Aster snickered.
“You know that I’d want the girl,” he mentioned. “If you’re really that hungry,” Aster reached into his pocket and got out two very small marble-like spheres. “These marbles can store humans inside them once you touch these against their skin,” he mentioned as he handed two to Emi.
“You probably know what to do,”
"Oh, nice," Emi said, mildly impressed. "Where'd you get something like this?"
He had probably stolen it.
"Well, I'll see you later." She strolled toward her two victims, getting them into the spheres easily and quickly, without anyone noticing.
Aster went his way as well, getting the girl’s body into the marble quite easily before he headed back to Emi.
“I think we can go home now?” He asked, keeping the marble in his shirt’s pocket. He was honestly anxious about the marble falling on the ground because that would be quite a scenario.
"Probably. They're most likely looking for us." Emi put each of the marbles into a seperate pocket and started back home. "Think we can make it there before they notice that we're missing?"
“Hopefully.” Aster answered plainly, following her steps. It was still imprinted in his mind, the small moment he got to experience earlier. He wasn’t going to lie to himself, he wanted to experience it more often than not. It was… intoxicating, to say the least.
"Well, then we should run, shouldn't we?" Unaware of his thoughts, Emi started to move faster. She could be blissfully unobservant when she wanted to be.
“We should,” Aster, again, replied plainly. He didn’t really know what else to say. One of the things he hated the most about himself was how inconveniently distracted he could be at times. And the Langsuir in front of him was clearly one huge distraction.
Emi turned and raised an eyebrow. "Well, okay then. Should we make it a game? Give it a risk at the end, or a prize?" She smirked. "If I win, you go hunting with me again for a week. If I lose…" she shook her head. "Well, if you win, you can chose whatever you want as a prize."
“Alright, I’ll play your little game,” Aster said casually. His mind though? He was coming up with an idea, anything, that could have him win. Sure, what he had in mind was going to be a bit horrible but, come on, he wasn’t going to miss this chance to… his mind was running wild at this point.
“Tell me when to start,”
"Now." Emi burst into a run, giving him no time to prepare himself. She stretched her long legs and pushed her pace as fast as she could. She couldn't lose. Not now.
Aster nearly fell when she signaled the start. Thanks to the souls that he’d consumed earlier, he was much more refined now than ever. He started to sprint as well, but at a speed that would be seen as quite… ridiculous. It looked almost as if he was flying rather than running. His legs were running fast though he felt his mind running faster. He eventually caught up to Emi halfway back home.
Emi felt him behind her, and increased her speed, as much as she could, anyway. All that blood was sloshing inside her, making her drowsy. She shook her head. She wasn't sure if she wanted to win or not. But then again, this was Aster, so whatever he thought of…
The speed at which Emi reached was, honestly, quite surprising. However, it wasn’t something Aster hadn’t seen before. On one hand, he wanted to forcefully lose just so Emi would be satisfied… on the other, he thought he knew the Langsuir enough to realize that if he’d purposefully lose, she’d swing at him. By swing, he wasn’t sure if it was going to be a bat or a knife. Either way, he sped up, eventually outrunning her. He gave her a wink as the last few meters came into sight and, of course, he’d reached it first… barely.
He was immediately on his knees, breathing heavily from the exercise he’d preformed.
“Good… good one…” he commented with a small chuckle.
“Well, rules are rules dear Emi,” he smirked at the end of his wordings, wiping the sweat that was pouring down his forehead.
"Damn it!" Emi shouted, although she wasn't as mad as she thought she'd be. "That's not nice, you know," she said, pouting, crossing her arms. "Ladies first, you know?"
She raised an eyebrow at his tone. "Of course rules are rules. What is the prize you'd like to claim?"
(Sh-Should I just go all out with Aster or… fanfic writing before replying was clearly not a good idea…)
(Go all out XD. I'm good with anything. Well, maybe it was…)
(You said it yourself!!!)
Aster slowly got up and pretended to think for a bit. He tapped his chin for a moment, acting as if he hadn’t had an idea in mind yet. After a short moment, he grabbed onto Emi’s shoulders, looking her straight in the eyes.
”You,” he answered plainly…
(I did, and I have no regrets. XD)
"I don't think that counts," Emi said, although she didn't try and resist him. Part of her just wanted to see what he would do. Another part was screaming at her to fight against him, to make him let her go, and the last, biggest part, was acutely aware of every single place they touched. She shivered slightly before she could stop herself.
Aster let out a small smirk.
“Well, you didn’t specify so I’m allowing it,” being a trickster, Aster was always prepared for situations like these where he could take some sort of advantage. Of course, he wasn’t going to do anything horrible to Emi. At least, not something that would make her feel horrible. Although, he did question himself about what he was doing. It seemed morally wrong somewhat.
“Well? You’re always teasing me about not having an actual relationship…”
As he finished… he’d realized that he’d messed up big time. That wasn’t something you would say so casually in a situation… like this one.
"Am I now?" Emi raised an eyebrow at him. "Well, you've never taken me seriously, so why now? I mean, I am pretty amazing." She would have shrugged, except he was holding her shoulders, and she didn't really want him to let go. It was surprising. She hadn't gotten mad, like she was pretty sure she would have. She was fine. It was strange, and not like her at all.
Aster was a bit taken back by the response. How the hell was she so smooth even in this situation… that would be a question he’d continue to ask himself until he gets an answer.
“You want me to take this seriously, is that what you’re implying?” He asked with a grin on his face. His nature was coming out on its own. But of course, he didn’t expect the Langsuir to be so easy…
"No, that's what you're implying," she said, eyes flashing crimson.
She didn't sound annoyed at all. On the contrary, her blood thrummed with excitement. This was just a challenge, right? Nothing too huge… but in some corner of her mind, she knew this wasn't true. He was taking this seriously. It wasn't like the demon to do this… was it? Emi was self-centered at the best of times, so she wouldn't have noticed.
But… he was her friend. Her best friend. And, maybe now, something more. Not that she'd let him know this.
Aster did notice some subtle changes in the vampire’s stance. Perhaps her slight change of tone, the ever so light movements of her eyes, or whatever else was relevant. What he knew was that she might’ve been into the idea of what he’d said. Of course, that would’ve been just a dream, right? …Right?
He tucked a loose strand of hair to her side, running his fingers through her hair, smiling.
“But do you want me to…?” He asked, his heart fell drastically when he did. What was he even thinking at this point?!
"I dunno," Emi said playfully, looking up at him. She almost leaned into his touch, but did her best not to. What was wrong with her? "You're the initiator, aren't you? Or do I have to be the big girl and kiss you myself?" Her grin was the smile of a starving wolf.
“That… I can do myself—“ upon finished the short speech, Aster had came down on Emi’s lips. His face was reddened slightly; either from the blood rush or perhaps from the heat he was feeling. For some reason, he had never felt this happy in his entire life. This was bliss at its finest. He did have his hopes up that this would continue. He held her neck up with one of his hands while his other made its way down to her waist.
