((AH!! I know what it is, but I've yet to watch it. My best and only true friend irl watches it and has told me about it. I'm supposed to watch it with her sometime. I've only watched one anime thus far– Violet Evergarden.))
((slams table YOU’VE WATCHED ONE OF THE GOLDEN ANIME OF ALL TIME, CONGRATULATIONS!!!))
((Anywayssss… clears throat with clear Violet Evergarden fanboy sense(?) it’s okay if you haven’t watched it but I do recommend it a lot. That aside, there’s this thing in the show that they call “Hero’s Ranking”. Basically, it’s a list set by the government and or officials to rank the heroes by how they’ve preformed in a certain amount of time, how many crimes they’ve solved, etc. I was thinking of getting that into this with Evelyn being dominated alongside other heroes (Arachnid, Clockwise, etc.) while Zeke watches from somewhere within the crowd as it is an event))
((You can reply tomorrow, get some sleep :D))
Zeke looked at Evelyn a moment, his confusion evident. "Who was that?" he dared to ask. He'd never been nosy, really, but his curiosity was eating away at him, and he couldn't help but wonder who Evelyn would say something like that to. "What did they say?"
((Ooooo that sounds like a neat idea. ALSO I'M GLAD I FOUND ANOTHER VIOLET EVERGARDEN FAN AND NOW I AM A HAPPY CAMPER HHMHMHMHHMHMHMHMHM.))
”It was Clockwise. He was just concerned as to what I did to him earlier, don’t worry. He’s like that but he’s an understanding man” Evelyn mentioned before she smiled again, softly pulling Zeke along into the mall. She glanced around a bit, more out of subconsciousness really. She spotted some police officers upstairs, perhaps just for security measures.
She eventually dragged Zeke up to the third floor where there was a clothing store that Evelyn personally loved.
Of course, she took Zeke to the mens’ side and began looking for something that would suit him. She found a long-sleeved black shirt alongside a dark navy colored suit and a pair of light gray jeans.
”These might look good on you” she muttered so that Zeke could hear.
((VIOLET IS FRICKING AMAZING!!! AND THANKS TO COVID-19, I HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE!! D:<))
((I want Gilbert back hnngngngngngng))
Zeke might've blushed a little for some stupid reason, glancing over at the clothes. He was never very good at fashion– not even a little– so he had no clue whether she was right or not. And that meant he didn't know how to respond. But at least the color palette she chose suited him. Dark. Instead of responding, he just gave an interested little "Hm," to show that he was indeed paying attention.
((don’t remind me of that, please))
She looked around before calling one of the employees of the shop.
”Eh, sorry, where is the fitting room?”
”Oh, right this way miss” the staff stated, guiding them towards the fitting room.
”You, go try these on” Evelyn said, giggling a bit and handing Zeke the clothes she picked out.
((I have a question; Zeke doesn’t really have any… uhm… friends, right? Like, he doesn’t have a villain who he works with, right?))
((No. He's got no friends. He's kind of pitiful XD me too Zeke cough))
Zeke glanced down at the clothes then at Evelyn before shuffling into the fitting room. He changed quickly, and since the clothes felt fine and seem to fit relatively well, he assumed Evelyn would want to see how they looked. Or maybe he thought they made him look sexy so he wanted to make sure she saw. Either way, the only trouble he had was that he was failing to straighten the shirt collar. He eventually gave up on this and stepped out to get Evelyn's opinion on the matter.
Evelyn was on her phone at first but when Zeke stepped out, she glanced up. Her face flushed immediately, setting off all the alarms in her mind. Her expression, surprised, her eyes were locked on him.
”Oh my lord…” she murmured softly to herself.
”You look great in those…!” she managed to say, stepping closer to him and helping him fix his collar.
”Do you like them?” she asked, finishing the collar with a satisfied and blushing expression.
me too Zeke, me too…
Zeke blushed, too, though he was pleased with her reaction because it made him feel good about himself. It also made him flustered, but he was growing more to accept his feelings since the whole kiss from earlier, so he was more happy that uncomfortable. Still a little though, because he was Zeke and awkwardness seemed to be in his nature. "Thanks," he said, almost sheepishly. "Yeah, I like them."
((when you're like "lol Zeke is so awkward" and you realize that you're even more awkward so it's just like "oof"))
When hearing Zeke’s words and seeing his expression, Evelyn couldn’t help but squeal a little while having her hands cover her face. A villain can’t be this adorable. That’s not how society should work but that was what her reality was.
”Th-That’s good to hear. C’mon… you can change back to your clothes now,” she stated before looking through her purse.
Seemed a little weird how she was in a cat hoodie while having Zeke in a suit but that was fine. She wasn’t so concerned with the price of the clothes. Besides, she worked two jobs so money wasn’t much of her worries.
(( Zeke before Evelyn: is a feared hero slayer who lurks in the darkest alleys and has no qualms with slitting the throats of his victims Zeke when with Evelyn: is a blushy mess and might as well be a confused lovestruck teenager that doesn't know what to do with himself))
Zeke did as instructed, disappearing back into the changing room to return to his original apparel. When he returned, he glanced at Evelyn, and his brow furrowed a little. "You don't have to pay for these," he said. "I have money." Granted, he didn't have much, but he wasn't about to make her pay. They were probably expensive. "… What are they for, anyways?" He felt kinda dumb about the fact that this thought hadn't occurred to him sooner, but he figured he might as well as now.
((Conclusion : Evelyn can change a person just by existing beside them XD))
”Oh, you’ll see” Lynn smiled innocently before realizing what he had said at first.
