(I thought that was the original reason so I guess I'm out of the loop)
Fawnstar didn't want to be left alone with Shadowstar after the black-furred tom's speech so he went to sit near the two female leaders as the stared at the clouds, talking in low mews.
Swiftstar swished her tail in acknowledgement of the tall leader as she continued speaking to Squirrelstar. "Clouds on a gathering night are never a good sign. Hopefully it's just the weather and StarClan is not angry. Again." The small grey tabby said.
(so I'm gonna be at a funeral (don't say anything) for some of today and I'd love for you guys to continue while I'm gone. I give people permission to use my cats while I am gone. If someone continues this it will make me feel much better when I get back and I will love you forever)

(oh yeah, hi, I'm back)
Welcome back- just realized i forgot to copy-paste the huge thing i had //
Squirrel, Spring, and Storm. haha //
Swiftstar swished her tail in acknowledgment of the tall leader as she continued speaking to Squirrelstar. "Clouds on a gathering night are never a good sign. Hopefully, it's just the weather and StarClan is not angry. Again." The small grey tabby said.
Squirrelstar flicked her ear as the lanky golden-brown leader approached. The RiverClan leader stared at the dark sky, feeling almost scared to blink in fear that she would miss something. White speckles dotted the night sky, brilliant bright stars, as Silverpelt shone brightly above all the clans.
The moon was big, round, and silvery as it shone down on the gathering, turning every cat's pelt a silvery shade. When RiverClan had arrived at the gathering island, the skies were perfect and clear, a beautiful cloudless night, but in the short time all the clans had shared now, both good and bad, clouds had rolled in.
The clouds were a mixture of wispy lines and puffy clouds, all extremely dark. At first, no cat could see the clouds till the moon caught them, giving them a silver outline, and now the clouds were clear as day.
There was a slight panic that the leaders, and cats down below, all shared. When there was a full moon, clouds were never a good sign. Those clouds signified StarClan's displeasure and the gathering would end if the moon was hidden. But why? Why would StarClan be upset?
There wasn’t a fight that had broken out. No accusation of stolen prey or crossing the border. Shadowstar’s stubborn attitude, perhaps, but many ShadowClan warriors were like that.
Maybe Swifstar was right, it could just be the weather and the clouds would pass over and the gathering would continue.
After spending a few seconds deep in thought, Squirrelstar gave a small nod of agreement, "I hope so.” she mewed, her voice making her sound more certain than she was truly feeling. “I was hoping that we could all stay and mingle.”
Squirrelstar flexed her muscles as she glanced over at Shadowstar. “I’m sure all the clans would like to welcome ShadowClan back home.” Shadowstar, the skinny shadow-black tom, met her glance hesitantly and without speaking a word gave a small nod of agreement.
Squirrelstar scanned the tom before turning away and gazing back at the sky. She silently feared that he would try to make ShadowClan not appear weak and cause a fight or two. Squirrelstar always preferred to take a passive approach, trying to deal with situations with words instead of claws.
Springheart took note of the clouds and gazed at them with a worried look on her face. She blinked slowly, a slight panic swelling in her chest. Would her kit's first gathering be one that was ended with a clouded moon?
The pale brown she-cat sighed, before muttering out, “Clouds aren’t a good sign…”
Barkclaw looked over at the former queen, looking confused. Instinctively he turned his head to gaze up at the night sky, he let out a quiet “oh.”
“Perhaps it’s just the weather? It was rather cloudy this morning.” he mewed, giving a kind smile with a flick of his tail.
“I hope so. I wouldn’t want Stormpaw and Mistpaw’s first gathering to be ruined by… well.” Springheart sighed, taking a quick glance at the sky before gazing back at the other warrior.
“You worry too much.” Barkclaw mewed playfully, “and I’m sure it's nothing, Springheart.” he mewed.
Springheart rolled her eyes, smirking. "You just don't worry enough." she purred, poking his chest with a gentle paw.
Stormpaw scanned the crowd of cats around them, Mistpaw and Vixenpaw were talking about whatever while he looked around. Springheart and Barkclaw were having a conversation quietly. Stormpaw turned to look at the large knotted, tree roots where the deputies sat.
