"Yeah I do," Cicada responded feeling her pocket to make sure she had it on her. After some of the shit she's dealt with it was better to just keep an ID on her at all times, "Do you need me to pay for the coffee? Cause I'll be happy to pay for you."
Cringing a little bit, he dropped his head and sighed. "I can't believe it's come to this." Phoenix said dramatically, glancing over to her with a smirk. "But yeah… I left my wallet back at the dorm."
"Then I will gladly pay for you. Finally, I will be the one paying," Cicada declared just as dramatically. She raised her fist to the air with a big grin, "Success!"
"You shall not reach victory again. I'm determined not to forget my wallet again." Dropping his voice into a more sinister tone, he chuckled lightly. "But thanks, Cicada. Honestly, if you wouldn't refuse it, I'd love to pay you back."
"Nope, can't pay me back," Cicada shook her head with a light grin and a chuckle. She enjoyed seeing him try to play the bad guy, "If I can't pay you back then you can't pay me back."
"Mmm, but that's different." Phoenix insisted with a light pout. His childish demeanor only made him cuter, as his auburn red curls fell in his face. "I'm offering to pay fully. This was me asking you to, because I forgot my wallet."
"Yeah, and I would have tried to pay anyway like I always do," Cicada responded as her heart melted. Fucking hell he had no right being that cute. The little curls in his face, his little put, just fucking everything about him. If Cicada hadn't already had a crush on him she would have gotten one right then and there, "So just let me pay for you alright?"
Sighing lightly, he dropped his shoulders a bit. "Fineeee… but I get to pay next time. I don't want you using your money on me." Phoenix mumbled, straightening his back as they continued on. "It just doesn't feel right. Especially when I know I'm capable of paying you."
"Fine, I can agree to that. Now you know how I feel when you pay for me," Cicada responded bumping him little bit with a smile, "Come on. Let's go get coffee. Besides I'm paying for all the alcohol on Friday."
"Shoot- I forgot about that." He mumbled with another sigh. "If there's any damage afterwards, I offer to pay to fix it. It seems only fair." Phoenix hummed, leading her off the campus over to the cross walk.
"That's fine, hopefully, there won't be though," Cicada told him as she followed after. The only risk would be her losing grip of her powers, and she already figured that wouldn't happen, "Anyway have you asked you about alcohol preference already?"
"Mm, think so. I think I said anything that wouldn't kill me." Phoenix laughed lightly, glancing both ways before starting off down the cross walk. "Dunno if that's technically possible. Because even water can kill you."
"Got it, so maybe I'll buy vodka, maybe I won't," Cicada responded with a little shrug and grin as she stepped across and hopped up the sidewalk once more. She hummed a little, "I promise nothing will kill you though."
"You're sure? I quite value my life." Phoenix hummed, watching her when they made their way across the street. "Enough not to end it, at least. Though I shouldn't be saying anything. I drank redbull and coffee together."
"I'm sure," Cicada smiled over at him. She debated letting go of his hand and walking backwards for a moment before deciding she liked holding his hand more, "And yes, that was a poor decision on his part."
"Well, then I'm trusting you." Phoenix smiled, reaching the coffee shop and pushing the door open for her. "My life is in your hands. It is quite fragile." He joked, letting her lead him into the store.
"Isn't all life fragile?" Cicada asked him with a slight laugh as she entered the coffee shop. She began to make her way towards the counter, "Why don't you order first?"
"Alright, I'm assuming because you don't know what you want. Right?" Phoenix asked with a teasing smirk. Glancing up at the waitress, he smiled and glanced at the menu. "Can I just get a plain vanilla latte?"
Cicada made a mock offended face at his comment. She couldn't keep the smile from her face, however. The waitress nodded and took down the order. Cicada ordered after him pulling out her wallet, "And I just want a black coffee."
Smiling a bit, Phoenix watched in silence as she began to pay. "If that's all, then it'll be 13.50." The woman hummed, taking Cicada's card when given to her. Once paid for, she handed it, and a recite back.
Cicada took her card and recite back before pulling Phoenix towards a table, “Thirteen dollars for two coffees? This better be good coffee.”
"My offer still stand." Phoenix hummed, sitting down and resting his chin on his palms. He was mostly joking, but if she wanted him to pay, he would. "How much was mine?"
"You aren't paying for anything," Cicada told him sitting down across from him. She knew he was joking, probably, hopefully, "I'm just not used to expensive coffee."
Phoenix sighed a little, and nodded. "I know, but can I at least know how much my coffee was?" He asked again, reaching out for her recite. "I won't pay you, I just wanna know."
"I think yours was seven dollars," Cicada said glancing at the recite but let him have it anyways, "But you can see for yourself anyways. And mine was six dollars. Still a lot for just coffee."
