"What?" she asked, incredibly confused.
"What?" she asked, incredibly confused.
"Off limits zone. We can't spray you in here." Renee explained, setting down her gun and hopping on to the porch. "It's like a safe zone kinda."
"Oh, noted," Laura said breathlessly. "Where's Lilly?"
"Here!" A quiet voice chimed behind them, where Lilly was curled up on a lawn chair.
"Are you okay?" Laura asked her, looking briefly back at where the boys were half-wrestling in the mud.
Nicky was laughing as he got Aaron in a head lock, and proceeded to shove his brother's face in the mud.
Lily laughed, nodding. "I'm alright. Theses guys go all out for water battles though, and I can only take so much of that."
"I can't blame you," Laura laughed a little bit.
Renee shook like a dog before plopping down next to Lilly, curling around her so they both could fit. "Boys. They're idiots."
Laura looked back over at Nicky. "Loveable idiots."
Renee grinned. "Looks like Nicky isn't the only one who's whipped."
Nicky had gotten a hold of the hose, and was blasting Aaron and laughing maniacal.
Laura blushed. "Oh, uh…"
Lilly gestured for her to sit on one of the free lawn chairs, smiling softly. "Don't worry, we won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe with us."
She blushed and sat down in the chair. "Th-Thanks… I've never been in a relationship before…" Okay, lie.
"Really?" Renee asked, shocked. "But you're so sweet, and pretty! I'd be asking you out myself if-" She cut off, cheeks heating up as she glanced at Lilly.
Laura remembered what Nicky had said about getting Lilly and Renee together. She smiled genuinely. "I ship it," she whispered, a shy grin on her face.
Lilly caught that, even though Renee hadn't, and turned a bright red.
Nicky skipped up, covered head to toe in mud, and planted a kiss on Laura's cheek. He didn't pull away right after, staying to whisper in her ear. "You turned Lilly into a tomato. Can I ask how?"
"Can I tell you later?" she whispered in reply.
Nicky thought for a moment and nodded. "Alright, I'm holding you to it."
"Nicky, you are not stepping foot inside like that. Laura, d'you mind hosing him off?" Renee asked, regaining some composure.
"No problem," she said with a smirk.
He pouted, but left to grab the hose, returning a moment later. "Y'all are no fun."
Laura giggled. "On the contrary. Lilly, mind helping?"
Nicky rolled his eyes, handing her the hose as Lilly carefully extricated herself from Renee and stood.
Laura smiled sweetly. "Stay still." She looked over at Lilly. "Ready?"
"What do you need me to do?" Lilly asked, at the same time Renee spoke. "Not on the porch."
Nicky made a face, stepping back a good two feet from the porch.
"Can you turn it on please?" she asked, aiming the hose at Nicky.
