"Yeah yeah I know. I'll get it." She smiled confidently.
"Yeah yeah I know. I'll get it." She smiled confidently.
Marco sighed, fairly certain she didn't understand just how much danger Skye was in right now…. Sighing he slipped out the door, sprinting off towards the black market as fast as he could.
She sprinted out after him but in the opposite direction. If they worked fast enough, they'd find it before it was too late, right?
Marco slipped into the marketplace, pulling up his hood. He was breathing hard, but kept his cool as he warily searched all the herb stalls.
Skye came to shortly after they left, starting awake in a cold sweat. Pain shot up his leg and he moaned softly, poison….. they… the hunters… Mala… his thoughts were sluggish and it was hard to think, hard to breath. "Cry… Crystal?"
She was still running. She wasn't completely sure where to but she figured if she just ran fast enough that she'd get there.
Marco found another stall, quickly describing what they needed, and was immediately turned away.*No
She eventually paused, looking around to see where she actually was and swore under her breath. She'd long since left town and was now a bit lost.
Marco sighed, thrning to head to the next hebalist stall. Getting there he almost froze in surprise. Hunters?!
She glanced around. Yep, she was lost. She sighed heavily, now how was she supposed to get back?
What the heck are Hunters doing here?! thought Marco frantically, paling when he joted the flower they were buying. no….
Okay, now I'm stuck here. Now what? She hugged quietly. Well, if I just go in the opposite direction, I should get back, right?
"Hey there sweetheart"Someone came up behind her, slipping a knife against her back. "Don't scream, just come quietly" he whispered.
Marco backed away a little more, watching the Hunters carefully. Suddenly one vanished. Then a knife appeared at his throat.
(Cliches are too boring, so I made sure it wasn't the only thing in store!)
"This is the second time I've been kidnapped today! Are you actually kidding me??" She sighed but did as asked.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing sweetie" said the Hunter, "So long as your boyfriend cooperates you'll be safe."
Marco was tense, "Let go!" He said firmly.
The hunter laughed, guiding him towards the others.
"Yeah, I find it highly doubtful that he will be." She let him push her through the woods. "Wait…how did you even know I was out here?"
A ragged looking brown and green furred wolf came out of the trees at her question. The qolf was thin, injured, scarred and limping. His fur was matted, and his eyes held no life.
"I didn't find you." Said the hunter. "He did."
"That…still doesn't explain why he finds me important. I met Skye like…2 days ago. I don't know anything."
"He's in love idiot!" growled the hunter, "When wolves find love like that they don't give it up easily, not unless the other person rejects them, and you haven't. He'll do anything to protect you. Anything." The hunter pulled her into a small camp, where there were a few other wolves, each was just as ragged as the first, their eyes dull and lifeless.
Marco glared at the hunters, desperately trying to find a way to escape. "What do you want with me!" he demanded.
The Hunters sneered, "To keep you away from your friend obviously"
She threw her hands up defensively. "Sorry I asked." She muttered sarcastically under her breath.
The hunter tripped her, shoving her to the ground. "Don't give us attitude sweetheart." he said firmly. "You! Guard her, don't let her move from that spot." he pulle out an amulet, and the brown and green furred wolf padded over to her, sitting down silently.
Marco growled, "Good luck with that!" he said, unleashing his power to knock the Hunters down, knocking the knife away, and running off into the crowds. I have to find a cure, and I have to find Crystal!
"Attitude is what I do, honey. Get used to it." She flashed a sarcastic smile, shrugging.
The hunter glared at her, "Stay quiet or you're gonna get hurt."
The wolf nudged her with a small whine, "Do as he says or we'll both get hurt…." he hissed,
The Hunter whipped around, glaring at the wolf, who immediately tensed in fear. "Don't do that again. Or we'll hurt the pup." he pointed to a small net hung on a low branch. Inside it was a clump of gray fur, small and helpless.
She frowned slightly but stayed quiet, glancing at the pup. She drummed her fingers on her knee, looking around slowly.
The wolf beside her stayed tense, fearful for the clump of gray fur in the net.
Marco finally stopped running, his chest heaving as he gasped for breath, sinking to the ground in a narrow alleyway. "Ok…. I need… to find… Skye… a cure…. and …. I need…. to warn… Crystal…" he spoke his thought's out loud as he tried to catch his breath. But…. what if the hunters already have her? He shook himself, no. She's a street thief like me, she's not an idiot.
