"That's just not true."
"That's just not true."
"Yes it is" said Skye before kissing her again.
"No it isn't, Skye."
Skye frowned, "Give me three good reasons, ones that I can't deflect."
"One, it just isn't. Two, If people thought I was pretty, I'd use it to my advantage more often and I can't. And three, you're the only person who has ever said so."
"one, isn't even a reason, Two and three? Those idiots are bling and can't see a jewel under the street muck like I can."
"Everyone just wants the obvious diamond rather than the one they have to dig through the dirt for." She muttered her older sister's saying under her breath.
"You're an obvious gem to me, uncut, unpolished, fresh out of the mine. Giving me the chance to scrape away the dirt to see the extent of my treasure."
"Everyone else just wants the finished product. The processed diamond that gets all the praise."
"But I would rather watch as the ruby gets cut and polished by time." said Skye, "And last I checked Rubies are far more valuble than Diamonds."
"I'm not valuable. I'm just another person."
"You're valuable to me"
"Then you have a skewed sense of value."
"Ill get through to you eventually"
"Good luck with that."
"I will get through to you." Said Skye firmly, pulling her back down for another kiss.
She was going to answer but her words melted in her mouth when he kissed her.
Skye kissed her gently, pressing deep into the kiss, pulling her closer.
She was scrambling for her thoughts, trying to get her focus back on track but she couldn't.
Skye smiled into the kiss, sensing her confusion, and pressing deeper.
He'd caught her so off guard but she didn't mind it all.
"Beautiful" he murmured against her lips.
"Not true." She mumbled against his.
Skye responded by kissing her more roughly, seemingly angry that she kept telling herself rhis.
If someone has a bad opinion of themselves and no one around refutes it, is it even a lie? She shook her thoughts away.
