"Oh, uh, really?" Out of habit, she tugged her hair back over her face.
"Oh, uh, really?" Out of habit, she tugged her hair back over her face.
He leaned forward and once again brushed it away, smiling softly. "Yeah. We're a gaggle of misfits and weirdos, and something tells me you're just the piece we need."
At this, Laura blushed semi-visibly. "I-I… Uh…" Dammit, Laura!
(Oooh, he should take her to meet them! Like right now! wink wink)
((u brilliant bastard
Nicky stood suddenly, grabbing her hand and the notebook and pulling her onto her feet. "We should go now! Aaron already left, so we'll have to walk, but that means they'll be at the house!"
She gasped in surprise. "N-Now? Uh… okay."
He laughed, wrapping an arm loosely around her shoulder and waving the one with the notebook dramatically. "Come on princess, let's go meet the unruly gang of knights that are assigned to you."
Her eyes widened, and she reached for her notebook quickly.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. Here." He handed it over to her, not moving his arm. If she wanted to though, all she would have to do is shrug it off.
She hugged her notebook quickly to her chest and only then realized his arm was around her. She blushed a little and her hair fell over her eyes. "Uh.. let's go then," she said, slipping her phone and earbuds into her pocket.
"Alright!" He steered her down the path and out of the park, heading down the sidewalk.
She followed his lead, clutching her notebook like it was her only lifeline and she was an inch from death.
"Hey, what's today?"
"Uh, Wednesday. Why?"
"Wednesday…Lily's making tacos tonight…" He muttered to himself, fingers tapping rhythmically on Laura's arm.
She blushed just a little. "Uh, how far is it?"
Nicky looked up, glancing around in slight surprise. "'Bout a block now. It's taco night!"
"You said," she told him with a small smile.
"Oh, did I?" He looked bewildered, but shrugged it off. "That's a good thing! Lily makes the best tacos ever! And she always make an insane amount, so sometimes we invite a couple neighbors over, and we have a taco fest, a fiestaco, and it's great!"
At this, Laura tense a bit. More people? "O-Oh, that sounds nice." Dammit, Laura.
"I think most of our neighbors are out of town though, so you might just have to eat more." He joked, fingers picking up speed and slowing back down.
She enjoyed his touch, the soft motions of his fingers… It relaxed her in an unexplainable way. "Well, that's fine too."
((im hittin the hay in about 8 minutes
"You allergic t' anythin'?"
(Aww! :(
"N-No…"
"That's good, 'cause I think we used the last epi-pen the day before yesterday." Nicky said casually.
Laura's eyes widened. "Y-You're serious?"
