“All right,” Daisy hummed, nodding. “How far is that one, then?”
“All right,” Daisy hummed, nodding. “How far is that one, then?”
"That one is forty minutes," he said, leading her to his car. "We'll be going in my car. My team will be following behind in the truck."
“Ah, okay. How many are coming today?” Daisy wondered, glancing up at him again.
"My team?" Arvil quirked an eyebrow. "There's five of them. Seven if you include us."
Daisy hummed. “Will I be formally introduced to them when we get there?” she wondered, facing forward but looking at him from the corner of her eye.
"Of course," Arvil hummed, unlocking the car and opening the passenger side for her. "If you want that, then yes."
“I mean, it seems logical,” Daisy said with a shrug as she slid into the car. She murmured a thank you, buckling herself in.
Arvil shut the door and slid himself into the driver's seat. He started the engine and pulled the car out of the parking lot.
"Let's hope you are good with kids," he commented. "Because you will need that."
Daisy released a breath, cringing slightly. “Yeah, let’s hope… It’s been a while since I was around kids,” she admitted in a murmur.
Arvil shot her a smirk, then pulled his attention back on the road.
"I'm sure you'll fine," he said smoothly. "It's not much. Just twenty-five kids."
“Just,” Daisy scoffed, shaking her head with a small laugh. “That’s so many. It’s a good thing there are more than just the two of us.”
"Ah, well, they're cute little children," Arvil laughed alongside her. "You'll like them. Besides, they'll get their presents and their food and they'll be thrilled."
“I bet. Who doesn’t like presents and food?” Daisy mused with a soft chuckle. “Especially when you don’t get them very often.”
"You'll have to prepare for a bunch of shoulder rides, though," Arvil said with a shrug. "They love those."
“Well, then, let’s hope I don’t tire out too quickly,” Daisy said, smiling over at him.
"You will," Arvil assured her with a laugh. "Don't have too much faith in your stamina."
Daisy snorted again. “Then I’m going to go home and sleep after this, I’m sure.”
Arvil reached over to pinch her nose, then hummed as if he hadn't done anything. "You do that. You'll need your energy."
“Hey!” Daisy huffed, her nose crinkling. She gave him a look, brows drawn together in slight confusion. “What was that?”
"Are you offended?" Arvil asked with a chuckle. "Am I supposed to wait before doing something like that?"
“I’m not offended, no… I’m just confused,” Daisy admitted, still looking over at him in confusion.
"We're going to be in a relationship for who knows how long," Arvil hummed. "It would be best to be more comfortable around each other, no?"
“Ah. Yeah… Yeah, I guess you’re right,” Daisy mused, glancing away and chewing on her lip slightly. “Speaking of, I feel like there are more things we should ask, things to get to know each other more.”
"We have ten minutes," Arvil said, drumming his fingers on the wheels. "Ask what you need. Though do remember that anything personal, I'll have to dodge."
Daisy nodded once in understanding. She reached down to pull her phone from her purse, which sat at her feet, then turned the screen on. Opening her notes app, she pulled up a list she had typed up.
“Okay… Besides you and your parents, is there anyone else in your family? Like, siblings, maybe pets?” she asked, looking up at him.
