"Alright," She said with a nod, pulling her arm down from her neck and fiddling with the hem of her shirt instead. She looked over at him and tilted her head to the side, "I have a question quick, why is the 'Council' so insistent on finding me and what's the Council?"

@SaltyLasagna

Abaddon backed out of his parking spot without looking at her. "That's not something that's easily explained… all I can tell you at this moment is that because of who, or what you are, they've invested quite a bit of money in you. They were counting on me and a few other people who were invited to bid on you, due to our… financial status." He glanced over at her when he began driving before looking back at the road. "But I wasn't planning on buying you. I'm not exactly a good man, but I have morals. I don't believe in selling people like slaves."

@gracehustle

"Isn't selling people illegal?" She asked, "This isn't the colonial times." Alex looked out the window and sighed, the information he told her making no sense to any of what was happening, besides the bidding on her. They had told her that part.

@SaltyLasagna

"It's very much illegal. But the Council is extremely powerful, and anybody who interferes with their business is quickly taken care of." He stopped at a stoplight, scanning the area for anywhere they could hide. "Bar or restaraunt? Can you even go to a bar? You look fairly young."

@gracehustle

"I'm eighteen, as long as I don't try to buy any drinks I think I can go to a bar." She looked around and shook her head, "I don't care where we go, I just want to know what's happening to me." Her stomach growled softly and she glanced over at him, "And I'm sort of hungry, so food would be nice as well."

@SaltyLasagna

"Restaraunt it is, then. How do you feel about Burger King?" He asked, pointing out the fast food place just around the corner.

@gracehustle

"Sure." She responded, giving a slight nod and looking at the fast food restaurant. It had been quite a while since she'd had fast food and it actually sounded quite good.

@SaltyLasagna

Abaddon pulled into the parking lot, taking a quick look around. His ears twitched as his listened for anyone who might be talking about him or the girl. When he heard nothing, he turned off the car and got out. "You ready?" he asked the girl.

@gracehustle

She nodded and got out of the car as well, her whole demeanor showing how uneasy she was. The fact that she was trusting a stranger who knew more about what was happening to her than she did could make a person uneasy.

@SaltyLasagna

Abaddon brought her inside the building, and found a place for them to sit. "I'll get you something to eat after I tell you what's going on. And once you settle down," he assured her.

@gracehustle

"Alright." She said, settling into her seat as she waited for him to tell her what was going on. She fiddled with the hem of her shirt and watched him carefully, "So, what's happening to me?"

@SaltyLasagna

"Well, I guess the best way to start this is by telling you that you're not exactly human anymore," he said blunty, leaning back in his seat.

@gracehustle

"What do you mean? How?" She asked, frowning as she looked herself over. She was quite confused, she felt like herself for the most part, and it wasn't like she was growing a tail or anything.

@SaltyLasagna

"You're going to look the same, for the most part. Possibly a little paler. You might feel colder, too. And hungrier," he said. "Now, this is going to sound… ridiculous, probably. But I need you to trust me when I say that everything I'm telling you is one hundred percent truthful."

@gracehustle

Alex nodded, sure that whatever he said wouldn't be too crazy..right? He did know what was happening to her and she was determined to know why she was being searched for. "Alright, I trust you." She said.

@SaltyLasagna

"I guess… there's no other way to say this," he said, sucking in a breath and leaning forward. "You're turning into a vampire."

@gracehustle

"A vampire?" She raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical, "Is this some kind of joke? Vampires have fangs and they're pasty white, I'm not turning into a vampire."

@gracehustle

She shook her head, "I haven't seen any vampires in my life so I wouldn't know, that's just the stereotype." She looked around the fast food place and shook her head again, "I mean, I could go with the Twilight version of vampires is, you want me to do that?"

@SaltyLasagna

"Definitely not," Abaddon said, making a face. "There was so much they got wrong in that movie, it was disgusting… however, there are some similarities."

@gracehustle

"What are the similarities? And how would you know?" She questioned, a small smile forming on her face from the face he made, "That movie is disappointingly bad, I'm going to agree with you."

@SaltyLasagna

"Personal experience, of course. I'm a vampire, too," he explained. He couldn't help but smile slightly when he caught her amusement, but he quickly cleared his throat and looked down at his hands afterward.

@gracehustle

"Wait…you're a vampire." She pointed at him and cocked her head to the side, "You? You're a vampire?" She shook her head, "Now you're really messing with me. That isn't true is it, you just want to see how much made up stuff I'll believe."

@SaltyLasagna

"Ah, yes, this whole thing is just one big prank. I saved you from being kidnapped and sold just so I could bring you to a burger kind to mess with your head. You got me." His voice dripped with sarcasm, and he shot her a glare. "I'm being serious right now. If you don't believe me, you'll figure it out for yourself, eventually."

@gracehustle

She rolled her eyes, "If this is all true then tell me something that I can actually believe about what's happening to me." She matched his glare and a little voice in her head told her that maybe, just maybe, she should believe him. "Tell me one thing that's going to happen to me if I'm turning into a vampire."

@SaltyLasagna

"I've already told you a few," he argued. "But the first thing you'll probably notice is that you're going to get unbearably hungry. You'll get a craving for something, but you won't know what it is, and the craving will get worse and worse until you satisfy it."

@gracehustle

As if on cue, her stomach growled and she raised an eyebrow, "How do I satisfy the craving?" She asked, blaming the growl from not eating enough when the others were planning to sell her.

@SaltyLasagna

"Take a guess," Abaddon said flatly. Her reaction was frustrating him, but he couldn't really blame her. He was a bit skeptical when he was turned as well.

@gracehustle

"I dunno, eating food?" She shrugged, "Drinking blood like some weird vampire thing that I supposedly am?" She gestured to herself, "How would I know."

@SaltyLasagna

"Drinking blood," he said bluntly. "Not just any blood, vampires usually crave both their own blood type… and the blood of vampires who are in the transitioning process."
