Can you refresh the plot? I don't remember it super well, but I think I liked it.
Nvm, I found the plot and I like it! I'm ready to start whenever, can I be the girl?
Of course, lgbtq?
I was thinking straight.
ok, that's fine! who's starting?
I can!
Kenzie tucked her hair behind her ear, curling into her favorite chair in the public library. It was quiet now, the few strangers were the same considerate few who were always there on Monday nights. She didn't know their names, but she had gotten comfortable being around them. Comfortable enough, in fact, to ignore them completely and fall away into whichever book captured her attention. She spent nearly an hour each night in this chair, with whichever book she happened to pick up from the shelf.
Kieth sighed and played his guitar, getting lost in the sound as it filled the empty hall. He grinned and played louder, gaining confidence and holding onto the strand of hope that no one would come in
Kenzie blinked and looked up from her book. The faint strains of a guitar broke her out of her reverie, and she resented that. She stood slowly, stretching out her arms above her head before setting down her book. Just because school was out for the day didn't give people a right to play music that loudly in the building.
Keith stopped playing for a second, glancing around and running a hand through his wild hair. He climbed up on stage and sat in the middle of the floor, grateful for the Erie darkness, save for the emergency lights above. He started to play once more, closing his eyes and letting his hands naturally glide over the strings
(Sorry I've been gone, my computer broke and I probably won't be on again for a while.)
Kenzie waved to the librarian as she walked out of the library on the campus. She followed the music, slowly beginning to appreciate the level of difficulty in the piece. She wasn't much of a musician, due to too many different teachers in her younger years, but she could still tell when someone was talented. She got closer to the dark room, seeing the faint shadowy silhouette of a boy, a man, with a guitar.
(it's ok! Don't worry about it. Hope your computer doesn't crash again!)
He finished a piece and continued onto another one. He took a deep breath and started to play. This song had a slight romantic tone to it, along with some Spanish music influence.
Kenzie paused outside of the door, to lean against the solid wall and just listen for a moment. She remembered snippets of similar music, the music her father had listened to when she'd been little. She started unconsciously nodding along, moving slightly to glance into the room.
Keith nodded to the music, hair falling in his eyes. He sang a few of the lyrics, a few in French, a few in Spanish and then back to french
Kenzie shivered when she heard his voice. Maybe I should leave him alone… Her hand moved to grasp the strap of her backpack. She stayed there for a moment longer, leaning her shoulder against the door frame and tilting her head just enough to see into the room. Her hair fell down, a curtain over her shoulder.
"je t'aime mon amour…" He finished off, striking the guitar one last time before setting it down. The bell rang for the next class and Kieth got up from his spot. He put his guitar away and swept his hair to the side. Glancing up, he saw a girl in the door, watching. He grinned and saluted her with two fingers before hoping off stage
Kenzie bit her lip, flinching away from the door and hiding behind the wall for a moment. She took a deep breath, pulling herself together. She stepped into the door way again. "That sounded really nice."
He glanced back up as he saw the girl appear in the doorway again, the light from the hall shining in his green eyes "thanks, do you play?" He asked, jerking his thumb to the guitar
Kenzie hesitated before taking another step in. "Not well. I took lessons, but never stayed into it. How long have you played?" Her eyes flicked around the room, but always came back to rest on him.
"I'm sure you would have been amazing at it. I can see the passion you have for music in your eyes." Keith glanced around to make sure everything was put back in place before looking back at the girl in front of him "about 5 years."
Kenzie wrapped her arms loosely around herself. "I could have. I still play piano, a little. I was never devoted enough to an instrument to keep going for that long." She remembered hours of her parents trying to teach her, her younger self hopelessly confused until the sabotaged her own learning.
He nodded, "want to give it a try?" He asked with a tilt of his head "I could teach you." He offered
Kenzie hesitated, looking around. "I.. I guess so. Thank you." She walked in, her steps slightly uneven and nervous. "If you're sure."
He nodded "of course, Mr Geano lets me in here all the time. As long as I keep teinking place clean." He waved her over to the instruments "choose your weapon."
Kenzie breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a piano in the corner. "Actually, over here." She slipped to the corner, sitting down on the piano bench and lifting up the top. "I do have a small amount of musical experience." She shook her hair off her shoulders, taking a deep breath before playing a scale up and down, her fingers flying across the keys. Her eyes were closed and she leaned into the music, swaying slightly with each movement as her hands jumped over one another and back.
