"What a beautiful child," Emi crooned, kneeling down next to him and smiling, although the smile was not at all comforting. She stroked his cheek with one finger.
The boy shivered and tried to hide behind Aster. "Who are you?" He asked in a small voice. "Where's my mommy?"
"Your mommy is a very busy woman," she said, pulling the child away. "She won't miss you." Her eyes flashed, and the child fell silent. Although she couldn't hypnotize like the demon beside her could, she could numb the senses, making victims more willing to cooperate… or fight harder to escape. She enjoyed both.
She ran a claw down the child's face, drawing blood, and licked her nail. "Delicious," she said, smiling eerily. "The taste of innocence." She latched onto the boy, who offered no struggle, and soon drained him. Although there was little blood compared to older humans, it was twice as delicious, and even more filling. "I could get used to this."
Aster caught the lost soul before it had floated away, grasping it and absorbing it into his body. Immediately, his body tensed up. It seemed like the soul of a child offered more than just innocence and purity. There was warmth within the soul which was a rare feature in a lot of older souls.
“Seems like…” Aster started “I’ll need to invest more time into children kidnapping if it does come to that…” he grinned with clear absence of reasoning in his eyes.
“And I’ll have to participate in this child kidnapping.” Emi licked her lips and stood. “Do we want to get more, or try and find a different spot to eat? We may start to attract attention soon.”
“That’s totally up to you,” Aster placed the child’s remains behind the large garbage dumpster. He glanced at the child one last time, warmly smiling.
“If you’re unsure, we could go elsewhere,”
"I might go somewhere else. See if there are any more… tasty prey." Without a backward glance, she tossed the body of the young boy behind the dumpster, with the others, and turned to him. "You have an idea as to where anyone like that would be, or are we just going to wander around?"
“Let’s just walk around, I’ve got nothing right now,” Aster claimed, looking out at the streets of people. His mind was trying its best to map out the marketplace. Before he even started, he knew he couldn’t.
He sighed to himself and walked back to Emi. Without saying a word, he took her hand and started pulling her towards the streets.
“Let’s go,” he spoke calmly.
Emi jerked her hand out of his, startled at the momentary shock that shot through her at his touch. She rubbed her hand and scowled. "What on earth was that?" She asked, stepping away from him, but keeping within a few feet of him.
Aster seemed confused as to what Emi was talking about but when he looked down at his hand, he realized what he’s done. His face flushed unconsciously.
“Uh… uhm…” it seemed like his sense of control has faded from the realization that had hit him. Now that he thought back, the Langsuir did have quite fine skin… no, this was not the time to think about that. He was going mad. There was a million things he wanted to say, none of which he managed to word out.
At his momentary speechlessness, Emi pursed her lips. "Well, whatever." She probably wasn't going to hear from him. "Let's go find somewhere else."
She scowled around at her surroundings, watching the people moving past. What was wrong with Aster? What was wrong with her And what had that weird spark been?
The demon followed her silently, his eyes were still locked between his own hand and the Langsuir. If it wasn’t for the fact that he felt bad about what had happened earlier, he would’ve tried the act again. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case… at least for now. Although, he did have a feeling that this hunt for prey wasn’t going to be like they had planned.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, his face still a reddened shade.
That was when Emi snapped. She whirled to face him, her expression fierce. Even without her vampire-like features prominent, she was a fearsome sight to behold. "Aster, what. Is. Going. On. With. You? You never apologize, you never act gentle around me, and you just shocked me!" She glared at him, crossing her arms. "What is happening? Are you going soft?"
“I mean… I guess?” Aster shrugged at the last question. Honestly, maybe that was what was happening. He had to remember that this was Emi he was dealing with. Her base instincts were those of desired bloodlust creatures. It wasn’t weird how she reacted to his current act.
“Hey,” he went back to using his normal tone, a slightly aggressive one to be true “I don’t think I’ve done the deal we agreed on for the race yet, right?”
Emi simply stared at him, for a long, long moment. Then she sighed and rolled her eyes. "Of all the dumb luck," she grumbled.
"I thought you forgot what the loser had to do," she challenged, putting her hands on her hips and frowning at him. She was in a better mood than she had been earlier, because she wasn't as hungry anymore, but she was still pissed.
(riskyyyyyyyy)
Aster sighed at himself before he dared the challenge.
“The first person…” he walked towards Emi “I see, right?” His expression brightened up a bit as he approached her. When his eyes locked with hers, he used his dominant right hand to raise up her chin as he came down so their lips could touch. It seemed like time froze around him during that time. He didn’t know if Emi was alright with this. He’d probably die if she wasn’t… worth it, still.
(Yas!)
When he went back to his normal, seductive self, Emi relaxed slightly… until he moved toward her. She stiffened, not reacting when he grabbed her chin and leaned in close, until their breaths mingled.
"How do you know that I was the first person you saw?" She asked, looking up at him, an amused smirk curling her plump lips.
“Maybe not the right term, but my eyes don’t wanna be anywhere else,” Aster answered, closing his eyes as he went in for another kiss. Thankfully, Emi seemed to be fine with this. His life wasn’t going to end here so that was clearly a plus.
Instinctively, his other hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her body towards him. The two were attracting the attention of many around them, some even squealing at the sight like fan girls and such.
"Hmm. Sweet talker," Emi snorted, but she went along. He was hot, yes, so it wasn't a pity. She wound her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, and slid her fingers through his hair. She didn't mind the attention. In fact, she enjoyed it.
Aster loved the fact that Emi enjoyed, or at least wasn’t against, the act. He slowly parted his lips from hers, glancing into her eyes when he did. The chaos of the two mixed well it seemed.
“Well? Shall we go?” He asked again.
Emi shrugged. When he pulled away, she shook herself, riding herself of any strange feeling she had gotten from the kiss, and nodded. "Let's find some more children." She acted like nothing had happened. This was normal, right? Two seductive beings being passionate with each other for a bit? It made sense to her, and she knew that it probably would happen more often, or never again.
Aster was always a demon of both wrath and lust, these kinds of acts were always within his realm. However, not a lot of them were full of passion. None of them, in fact, were done passionately. This was the first he truly felt something during the act and hopefully, though very unlikely, Emi would have felt something too.
“Yeah,” he replied plainly as he started to walk again. A bit of time has passed before Aster turned back to the Langsuir.
“Are you not mad at me anymore?”
"I'm mad at everyone, all the time," Emi said, rolling her eyes. "You should know this by now."
She glanced around. "Think any good prey will be around here?"
Aster chuckled softly at her answer. It had been true. She was always an aggressive being.
“There should be some which are, who know, at a passing grade,” he answered, scanning his atmosphere. What he found was that a lot of the people in the part they were in weren’t exactly fit nor were they tasty-looking.
“Yeah… some,”
"Just some?" Emi rolled her eyes. "Point them out to me. I'm hungry." She knew that she had just eaten four people already, but she really didn't care. A Langsuir's appetite was insatiable at the best of time.
“The teenage girl with black pigtails to the left, the middle-aged man in shades in front of the flower shop, and the young boy by the butcher,” Aster answered with a whisper, careful not to raise any attention. After all, they were doing mass genocide, cannibalism, and perhaps theft to some degree. If the police were on their tail, they, no, their landlord is sure to be screwed.
"How do you propose to get them?" Emi stared at the people he had pointed out. They were pretty good quality, if not the best quality. "You want to get one and I'll get the others?"
