I haven't read anything with a blind character full stop I don't think. Besides Al in the Deadpool comics, and Daredevil. I did make a disabled character a while ago in a dark diary entry like story I wrote in secondary school. I think if I remember right, she got pushed into the road and hit by a car, which resulted in her being paralysed from the waist down. I can't remember why but I think she ended up going to this cabin camp thing where a murderer was going around killing people. She was losing her mind and one minute she thought we was the murderer, this random guy was the murderer, both of them were, the girl who she thought pushed her were. It was weird. Sorry rambling on. I think I'd find it hard writing from the perspective of a blind person…

@blue_topaz

That sounds like a really cool idea for a story, and lol I ramble all the time, it's fine

But yeah, same here, even thought it would be super interesting I feel like I wouldn't be doing it justice

@Twitchy

No problem haha, and thank you :P . I have a question: At what age did you know were gay/lesbian/bisexual/asexual/trangender etc. ? and simply, what his your history of relationships to age?
If this is too personal don't answer, but personally I have a wide age range of individuals, and I'm not sure what commonly is or isn't average, especially with LGBTQA+ individuals.

@blue_topaz

It's fine dw, and to answer your second question first, I've never actually been in a relationship, my interactions with anyone who has had a crush on me have been limited, especially when pertaining to girls
As far as the age I realized, idk I guess I slowly became more aware of it as time went on, transitioning from mislabelling crushes as "she's so awesome I want to be really good friends with her!" to "well shit. I hope she's gay" (lol). I'm not 100% sure when it happened, sometime during middle school, late sixth grade, maybe? seventh? I honestly don't really remember

@blue_topaz

I have friends who realized around the time of grade 8/7, most had their sexualities fairly figured out by the time highschool rolled around

@Twitchy

I really relate to you haha, I personally came out this year (18) but the first time it hit me that I liked a girl was pfft… year 8? so 13/14 years old? but I literally just thought to my self, naah straight is easier, I'll deal with it later. So I procrastinated my sexuality for about 4/5 years haha. I've never had a girlfriend or boyfriend (I'm biromantic) but until I came out I've never really been interested.

@blue_topaz

Damn you procrastinate more than I do XD

I sort of did the opposite, when it finally clicked after being in my subconscious for so long my first reaction was to be impulsive. If it makes sense, I'd gradually got to knowing that my sexuality wasn't straight, but I hadn't known until a girl in my class asked me to go out for lunch with her and ten others (a friend outing) and my brain short-circuited.

@Twitchy

Aww haha, well I felt the same way about a guy that I did a girl when I was around… pfft year 5 so 9/10 years old, maybe younger. I always wanted to be around them, but felt embarressed (now I know that this is a crush haha) but I knew that the guy said was normal so I thought wow! She's cool and he's a crush! then in secondary I was like "this is a crush" haha. She was really awesome too. Anyway, when I was 17, since I hadn't realised already, I thought huh, maybe I'm just straight cause I'm way to old to be question- ZENDAYA WHO IS DIS? SENSE8 WHAT'S THIS!? IS THIS ATTRACTION!? BUT BRAIN THIS IS WOMAN! Ahh wait I remember saying I'd deal with this years ago… ohhh… Procrastination. Complete.

@HighPockets group

I first learned about the community when I was going into 8th grade, and started to realize crushes and stuff (Daisy Ridley!!!!) during that time as well. But I also remember when I was in first grade and there was a girl in my class that I thought was really cute and I thought about marrying her (I have no idea how it took me 6 years to realize I wasn't straight).

@HighPockets group

loll

oh damn, same tho

If I may, Eddie Redmayne and Dodie Clark are the most attractive celebs out there

Eddie Redmayne!!!!!!!!!!!! swoons
Daisy Ridley
Natalie Portman
Kelly Marie Tran
Oscar Isaac
Emma Watson
Emilia Clarke

Is anyone else getting sick of fantasy books that have all straight/white/cis casts? In my opinion, it's unrealistic not to have an LGBTQA+ character or a POC character in a fantasy setting.

@PuffPoff

Okay a quick question for everyone: Would you rather have an author casually mention character's sexuality, or just go out and say them and the beginning of the book so people know throughout?
