Flamepaw flinched. Not again… He thought, sighing. "Yes sir…" He said, yawning. "Why'd you have to be my mentor…" He mumbled while following behind him. His stomach growled but he had to ignore it or else he'd be in trouble.

Rainfrost flicked his tail as they entered the training hollow, Scorchfeather had her apprentice, Cloudypaw (should've done this earlier - Cloudypaw is a small fluffy silver she-cat) on her back. Cloudypaw was trying to kick Scorchfeather off of her but Scorchfeather just sighed and got off by herself. Rainfrost could hear Scorchfeather mutter to the small silver molly. "you can do better, Cloudypaw. you're hesitating to push me off!" The ginger she-cat mewed. Rainfrost flicked his tail. "sorry we're late….Flamepaw was also late." Scorchfeather looked over at Rainfrost and growled, as she ran at him and bowled into him. She threw the tom onto the ground and pinned him. Rainfrost yowled as his back his solid ground and kicked up at the ginger she-cat, hitting her straight in the stomach. Rainfrost glared at his mate and unsheathed his claws. "you rat!" he didn't hesitate to run back at her and scratched her cheek, Scorchfeather returned the hit and scratched him on the shoulder, reopening an old wound and then kicked him off and behind her. Rainfrost gave a half-yelp half-growl and crumpled to the ground. Rainfrost coughed as air rushed out of his lungs and his shoulder burned. "f-fox-dung!" he growled through gritted teeth as he stumbled to his paws. "Don't keep me waiting." Scorchfeather snapped. "I had to practice with Cloudypaw for StarClan's sake!" she lashed her long tail. "s-sorry about th-" a cough caught him off but he finished his sentence "t-that…" "you better. now come one. Flamepaw and Cloudypaw need to train now…"

Flamepaw had closed his eyes as this happened. Why…Did Whitestar Make my mentor Rainfrost…Out of everycat… He thought, sighing. "Yes, sir." He opened his eyes and jolted up. Why did this always happen with Flamepaw and his mentor? He growled, slightly and quietly at Rainfrost, walking to Cloudypaw, Ready for a training fight.

Cloudypaw swallowed as she stepped up to fight Flamepaw. He was older than she was, and bigger. And from what she had heard from other apprentices, faster and stronger. She was scared, she didn't care that Scorchfeather's reaction to Cloudypaw's previous fears of heights and dogs was to push her down a ledge and to lead her in front of a twoleg place dog. She was scared.

She unsheathed her claws and tried to ignore her shaking legs. Scorchfeather always told her to go all out in training, and that meant unsheathed claws.

Rainfrost stumbled to his paws, "don't worry abou–" no! no…..don't act weak! that makes you a target! you don't need others to worry! you worry only about yourself.. he shut his eyes shut and sighed, "a-alright–" she cleared his throat "Alright. Now–" "Shut it." Scorchfeather growled. Rainfrost looked over at the ginger she-cat but shut up. "now. Flamepaw and Cloudypaw. you two are going to fight. no just any fight though. you two are going to fight. Claw unsheathed." Rainfrost flicked his unsurprisingly torn ear. "i was going to say that, y'know." "yeah well, you sound like a newly made apprentice when you speak so shut it, Rainpaw." Rainfrost opened his maw to growl something back but he just shut him maw. "Alright….3…" Rainfrost watched Flamepaw carefully. "…2…" the tension in the air was thicker than fog. "….1…..go."

this is somewhat okay– sorry if i misspelled words or sentences don't make sense– i've had this idea for a while and when Dragon asked it make my brain start up again qwq ))

Alright so, it's kinda all Whitestar's fault unsurprisingly. Whitestar saw Scorchfeather and asked Rainfrost if he thought she was pretty, ect. When Rainfrost said that he found her very pretty. Whitestar immediately began to manipulate her and told things that could never happen, one of those things being that'd Whitestar'd make her deputy and then, she'd be the next leader. Scorchfeather was already a bit of rebel so Whitestar's grooming made it much, much worse.
Now back to the 'being mates' part – Whitestar forced Rainfrost and Scorchfeather to get together, Rainfrost didn't hesitate to get with Scorchfeather because he was terrified of his father would do, and Scorchfeather kinda just gritted her teeth and bared it, because she thought it she got and stayed with Rainfrost, Fawnleg would either be replaced by her or would just be….gone one day and Whitestar would make her the new deputy! Whitestar was her leader and every cat trusted him…right?
At first, Rainfrost and her were kinda, just there. But soon they began to like eachother. Whitestar noticed and he was genuinely surprised because didn't think it'd actually happen! He never thought the two of them would actual fall in love! So, he began to train the two, using illegal battle moves and filling the two with hate for one another. He would start with Scorchfeather, telling small lies always starting with, "I heard Rainfrost said…." and "Don't tell Rainfrost I said this to you!" Scorchfeather began to believe these lies and instead of liking Rainfrost, she began to despise him with a burning passion. Whitestar knew his planned has worked when Rainfrost came up to him to ask why Scorchfeather was ignoring him. Whitestar then repeated the same process he did with Scorchfeather, saying the same things starting with, "Scorchfeather told me that she…." and "Scorchfeather keeps telling me that…." Whitestar only watched as each training session got more, and more aggressive. So aggressive that Whitestar rewarded the two with praise and apprentices. Rainfrost had gotten Flamepaw and Scorchfeather had received Cloudypaw, Whitestar gave the two apprentices for how well they've gotten in their training and because he thought they were "ready". Scorchfeather and Rainfrost trained their apprentices together despite the two warriors despised eachother. Scorchfeather and Rainfrost are still stayed together for unknown reasons. ))

Also this is random but Rainfrost definitely still thinks Scorchfeather is pretty and low-key misses her. ))
