"Yep! Super fun," she said, and left it at that. Cassie seemed to buy it, but no one could say anything else anyway, because class was starting.

Tanner sat in the back by a window not wanting to deal with any interactions by people. Plus he was told to sit there. That space made him feel comfortable.
Once class started, that morning seemed to be relatively simple for Piper. She wasn't really bothered by the piling up homework, since she really enjoyed English class. She just let herself get lost in the play that they had to read.
Tanner looked outside the window with his sketchbook opened. he had no idea what to draw so he just drew the fountain in the front of the school.
Once the next class was over, it was time for lunch. Piper and Cassie made a beeline for the lunch line, then they went and sat at their favorite corner in the cafeteria. Piper was starving, and she was really excited to finally be able to eat. So excited, in fact, that she forgot all about Tanner for a few minutes.
Tanner walked up to them. "U-Ummm…May I sit?" he said looking away from them. Mostly the floor but away from them. Hoping he didn't have to say much to them.
"Yeah, totally," Piper said after a minute of chewing her french fries. I guess it's official, she thought, I invited him into our friend group and now we're both gonna have to be extra careful.
Tanner ate his food quietly hoping he didn't have to say anything. Then his phone rang. A message from his mom. he put his phone back in his pocket not wanting to deal with her at the moment.
“So, Corina,” she heard Cassie say, “do you want to be a lead role in the musical this year?”
Piper couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She shook her head, then turned her attention to tanner. “Every year they have a musical in ballet, and this year Cassie’s been pushing me to audition. It’s realky dumb though.”
"Maybe you should…I guess someone has stage fright?" he nervously laughs knowing he was also talking about himeself a little.
“Pffft me? Stage fright? I don’t think so. It’s just stupid to put yourself out there like that.”
"Sure…Just like I can deal with human interactions well."
“Well, that’s different. But, while you’re talking about me, why don’t you try out?” She teased. Cassie was just watching silently.
(Hello, I was just letting you know that I had to delete my old account, so this is the new me! But I’m still planning on keeping this to going :))
(Okie!)
"No." Tanner shook his head. "I-I can't…" He looked down knowing "Corina would make him do it anyways. "I don't like talking to people…"
“Yeah, which is why this is a perfect opportunity for you.”
Cassie’s face lit up. “I have an idea,” she said. “What if you two did it together? There are two leads, and you guys can practice together and everything!”
"No. I'm not doing it…I'll freeze up and people would start laughing…" He was practically panicking now. "I'm not doing it."
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with him on this one," Piper said. The truth was, she was scared, but she was so great at acting like she was uninterested.
"…" Tanner messed with the sleeve of his hoodie hoping he wouldn't be forced into doing it. He was clearly uncomfortable.
"You both are so lame," Cassie joked. Then she changed the subject. "This pile of gray mush should not be called mashed potatoes."
"Y-Yeah…Potatoes…" He said messing with the bracelet again. "I seriously don't want to eat right now…" He pushes the plate away from him.
He always was so dramatic, Piper thought as she pushed her plate away too.
Tanner sighed. "so…Corina…How do you like dance class?" He said tilting his head.
"I love it," she perked up, her blonde curls bouncing. "It makes you feel so free! Although the teacher is a bit rude, dancing is fun. And you do have to stay away from some people. But," she smiled, "I couldn't live without it. You?"
"Well it seems better than the one in California" He laughs. "I just don't like the sleeping area…Too many people going in and out."
"Well, I LOVE people watching," Cassie said enthusiastically. "Sometimes, after practice, I stay a few extra minutes in the lounge just to see interesting people walk by."
"Stalker," Piper said under her breath. Cassie hit her arm.
"Not funny," she said.
"It actually is," He said laughing the Nancy walked up.
"You're with her again?" She said crossing her arm
Tanner stood up. "Leave me alone. You're kind of being stalkerish and I don't like it."
"Speaking of stalkers," Cassie gave a knowing glance to Piper.
Well this is new, Piper was thinking. Tanner? Standing up for himself?
Tanner crossed his arm. "Leave."
"Fine!" Nancy threw her hands up and walked off
"God I hate her."
