"Our piping is shit, so right is hot, left is cold!" He called as he made his way to the clear side of the counter.
"Our piping is shit, so right is hot, left is cold!" He called as he made his way to the clear side of the counter.
"What temperature do you want it?" she asked.
"Hot as balls. I'm kidding, cold."
She blushed and turned the faucet to the left.
Nicky hummed to himself and laid everything out, grabbing a large serving spoon.
"How full?" she asked when it was about halfway.
"The two quart line." He said, dodging another beer tab.
She watched it fill and stopped the water appropriately. As she was walking out, a beer tab hit her shoulder, and she gasped quietly.
"Aaron! You okay, Laura?"
"Yes, I'm fine," she assured him softy.
"Good." And with that, he was tossing a cup at Aaron, who narrowly managed to avoid being hit in the head.
She grabbed his wrist. "Don't do that. He didn't mean to hit me."
Nicky shot a glare at his brother. "Apologize, jackass."
"Stop it, it's fine, really."
"Sorry, Laura." Aaron really did look apologetic.
"I-It's alright. Really." She smiled shyly at him.
Nicky finally relaxed, and turned to Laura. "Sorry."
"Why? You have nothing to apologize for," she said softly. She was giving them a glimpse of her true personality.
"For him, and flipping out…" He rubbed the back of his neck, looking down.
She cupped his face gently. "It's alright," she assured him softly. She hadn't been like this in years…
He looked up, meeting her eyes. "You sure?"
Laura nodded shyly.
He reached up, placing his hand gently over hers. "Alright then."
She blushed and looked away.
"Hey, would the two love birds on isle 10 please remember that we are in the process of making dinner?" Aaron shouted from where he was on the couch.
"We? More like Lilly, Laura, and I. I don't see your ass anywhere near the kitchen."
