(d-dayum…)
(I might need that tiktok lmaooo)
Ollie chittered to himself, and went up the stairs instead, sniffing around the upper floor. There had to be a more ideal place to put his things.
He stopped again, shaking his small head as he sat backwards. What am I doing?! I can't hide forever… especially from… He looked at the woman, brushing his face with his hands. Awwww…. but she likes me so much like… like this. I dunno what she'll think if I shift…
(Haha, all my handles are the same @simpingforevebest)
(Also, I'm working on getting better pictures for her template so give me a hot second)
Anna hummed to herself, alternating between sipping on her wine and typing on her laptop. She glanced at the stairs and saw her kinkajou watching her. "What are you doing up there?" she asked with amusement. "You'd better not go into my room."
(I'll have to follow you! XD
(Ooh, I'm excited…)
Ollie sighed. I wouldn't do that. Not in your territory. Though, he continued up the stairs, watching out for the room that would smell the strongest of Anna. Where to hide… where to hide…
(That would be great! :D All my current stuff is about Eve's character from Fate: The Winx Saga, Farah Dowling)
"Where are you–" Anna called, interrupted by a knock on the door. Her face turned serious, and with trembling hands, she set her wine glass and computer down on the coffee table. She slowly walked over to the door and put her hand on the knob, but didn't turn it.
(I seriously need to watch that!)
Ollie heard the knock, his ears pivoting toward the source of the noise as he quickly ran back down the stairs, curling around Anna's legs. Even though the barely knew her, he felt the need to protect her. No matter what that represented itself in.
(It's so good!!!)
Anna's eyes widened. "No, little one," she hissed as she knelt down to pick up the kinkajou and put it behind her kitchen island. "Stay here."
Ollie growled, but listened, sitting right behind the island as he peeked out. That's still not gonna keep me back…
(So better pictures for Anna are up, but Notebook is being a b***h and not letting me add more right now even though I have space. Anyway, yeah… Better pictures are up, it what I'm trying to say)
Anna answered the door and immediately stiffened. Outside was a man with a dark jacket and a dominating figure. "Good evening. I'm looking for Harry Clayton," he said roughly.
"I have no idea where he is," Anna replied, lifting her chin and widening her eyes in warning.
"Perhaps I can come inside and discuss it with you–" He took a step toward the crack in the door
"No," Anna replied quickly, her body blocking him from entering. "Absolutely not. Who are you?"
"Well…" The man said slowly. "Another time then."
Anna nodded and was about to shut the door when the man said something that startled her.
"Have a nice night, Anna."
She quickly shut the door after that and locked it with trembling fingers.
Ollie raced toward the door as it shut, growling and hissing like a, well, a wild animal.
He panted, growling at the door even after the man was long gone, scratching at it and looking back at Anna.
I can make sure he never comes back. I know full well what my bite can do.
Anna backed away, afraid at the display first. Then she realized it wasn't a wild animal for her to fear. Her kinkajou was protecting her. "Aw, little one," Anna murmured. "It's alright." Though her racing heart said otherwise. She slipped her phone out of her pocket and called her ex-husband without thinking.
He picked up on the first ring. "Anna?"
"Why is there a bailiff at my door?" Anna demanded with a tremble in her voice.
"Okay. I’m on my way," he responded, and Anna could tell he was already in his car, driving, when she'd called.
"Don’t worry. I handled it," she said quietly. "But please. No more, Harry." It was obvious this wasn't the first time she'd pleaded with her husband as he hung up. She put her phone away and sighed. "He never listens to me…"
Ollie growled, hearing the unpleasant man's voice making his fur stand up. Don't call him! Don't make that decision! He thought, only wishing he could be human for just a moment. Extremely discontented, and angered that he couldn't protect the woman, he scrambled back upstairs into a musty smelling room.
It smelt faintly of Anna, but mostly carried the scent of… old cologne.
Anna blinked and followed the kinkajou up her stairs. "Where are you going?" she murmured, and widened her eyes when she saw the creature enter her bedroom. "Ahh, what did I say about the bedroom, huh?" she asked, hurrying to close the door.
