"Aww don't be so sappy," Cicada responded softly with a little smile. She wasn't quite down to the cone yet, but she was getting quite close, "We still have the walk back you know?"
"Aww don't be so sappy," Cicada responded softly with a little smile. She wasn't quite down to the cone yet, but she was getting quite close, "We still have the walk back you know?"
"Yeah- but the longer I take, the more time I get to spend with you. I'm happier around you." Phoenix grinned, picking up a napkin to wipe his face. He hadn't finished, but his face was starting to grow cold. "I don't care how sappy I sound."
Cicada blushed lightly as she went to hit him lightly being careful not to spill either her or his ice cream cone. She let out another light laugh, "I should have figured. But did you consider me taking a while?"
"Nope. But I didn't think you would- or didn't assume at least." Phoenix shrugged with a smile. He didn't really think about it, assuming she probably wanted to go back sooner than later. But he wouldn't say that. "Unless you were planning on it, I doubted you would."
"Not intentionally, but I can't eat ice cream very fast," Cicada responded with another laugh as she smiled over at him. She finally made it to the cone, "Sensitive teeth ya know?"
"Aww, right. I get ice cream headaches pretty quickly, but I kind of just got use to it. I don't typically have self control when it comes to something I really like." Phoenix admitted with a light laugh. He seemed happy, the little bit of sugar making him excited.
Cicada continued to laugh as she looked at him. She tilted her head a little as she looked at him. Her voice was teasing a sign that she was recovering from her earlier episode, "Soooo you don't have any self control when it comes to me?"
“I mean… yeah. I try to, but sometimes keeping myself from hugging you- or affection in general- is difficult.” Phoenix hummed, giving her a sweet smile. “But I try my best. I know it’s not really your thing.”
"I know, and I appreciate it," Cicada responded mirroring his smile. She took a bite of the waffle cone smiling at the delicious taste and texture, "Really, I do. It's kind of sweet."
"Sweeter than that ice cream, or not quite there?" Phoenix hummed, continuing at his own ice cream. "This is really good… I need to get ice cream more often." He mumbled to himself, smiling softly as he did.
"Almost as sweet as the ice cream," Cicada told him teasingly. She gently tapped his nose before laughing a little, "And if you want to get ice cream we could come here once a week if that's fine with you."
Not flinching when she touched him, he seemed pleased at her suggestion. "Mm- really?" Phoenix asked, sounding quite thrilled at the idea. His smile pulled up more as he sat there with his cone. "I'd like that. Even if it'll probably give me diabetes, from all the sugar."
“Hey if you get diabetes, I’m getting diabetes,” Cicada laughed as she smiled at him. She was glad he liked her suggestion, “But really I think we should do it.”
"Then it looks like we're going to get ice cream every week." Phoenix grinned, pausing for a moment as his head started to hurt. "Mm, does Friday work for you? That's probably the best day to do it."
"Friday works great for me!" Cicada responded as she looked at him. She had a big smile on and poked his arm as she got close to the bottom of her cone, "You doing okay?"
Phoenix glanced up to her, and nodded a little. "Yeah, I'm alright. Why do you ask?" He hummed lightly, trying to tell himself to slow down when he started up again. As he thought about, he realized what she was talking about. "Oh- I just ate it too fast. I told you, I have self control issues." He laughed, attempting to be more careful.
"Oh okay!" Cicada replied with a light laugh as she watched him. She smiled over as she finished up her cone, "That makes sense. Probably got a brainfreeze right?"
"Yup, right on the nose." Phoenix chirped, knowing he was coming to the end of his cone pretty quickly. Even with forced self control, he was eating pretty quickly. "Mm, I'm allowed to walk with you to your dorm, right?"
"Yeah, I would like it if you did that," Cicada responded softly as she began to stand up so they could go. She figured he would be done in a moment or two, "Oooor I could walk you to your dorm?"
"I don't want you to have to walk alone," Phoenix started, glancing up to her when she stood. He was still smiling as he finished up the last little bit of his ice cream. "But I mean, I won't argue if that's what you want to do."
"If you don't mind me doing it, I would love to do that," Cicada watched him with a little smile and offered a hand to him once she was done. She let out a little laugh, "I can walk a little by myself you know?"
"I just want to make sure you're safe… I know it's stupid, I just…" Phoenix sighed softly, taking her hand after standing. Lacing their fingers together, he tossed his napkin away. "I don't want anything bad happening. To you, or anyone for that matter."
"I, I understand," Cicada responded after a moment or two of silence. She let out a long sigh as she leaned against him with her eyes closing for just a moment, "I guess it might be better if you walked me to my dorm."
Phoenix sighed softly, pulling her close to himself after putting an arm over her shoulder. "We don't have to do that. I just want to protect you- and I know I can't protect you from everything." He responded softly, leaning over to kiss the top of her head.
Cicada smiled up at him as she leaned into him. She thought for a moment before letting out another soft sigh, "I know. But I'm not exactly in the best mindset so you walking with me might be for the better."
