Laura waited outside for him. She'd taken off the bathing suit and put her regular clothes back on. In addition, she'd taken careful measures to cover up all her tattoos. Her father didn't like them.

"Hey, sorry I took so long! They were under my pillow." Nicky apologized, looking embarrassed as he shut the door behind him.
"It's fine," she assured him with a smile that didn't spread to her eyes.
"Are you sure you don't want to crash here?" He asked, one last time.
"I'm fine," she answered quickly. "My dad is expecting me."
He nodded, not at all believing her, and led the way to his car in the driveway. And old, beat up Toyota, that looked like something straight out of a scrap yard.
Laura tensed a bit when she saw the car, but she approached it and slowly got in the passenger seat.
(I'm tweaking her backstory a bit, just as far as the "sister accident" part)
"She don't look like much, but she runs pretty well. I haven't been able to fix her up on the outside, but everything on the inside runs perfect." Nicky said fondly, patting the hood of the car before sliding into the driver's sear.
Laura nodded slowly. Her hands were clenched tightly in her lap. "Okay."
Nicky looked over as he started up the engine, and shot her a smile. "I'll even drive slow, if you want?"
"Please," she said quietly, looking over at him with a shaky smile.
"Gotcha." Nicky knew he was a horrible and reckless driver, but with Laura there next to him, took extra care to remember his driving instructors words. He pulled out of the driveway slowly, and debated offering her his hand to hold onto when they hit the bump from the curb.
Laura shrieked in surprise and quickly looked down. Oh my God, you're such a wussy…
"Sorry! I forgot that was there…" He apologized quickly, reaching out to give her hand a squeeze while he muttered something about Aaron not knowing how to park.
"Oh, i-i-it's okay," she stammered furiously.
"Let me know if I'm going to fast." He said, squeezing her hand one last time before putting both hands back on the wheel.
She nodded slowly. "O-Okay."
He fell quiet as he drove, occasionally looking over at Laura. His eyes showed his concern, and it was obvious he didn't want her to leave.
Laura licked her lips. "Y-You can let me out here," she said softly. They'd just arrived at her street. Her house was further down so she'd have to walk just a little.
Nicky unbuckled and reached over her to dig around the glove box. "I need your hand, babe."
She blinked and slowly offered her hand to him.
He pulled out a pen, scribbling his number on her hand. "Call me, if you need anything, or just want to talk. I'll answer."
Laura smiled weakly. "Thanks, Nicky." She got out of the car and starting walking down the street.
Nicky watched her go, letting his truck idle there on the side of the street. At first, it was just to watch her get to her house, but he stayed there even after she'd gone in, worry etched onto his features.
Laura hesitantly stepped into the house, trying to make as little noise as possible. It didn't work.
"C'mere, bitch." Her father's slurred voice reached her from the living room.
Shaking, Laura entered the room and saw her father standing there, his eyes narrowed menacingly.
"You are supposed to come home right after school."
"I-It's summer, D-Dad," she answered quietly.
"Ain't there summer school to keep sluts like you outta trouble in the summer?" he demanded.
"Th-There is, but–"
"Shut up!" he snarled, lashing a hand out to strike her trembling form hard across the face.
Laura shrieked and stumbled backwards. She tripped over the carpet and fell to the floor in front of him. Her father towered over her. "Listen to me when I'm taking to you, bitch!" he snapped at her.