Stormcloud, the large dark grey tom WindClan tom, was talking with a sleek-furred, white RiverClan she-cat and a dark tabby ShadowClan tom.
Squinting to see further, he noticed all the medicine cats. They were all talking together, with Whitestreak sitting beside a golden-brown tom who he recognized as Rainstripe. ’So he did become a medicine cat!’
Swanfeather was sitting beside a tall white she-cat with black ears and tail, he’d have to ask Vixenpaw for her name- all of their names actually.
Stormpaw looked away from all the clan cats. He wanted to look for any other apprentice but kept getting distracted. After a few long boring seconds of looking at his paws, the dark brown tabby tom turned towards his sister and friend, gaining their attention quickly.
“Hey, do you guys wanna go and find some ShadowClan apprentices to talk to?” he whispered, looking excited. “I’m getting bored of sitting in one spot… and I wanna see how ShadowClan is!”
sorry- I didn't realize this would take forever to make- 😭😭 //
"Sure!" Mistpaw replied, cheerily. She looked at Vixenpaw. "You coming?"
"No, sorry. I promised some RiverClan apprentices I'd meet them after the leaders finished speaking. I'll see you guys later!" Vixenpaw mewed, standing and moving to leave.
He padded between cats on his way to where the majority of RiverClan was, searching for Koipaw and the others.
Swiftstar continued to sit next to the other leaders as they all stared at the sky, talking in hushed mews. "Just the weather-" She repeated, mumbling to herself. She tore her eyes away from the clouds, which seemed to have stopped growing for the moment, to scan the crowds below. The only potential problem she saw were several hostile glances cast towards ThunderClan from cats of all the other clans.
She turned to glance at Fawnstar. He was shuffling his paws as Shadowstar moved to sit next to him to join the conversation. The ThunderClan leader didn't seem to have an aggressive bone in his body. His long legs and thin physique made him seem more like a WindClan cat than Swiftstar herself.
"Fawnstar, if I may have a word." She said, flicking her tail and moving to another branch, with a small amount of difficulty that she tried to hide from the other leaders. Fawnstar nodded in silence and followed.
"I think I know what this is about." Fawnstar said as he sat next to the small grey tabby. "I bet you do." She replied, as he met her mismatched eyes. "I wanted to see if there was anyway you could keep Rainfrost away from the border. He's made several threats already, to warriors and apprentices. My senior warriors are worried he will cause a fight."
"I understand, I've been worried about that myself. He's Whitestar's son and an avid follower. He isn't happy about the change in leadership."
(bump)
"No, sorry. I promised some RiverClan apprentices I'd meet them after the leaders finished speaking. I'll see you guys later!" Vixenpaw mewed, standing and moving to leave.
Stormpaw groaned, looking over at Mistpaw before laughing. "Come on! Barkclaw pulled me away from these two ShadowClan apprentices!" he stood up and nodded at Barkclaw before padding away in the opposite direction of Vixenpaw, Mistpaw following. "One of them was mean though, his name was Adderpaw I think." he twitched his ear, "But the she-cat- uhh- Shadowpaw, was nice though!"
He padded between cats on his way to where the majority of RiverClan was, searching for Koipaw and the others.
don't mind meeee //
Poolpaw sat beside her brother, Koipaw, who was on her left and Heatherpaw, who was on her right.
She was talking to the other RiverClan apprentices about what she had done earlier that day, having caught a huge fish by herself. Even her mentor, Rippleheart was impressed by her catch. She was rambling on and on about it when the scent of heather and rabbit made her pause. She turned her head to see a huge, sleek furred, dark ginger WindClan apprentice approaching them all.
"Oh! Hello!" she greeted, her tail flicking. The other RiverClan apprentices turned to look over at the newcomer.
"Hey, Koipaw," Pondpaw, the cream-and-white she-cat turned towards her denmate, "Isn't this the WindClan apprentice you were talking to earlier?" she had a teasing tone to her voice.
Heatherpaw leaned back a little bit to stare at Koipaw, "Is that where you disappeared for like, the whole gathering?" the black-and-rusty patched she-cat let out a small laugh. "I thought you got stuck crossing the tree again."
Poolpaw gasped, "StarClan! I forgot that happened! It was like his paws froze to the tree bark."
