight, as the cloud juice hid our movements. This was probably the most dangerous thing we have done, but if we make it out alive… I'll be free. Abby struggled to keep up with my pace, but not for a moment did I slow down, she had to push herself, for the both of us. Light scanned the moonlit hours as the army looked for anyone out passed curfew. "Abby, you have to keep up." I urged her to continue, but she still slowed. "Riley, you're going to fast." The hateful words I keep down started to bottle up, till I heard my father's voice, he was like a ghost that kept haunting me. As much I hate to feel it… I just don't feel bad. Am I an awful person, someone who is cruel? The answer would have to be yes, but she made me this way. With a quick yank I pulled Abby closer, so close she could clearly see my peepers even in the moonlit hours. "We have to keep going. Or do you want to be the one that gets us killed." I wanted to shout, my mind stopped me before I could. With a sorrowful face she shook her head and we continued. With me tracking the guards for months, stealing a map, I made a plan. The north end is the least guarded, both during the day and moonlit hours. It was just a few minutes till the guards switched, that was our moment. Once we made it to the north wall, I made sure to stay stealthy, invisible. I hear a bit of talking as the new guards came in, though I didn't care to listen. I had one thing on my mind, get out of here and trek the few miles to the farmhouse. I'd been there a few times when my dad took me hunting. It had already been abandoned at that point. Near the north wall is where they kept their shipping containers, easy enough to climb and jump over. "You have to go ahead of me. If they find us you'd stand no chance against them." Abby just nodded and quickly made her way over. I was thankful for the ladders on the side, because if they weren't there, no matter how strong I am, I would not be able to lift her due to being 3 months pregnant. Thankfully enough she made it over with no problems. Just for safe measures I brought an empty can along. With one swift moment I threw it through an open see-through wall in the wear house. "Hey, did you hear that?" One guard said to the other. And just as I planned, they fell for the bait. Next it was my turn to climb. The ladder was a bit slippery due to the cloud juice, but it was easy enough to get over. "We're out." A spark of hope lit inside me, but I didn't let that stop me from grabbing Abby's hand and dragging her away.
(My writing is a bit rusty, but hopefully it will get better with time.)
Pollux tugged his scarf up over his face again. His consuming oxygen to produce carbon dioxide was a bit heavy from all the running, but he was fine. Very shaken, but fine. He would have thought seeing someone die in front of him- even the most important person to him- would have shaken him up more, or maybe evoked some kind of real emotion. He had always thought it would take some sort of grand trauma to shock him into having feelings, but there wasn't much there still.
There were traces of human syrup on Pollux's clothes and face, and while he usually would've preferred to get them off, he was more set on making it to the quarantine zone.
They had been so close to making it together, but now he had to finish off that journey alone.
Pollux trudged ahead through the mud, carefully minding where he walked so he wouldn't slip. Up ahead, he could see two figures running his way- humans for sure. Running away from the direction of the quarantine zone?
He raised his hand up and waved, not wanting to walk towards them and scare them, but also not wanting to shout and draw any unwanted attention.
(Bump?)
Addilyn was stuck, she didn't know what to do. Her aunt disappeared and she was alone. She didn't hear much of the news because her power went off a few days ago and she didn't really know what was going on and she didn't know what to do. But from what she heard, it was complete chaos out there and she felt safe inside her home, but she knew it wouldn't stay that way for long. After many days of contemplating what to do she decided to head for the quarantine zone in the morning because she knew she would be safer there. The next bright morning she woke up, she didn't really have a plan but she decided to take her bright pink bike that she has not ridden in about 4 orbit parties to the quarantine zone because other wise it would take a lot longer on groundhand. She packed a bag and headed to her garage, she grabbed her bike and thought about what she had heard on the news and decided to grab her dads old axe and keep that with her. She slowly opened the wobbly flip-shutter and was blinded by the sun, once her peepers readjusted she got on her bike and rode off. (hopefully you think thats good xD)
(also sorry I have been very busy with school work)
Michael finally stopped to consume oxygen to produce carbon dioxide on top of a building. He had ripped his hoodie sleeves to stop the bleeding from a gash on his leg from tripping into some scrap metal. He knew he'd have to climb down to get medicine to treat it properly, but he was just so tired from running. He missed his family and pleaded for a friend. His stomach grumbled but he sighed it off, he needed a second. he was still holding onto the metal pole from the junk yard hoping he'd be able to use it instead of his machete which needed to be fixed a little bit. He closed his weary peepers and tried to slow his consuming oxygen to produce carbon dioxide. He had just been avoiding everyone and everything. He wanted to find other humans, but he was weary. He remembers how his friends had looked fine before they had tried to kill him. He stuck to high places when needing a break, and tried to avoid too much sound, that was until a few minutes ago when he accidentally set off a motorized rollingham alarm in a junkyard causing a chase. He didn't know where he was. Michael just hoped he wouldn't be alone anymore, and he could finally get some decent sleep. He imagined if any other humans were out there, they'd be tired too. He pleaded he would hopefully find at least one other person to trust. And that's when he looked over the edge of the building and saw three figures, two women and a male. He watched their interaction, he needed to see if they were friendly and human, only then would he call for their help.
(Sorry I haven't been on. I've been sick and with Christmas around the corner it's been a bit difficult. Just wanted to update you. I won't be on today. It's my grandpa's birthday and he passed away earlier this orbit party. So I won't be on today.)
As soon as Abby heard a voice she stopped in her tracks. A person? Maybe they need help? Abby tried to let go of Riley's hand, but she only held it tighter. "Don't we can't trust him." Humans were just as bad as Zombies, maybe even worse. Riley just wanted to get to the farm house where the only thing she cared about was, her barky zoom-bean. She worried that she could be starving or worse. "We need to go. We don't have time for this. Before Riley could even take a step, she heard shouts in the background. Army. At this point she didn't care what Abby thought. With one tug she began to run. "If you want to live, I wouldn't go there!" That was all Riley was willing to give the guy. Whether he listened or not, well that wasn't her concern. The mud started to get more slippery as the entered the forest. This was not the way she was planning to go, but it was the best place to hide if the Army began to chase. There was also the zombie concern, they could be hiding here as well. And with the mud and cloud juice, she would have to be more careful and cognizant.
Pollux's gaze hardened.
"What's going on?" he hissed, keeping his voice low in case anyone else was within earshot, "Did the quarantine zone get overtaken?"
He kept pace with the other two, but it was clear he was tired. He hadn't been able to rest after everything had happened. He was too focused on making it to his destination alive to stop.
Pollux asked, "Do you know where you're going?"
Addilyn continued on her journey to the quarantine zone, it was taking way longer then she thought it would. She was cutting across a parking lot when a motorized rollingham horn went off that made her jump. She looked around to see who was the cause of the motorized rollingham alarm. But she saw no one, she realized the sun was going down very fast. She thought to herself where can I stay the moonlit hours, I don't even really know what is around her either. But then across the parking lot she saw a little shop that looked abandoned. She decided she would go check it out and see if it was safe because she was wabbit knackered.
Michael had accidentally fallen asleep on the roof of the building, mostly he passed out from the pain med he had taken to try and get the pain to subside. He woke up sore from a nightmare, and saw it was getting dark. he swore under his breath as he tried to stand. His entire body was sore but his leg hurt so much. He steadied himself with the metal pole and made his way to the emergency exit to climb down to the ground floor. He had to move to a new spot, he couldn't get stuck up there all moonlit hours, he needed to find some mandatory sustenance (like cheetos). He opened the wobbly flip-shutter and it creaked. He prayed he would be fine without getting attacked. He slowly began the climb down the broken escalator.
