Vida lagged in the back. She wasn’t exactly eager to be back.
“I’m not ready. You guys kind of forced me here. But I guess I don’t have a choice? There’s not really any reason for power to still run to this building so it’s probably dark…”
(hey guys, finals are about to start, 3 weeks to be exact and mine are all in the first week of exam month. im really stressed out considering i have no idea what im doing in one of my classes, one of them is to hard, and life is ugh. i may or may not be on here, most probably just pop in to read what you wrote and nudge you in the direction i want this story to go. If you do need me, send me a Pm, i will reply to those, not really my Rps. thanks all)
(Good luck with everything! I’m in basically the same boat though. Except we don’t have an exam month, we have like a week and a half of exams at most, so everything is crammed together no matter what. I’ll still be on here, but expect more quick drop-ins and replies to what’s there)
(Exam month is for the entire campus. All students taking fall courses (i.e. Sept-Dec) get to take their exams in December. Each day has 3-4 exams throughout the time period (9-9) and it goes from the 6-20 I think. My exams are on the 6th and the 11th and I have 2 on the 6th. I missed most of october because I got really sick so I feel like literal crap and stress ain't helping)
(Ah, I’m sorry man. I wish you the best of luck. I know it’s really stressful but you can do this!)
"Anyone have a flashlight?" It would be weird for someone to just be carrying around a flashlight, but you never knew. Caleb walked further in, his excitement shooting through the roof. He loved things like this. The mysterious darkness. Who knew what was in here, or what lived here now. He didn't know, but he was ready to find out.
"I have this," Vida said softly.
She pulled out her keys, on which she had one of those tiny keychain flashlights. Vida unclipped the light and handed it over.
"Don't know how long it will last you, but you can give it a shot."
Nathan shook his head. "We should have cone a little more prepared." He sighed. Nathan looked around, his eyes getting used to the darkness, and smiled wistfully. "What are we looking for?" He asked
"Yeah, maybe, but that's the excited part." Caleb took the small flashlight and shined it around. "Not knowing what's going to happen makes it feel like an adventure." Sure this was fun to him, but all he can think about is finding something, any clue as to where Esmae might be. He just can't think of why Esmae? What made her their target?
Katya looked at Caleb in slight disbelief. How could he think this was exciting or fun? This was terrifying and they were here to find any clues about Esmae, "We should just look around and then get out."
"You're right." Caleb decided to take the lead since he was the oldest. He didn't necessarily want to disappoint Uriah, although he wasn't sure why he felt that way. Caleb still though he could take him in a real fight. "You guys used to live here, do you remember where all the files were?"
"No idea," Katya admitted as she followed behind Caleb. She wasn't going to step ahead, but would voice her opinions.
"Hm, looks like we might be wandering around a bit then." He could tell the younger ones were weary of this place, but it didn't do them any good to be scared. Maybe they all just went a little soft after the years. While Caleb always had his eyes out, but when it counted the most, he froze. That's why he'll do anything in his power to make this up to her. Then it accrued to him, what did she feel like, how was she feeling now? Was she disappointed and mad at him? He hated thinking she might hate him after this.
Nathan pushed open a door and coughed when a big dust cloud came to greet him. He poked around, using the small bit of light outside to find his way. "I think I found some flashlights!" He called, picking up a cool metal rod
Esmae sighed as she grabbed a tray for food. "Do whatever you like." She knew it would turn out like this. But why this guy? What was his rank in this company? Wouldn't they make a higher up watch her in case? She grabbed a plate and put some sausage and pancakes on it, and grabbed a glass of orange juice. "Do you know all the training I'll be doing today? And what exactly is the point of this training, what do you all want from me?" She knew she wouldn't get an answer, but it was worth asking just in case.
(Ahh sorry)
“Hm… no,” Cassius replied.
He had seemed like he was thinking for a moment, and then he just gave the simple response.
“No one has told me much. Just that I’m to look after you. Closely.”
He took a sip of his tea and placed the cup back down on the table.
Vida was in the back, muttering to herself nervously.
“Ijustwannagetoutofhere…”
She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment then almost ran into the person right in front of her.
Katya turned as Vida almost ran into her. She offered a hand to Vida with a light blush on, "Here. We should stick together and then we can get out faster."
"O-okay," Vida whispered, taking Katya's hand, "Why are we even here? Do you guys actually think snooping around in this old place will help us find Esmae?"
"Maybe," Katya muttered quietly as she glanced around the dark area, "That's why were here."
Magnus grabbed a flashlight from Nathan and turned it on. "We have a bit more light now." He muttered. He walked ahead of the others and heard buzzing coming from a room up ahead. "Hey, I hear something from behind this door." He called out
"A-are you sure you want to open it?" Vida asked, leaning forwards a bit to see, but still hanging as far back as possible.
"I don't know, it sounds like buzzing. Actually, I think it's static!" He said in surprise. Radios and things like walkie talkies haven't been in production for a long time so hearing static was fairly odd.
"Static?" Katya asked carefully, "Maybe we shouldn't go in there."
"Well we won't know until we look." Magnus said uncertainly.
(I finished 2 out of approx 10 characters for this story)
(Ooh, nice!)
"Be careful," Vida warned.
She knew she couldn't stop them from checking it out, and in fact was growing a little more curious herself. Vida hid just behind Katya but was peeking around her slightly.
Katya looked at Magnus. She gave a concerned look, "I guess. Go ahead then."
Magnus shrugged and nervously pushed open the door. Inside the dimly lit room was a table with multiple screens. The buzzing sound was coming from an old antique radio. Magnus shone a beam of light on the monitors and found that they were running, just shut off. "Guys, come in here, I think I found something." He said, feeling behind the screen and pushing a button, turning all if them on with a low hum. On the screens they could see a video surveillance of all their favourite spots, restaurants, amusement parks, malls, parks, and even their houses. "What the fuck?" Nathan said, coming in the room.
Vida inched forwards.
"Um… we've been… we've been watched all th-this time?" Vida stammered, "By whom?! Why?!"
She shuddered at the thought.