"Well, it was leaf-bare." Pondpaw snorted at Heatherpaw's quick and witty response.
"Pondpaw, wait, weren't you like- talking to a WindClan apprentice earlier?" Poolpaw mewed after a second, leaning forward to look at the she-cat who was sitting beside her brother, Shypaw.
Pondpaw looked confused for a few moments before she gasped slightly, nodding. "Oh yeah! It was some dark tabby with blue eyes. I forgot his name though." she hummed, twitching her whiskers. "He seemed really interested in what fish tasted like. I was thinking about sneaking one to the next gathering."
Heatherpaw nudged her denmate, purring. "You'd forget who it was for and eat it accidentally." Pondpaw rolled her eyes in response but purred.
Pondpaw, Poolpaw, and Heatherpaw being besties <33 //
Shypaw's there too but he's nervous around new cats— //
Stormpaw groaned, looking over at Mistpaw before laughing. "Come on! Barkclaw pulled me away from these two ShadowClan apprentices!" he stood up and nodded at Barkclaw before padding away in the opposite direction of Vixenpaw, Mistpaw following. "One of them was mean though, his name was Adderpaw I think." he twitched his ear, "But the she-cat- uhh- Shadowpaw, was nice though!"
"Okay!" Mistpaw followed, eager to talk to the ShadowClan apprentices. She glanced up at the leaders perched on the branches of the tree, wondering what everything would look like from up high.
Shadowpaw looked up as Stormpaw approached. "Hey Stormpaw!" She smiled, then noticed a blue-grey she-cat following behind him. "Oh, hi."
Shadowpaw looked up as Stormpaw approached. "Hey Stormpaw!" She smiled, then noticed a blue-grey she-cat following behind him. "Oh, hi."
Stormpaw nodded at Shadowpaw, giving a kind greeting as he settled down a couple of pawsteps away. "Hey Shadowpaw!" As he sat down, he noticed the tall, black-and-ginger tom -Adderpaw- giving him a look and saying no words. Stormpaw twitched his tail and ignored the grumpy older tom. 'Really, who put dirt in his nest?'
"This is my sister, Mistpaw!" he introduced his sister.
Adderpaw and Shadowpaw were talking and sitting together. The other ShadowClan apprentices had scattered off and Adderpaw and Shadowpaw decided to stay together. He was boasting about battle training and what he had done earlier that day, having beaten his mentor, Palepatch, and pinned her on her back.
"Lemme tell you Shadowpaw, I'm gonna be an amazing fighter and you'll be by my side through it all!" he heard her let out a small laugh and he couldn't help but crack a smile. She made him unbelievably happy and he couldn't wait to be warriors together so he could finally ask the question.
After a few peaceful moments, the smell of WindClan made him turn.
The annoying brown tabby from earlier and some small blue-gray molly followed him. Shadowpaw was quick to greet the tabby, whose name he had never picked up but it was apparently Stormpaw. The blue she, Shadowpaw didn't seem to know either. Stormpaw sat down a little closer than Adderpaw would have liked but he wouldn't make a scene… but he would let his annoyance be known. He glared at the WindClan tom as he greeted Shadowpaw before introducing his sister to them.
The two WindClan cats didn't look related but whatever, he really wasn't one to judge. Clearpaw didn't look like his littermate but she was.
After a few seemingly awkward seconds, the ginger-and-black tom nodded at the greyish-blue apprentice. "Hi, I'm Adderpaw." He introduced himself in a rather gruff tone and a flick of his tail.
Mistpaw glanced between Stormpaw and Adderpaw for a moment. "Well, Adderpaw," She turned to the black-furred she-cat. "And… Shadowpaw, right? It's great to meet you both." She smiled, flicking her fluffy tail.
"You too, Mistpaw." Shadowpaw replied. She glanced at Adderpaw, curling her tail with his. She'd never really talked with cats outside of ShadowClan before, but the two WindClan apprentices seemed nice.
(New AU idea: ShadowMist??? AdderShadow breaks up, as does MistFlame. Shadow and Mist find comfort in each other, and end up falling in love. (Lots of drama ensues))
(Flameboi would just give up and be depressed at that point tbh. He worked so hard to be with mistpaw but in the end it doesn't even matter)
