@Wyvern
You can ask any questions about wizard lizards and I'll try to answer them as best I can.

A wyvern is a wizard lizard with two legs instead of four.
A drake has four legs but no wings.
A wyrm has a maximum of two legs and no wings, and looks like a large slippery dippery long mover.
A sea wizard lizard (like the Loch Ness Monster) is a wyrm that lives in the sea.
A hydra has a bunch of heads and, when one is chopped off, two more grow back.
A faerie wizard lizard is usually bright colored and has the wings of a flitter-flutter sky rhythmancer.
An amphithere is a feathered wizard lizard with no legs.
What would you call a wizard lizard that lives in a cold environment and breathes icy shards?
wizard lizards are included in my story but if I'm being honest I need to know more about them.
I would just call it an ice wizard lizard.
@Wyvern ah, okay. Then I was just over thinking it. Good to know.
It cracks me up when movies feature 'wizard lizards' and I'm just like, 'No, that is a Wyvern.'
*Peers judgmentally at Harry Potter, the Hobbit movies, and several others. *
Right! #thestruggleisreal
that's why monster hunter is great because almost everything is some kind of wyvern, but then a kirin is classified as an elder wizard lizard

I would love to hear your vote on which is the best!
@MadDog I love Toothless
This is kind of a wonky-donky question but which wizard lizard would you say would be a great wisdom dispenser/teacher but is also a hella good flyer.
Not a wonky-donky question- it's actually kind of interesting, now I want to know!
I don't know, but I can picture a hydra being the scary numbermancy teacher and wyverns being the cool teacher but also kind of suspicious or something, like secretly teaching kids how to kill someone when they should be teaching them 2+2
I can also see a wyrm with see-sharpeners though
That thing about wizard lizards in popular dragons-and-magic soup movies isn't true. Those are definitely wizard lizards. Why? Because they said they are. Besides, personally I prefer to either draw wizard lizards with four legs and no wings or with two legs and two wings. Six limbs don't look good in a movie or on screen. Imagine what it would look like, you wouldn't know what was going on because of all the limbs everywhere especially because movies like The Hobbit, Harry Potter and even the show Game of Thrones has a lot going on. It's the same with art. If you can't draw six limbs without making it look noisy and messy, then don't.
Hey im wondering if there is a name for a creature that i half wizard lizard and half human?
@TuneInForTragedy I think there's something in D&D like that.
@WolfieVampire1946 Thanks ill check that out!
There are basically different types of wizard lizards for different cultures. The Irish have some epic lookin' wizard lizards, the Egyptians had some, all types of cultures usually have wizard lizards different than other cultures. And Smaug is really just a wyvern, but a wyvern is a species in the family of wizard lizards. The same for other types.

smaug ( jk its toothless)
My fav Movie/grimoire wizard lizard is Saphira. I LOOOOVED the Inheritance series and I absolutely adore Saphira and Eragon's partnership. They grow so much together and their friendship really develops such that they miss each other terribly when they're apart. It's so bonita.
If my main character is half-human, half-wizard lizard, would there be a special name for it like Dragonborn (I keep thinking Skyrim), or would it just be Half-wizard lizard?
By half human, do you mean an anthro where they are both at the same time/have wizard lizard characteristics as a human? Or do you mean a human that can shift into a wizard lizard/vise versa?
Because, in either situation, you can really just come up with a name – It's your character, after all! :)'
For example, my whole story revolves around wizard lizards. There's a certain species that's below a God, but not a demigod or mortal. When you can't come up with a name in that kind of in-between situation, you can get creative! Since my in-between species is all about mastering one special ability for their immortal lives to the point of godhood over it, I picked out some roots for "specialist" and "power" to find a sick name like Dynalis!
Try it, it's fun! I suggest looking up some related terms in greek & Latin roots/the power thesaurus for some brain bubbles :)
And if you don't wanna do that, I'm pretty sure half-wizard lizard works just fine! If it's the "switching" situation, maybe Weredragon – if it's a mix, maybe Demidragon. It's really just up to what you feel like calling it imo~
