Nevihata: I don’t really have a specific place I come from..space I suppose, since most of the time I hang out in my ship. I guess the Kevara solar system. I’m there often.

Lux: [Sighs.] Tritain is a nymph that is to be executed tomorrow at dusk.

Kyoko: Executed? But why?

Lux: Treason, espionage, thievery, murder, kidnapping, slavery, starting a war that cost many lives, AND being responsible for the curse that I bear.

Kyoko: Oh god… Can't believe I almost felt bad for the poor thing

Lux: She definitely deserves it…. She's been judged and scentenced; tomorrow night, her head rolls…. Then I must prepare myself for 'The Dark Time'.

Kyoko: The Dark Time?

Lux: That is what I call the period of time that the curse is active…. Unfortunately, it can't be removed nor changed. I've lived with this since I was 10.

Kyoko: Oh… I'm sorry to hear that…

Lux: Don't be…. I've learned to live with it (Helps that I'm much older than I appear to be.)

Kyoko: Yeah, but it still doesn't make it okay..

Lux: No, no it doesn't…. Especially when this particular curse was placed upon me before I was even born. (And the things that I do if I don't take the precautions, and get myself locked up in time.)

Kyoko: [pulls Lux into a hug]

Lumen: [Reaches for his sword, but is stopped by a movement from Lux.]

Lux: [Hugs back.]

Kyoko: My mom use to tell me hugs make everything better

Lux: Smart woman. [Smiling a little bit.]

Jason: What happens when the curse is active?

Lux: [Silent, thinking about how best to answer the question.] My teeth and fingernails become sharp and pointed, my eyes go completely black, and my entire demeanor changes…. In short, I become a bloodthirsty, murderous, monster. [Stops talking and shudders from the thought.] Mercy on those that look into my eyes during The Dark Time. [Added as an afterthought.]

Kyoko: Why not… I don't know… lock yourself up during those times? My friend's a Lycan and goes through similar changes and does it all the time

Lux: [Smiles a grim smile.] That is exactly what I do! Poor Lumen here knows first-hand how bad it is if we fail to lock me up in time, or if someone foolishly lets me go.

Kyoko: My friend Nimue hopes to find a cure for these types of transformations after the war. Hopefully, it works..

Lux: Unfortunately, I'm afraid, that the only cure for this curse is death…. As I mentioned, it can't be altered or removed.

Kyoko: Oh God… I'm so sorry, Your Highness

Lux: I've lived with the curse for 19,490 years.

Kyoko: [tries to blink back tears] I'm sorry…

Jason: Bullshit.

Kyoko: [looks at Jason] Pardon?

Jason: There's no way that he's THAT old! I mean just look at him; he can't be much older than 36!

Kyoko: [sniffs] Of course he can. My goddess is over a billion years old and she looks as though she hadn't completed elementary school

Lux: I understand the disbelief, young firery one…. I was given the gift of an extraordinary long life twice; the first time was from an elderly elf whose life I saved, and the second time was after relocating my adoptive aunt's children for their own safety. That is why I'm far older than I seem.

Jason: [Thinks about things, and realizes that he did get a magical invitation to Lux's gathering, is a cambion, and has seen other strange wonders.] I'm sorry about my brashness, Excellency.

Lux: All is forgiven, young firery one.