Ollie noticed the clothes- clothes that couldn't possibly be Anna's, and a bit big for him, but still, clothes! He grinned, circling the room as he sniffed around. This would be the perfect place to hide out, and perhaps look presentable when he, well, presented himself.
Then, the realization hit him. The kinkajou stumbled back, the smell of the room and the clothing suddenly becoming pungent. You dumbass! She was mad about… something! About that man! It's him!
Anna hesitated, breathing in the old, lingering smell that reminded her so painfully of her husband. Ex-husband. She blinked quickly and hugged herself. "Please get out," she said, too many emotions embedded in her tone. "I told you not to come in here." So many little things in this room screamed "HARRY!" and it was why his estranged wife couldn't bring herself to sleep in her bed anymore. Every night since the divorce was finalized, she'd found herself curled up tightly on her couch.
Ollie shivered at the sight of Anna being so hurt. That man… He quickly darted out of the room, giving no regard to trying to act animalistic as he gently touched the woman's leg. Are you okay?? Im so sorry…
Anna rubbed her eyes and looked down at her kinkajou. She picked it up and carried it out of the room in her arms. Shutting the door soundly behind her, Anna headed back down the stairs. "Please don't go in there," Anna whispered, only half to her kinkajou. "I can't bear it. I still love him." She hated herself for admitting it, but she did. Her love for Harry was still there, but the divorce had been for a reason. "I love him, but he made too many mistakes. He's a gambler. We nearly lost everything, and… I couldn't take it anymore."
Ollie gave Anna a concerned look, snuggling against her as he chittered gently. Love him?? Love him?! I can’t let you love him!! He hurt you!! You can’t even go into your own room!! it was now clear Oliver needed to shift. He needed to show her what real love was like.
Anna sighed, setting her kinkajou down in his towel bundle. "Please stay there. No more exploring for today." She picked her wine glass up off the table and headed to the kitchen to get the bottle back out and refill it. She watched the red liquid with a sigh and when the glass was nearly brimming, she stopped pouring. After the cork was back on the bottle and it was put away, Anna turned, took a sip, and immediately set it back down on the countertop. She propped her elbows on the counter, buried her face in her hands, and began to cry quietly. Her shoulders heaved with sobs she tried desperately to hold in as her anguish increased.
Ollie could only watch as she put him - who he was sure was her only comfort, far away as she began to down the alcohol. His small body seized up with fear, and utter sadness, as Anna crumpled in agony.
Oliver nervously approached her, wanting nothing more than to console her, make her happy again. He climbed up onto the counter, taking her face in his still small hands, and pressed their foreheads together.
Anna stopped crying for a moment, startled at her kinkajou's movements. She sniffed and looked it right in the eyes as it rested its forehead against hers in a strangely human-like manner. "Oh, little one," she murmured, her voice breaking as she tried to talk. "I can't do it anymore. I'm still in love with him, but he is so out-of-love with me. What did I do wrong? I tried to be a good wife. I cooked dinners and gave him everything I thought he wanted. But all he did was gamble! I couldn't bear it. The risks he was taking were too much. I was afraid we'd loose the house. Did I make a mistake?" She hiccuped and covered her lips. "Excuse me," she mumbled.
Ollie started to cry, his form shifting without him even noticing. (Luckily, based on the way it worked, he was still in his clothes from before.) He held her head closer, shaking his head as slow tears rolled down his face. She was after someone who wasn't worthy of her love. "You did nothing wrong. Nothing. He does not deserve you, hermosa. He should have never interfered in your life."
Ollie smiled, liking how the words sounded. Words… sounded?? Words!!!
He stepped back, eyes wild with fear as he looked down. Shit… shit shit shit-
( sorry for interrupting but this just made me say oh fuck in class XD)
(Stahpppp XD Oh my god)
Anna's eyes widened, and she screamed. "Oh my God!" She panicked, reaching for something – anything – and the first thing her fingers close around was the handle of a knife. "Stay back!" she demanded, though she was backing away quickly already. Her entire body was trembling from sadness and shock. "Who are you? What are you doing in my house? Where did you come from? Who are you?"