”Don’t worry, I can pay for them. Plus—“ she took the clothes ”—you can pay me back in other and better ways,” she gave a teasing grin with a blush as she made her way to the cashier counter.
”That would be 159.97 dollars, miss,” the cashier employee stated. Lynn was a tad bit surprised, more because she’d picked out the best looking clothes and was still under two hundred dollars.
She handed the employee the money and awaited her change, waiting for Zeke to come to her.
Zeke's face flushed more at her comment– but his eyes snapped wide at the sound of the price. He was poor; he'd grown up poor. Never in his life had he spent almost $200 on merely a few articles of clothing. His dad was so busy spending their cash on alcohol that it was a miracle Zeke had any clothes in the first place.
Zeke came over to Evelyn, eyes still wide, and once they were out of hearing range of the cashier, whispered, "$160?! Evelyn–" He stopped there, only because he didn't know what more to say.
”Nah, don’t worry about it. Things are expensive these days…” Evelyn stated honestly, carrying the paper bags with the clothes in them. She took Zeke’s hand, smiling to reassure him that it was fine. She’d paid a lot of things which were more expensive than this $160.
"Well… Thanks." Zeke scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, unsure of what else to say. He glanced down at her hand, at her fingers intertwined with his, and blushed again. Probably because he liked it, and now that he'd accepted the fact that he liked it, he didn't know what the heck to do about it.
((yells across the room SOFT BOI!!! SOFT BOI!!!!))
Whilst the two were walking around a bit, Evelyn remembered something and turned to Zeke.
”Hey, are you hungry?” she asked. Technically speaking, they have been using a lot of energy and had only had breakfast and they were at a mall. At the same time, she didn’t really know what to have for lunch so if they were going to have lunch here, Zeke can decide.
(( VERY SOFT BOI!! But don't tell him that or he'll get upset))
Zeke paused shortly, then nodded. "Yeah. I could eat." He looked at her a moment. "But you're not gonna buy that, too. Not after you bought the clothes–" With his free hand (not the one holding Evelyn's because he wasn't going to let go of her), he felt around to see if he had his wallet– which he did, though he assumed there wasn't much cash in it because he was dirt poor. He hoped there was enough for them to get some lunch, though. He'd feel like a bum if he let Evelyn pay for everything.
Evelyn was honestly appreciating how much Zeke wanted to become a gentleman. That was cute and she did mean it. However, she knew better but she wasn’t just going to decline the offer. Not when he said it himself like that.
”Well? What do you want to eat? I’m cool with anything, really” she mentioned, looking around aimlessly while still holding onto Zeke’s hand.
Zeke flipped open his wallet and was relieved to see that he had a decent amount of cash. Not enough for anything fancy, but they were in a mall, and he knew he could afford just about anything food-wise here. Yeah, he'd probably pay for it later when he was short on cash to pay his greasy landlord, but he'd deal with that old bat yelling at him if it meant Evelyn didn't have to fork over more money on his behalf. "Um… Me too. You pick, since you went through all the trouble to make pancakes this morning," he said, glancing around the mall probably to avoid direct eye contact as he made his statement.
”Hmmmm…” Evelyn looked around in much thought. She did have something in mind but also wanted Zeke to not waste too much on her own gluttony. Truth be told, she was very much a foodie. The only thing separating her from most foodies was how thin she was.
”Does Fish’n’Chips sound good?” she asked, sending him a direct eye contact.
((Okay, so, random question, but who's your favorite OC character you've ever made? Not limited to this RP; I just mean in general. And how many OCs do you have?))
Zeke's face turned blood red, though he felt stupid since she hadn't done anything except for look at him. But he felt like she was staring into his soul, like she could see everything he felt– and it made him nervous. "That sounds– great–" he managed, offering a weak, awkward smile. He wasn't sure how he'd managed to get into this mess. It wasn't very long ago that he'd made plans to kill her, so how did he go from that to this in such a short span of time? Was he going crazy? Possibly. But he kinda liked it.
((Oh god… I have like 170+ of them and picking a favorite is kinda hard… though, as of right now, my favorite OC is probably a Viscount character of mine named Noel Y’bneth. I don’t know how to explain to you that he’s my favorite other than to give you one of his recent quotes…))
((”You didn’t receive this gift of life to cling onto the past. What’s happened has happened and you can’t change that. The only thing you can do now is to stand your ground, and don’t let the same thing happen twice. That’s what life is all about”))
”Sweet!” Evelyn was practically hugging him at his point before realizing that they were in the middle of a mall. She blushed and quickly took him to where her favorite spot was which, surprise surprise, wasn’t packed spot. Not a lot of people were present in and outside the shop.
As she walked inside, the employee at the cashier looked up and offered Evelyn and her… ‘boyfriend’ a sweet smile.
”Two salmon and chips, please,” a weird choice but that was her favorite.
The employee nodded, motioning to one of the empty tables where she and her significant other could sit at to wait for their food.
((Well he sounds pretty epic just from the quote, so I'd say you made a good choice. I also have 170 characters and that's not including those limited to Notebook.ai. I have about 200 if you include those. Most of mine are in universes I have meticulously crafted and put 1000000000 hours of worldbuilding into because I'm me.))
We all know what Zeke is likely doing the entire time; blushing profusely. He preferred the slightly less crowded atmosphere, considering how reclusive he generally was. He sank back into the seat, unsure of what to do with himself or say. This was pretty much a date, he realized, since they'd attempted to go on a "date" earlier in the day, and it backfired. But then there was the kiss, and– yeah, that happened, so now he wasn't sure what to think. He might've been an adult, but he'd never been on a real date before or had a crush on anyone ahem, so he was thoroughly inexperienced.
