Aster turned to her and paused what he was about to speak. He rethought what he was about to say…
“I’m going with you,” he finally said, stepping towards her with his bag of oranges with him. “I need a sanity refill as well,”
Aster turned to her and paused what he was about to speak. He rethought what he was about to say…
“I’m going with you,” he finally said, stepping towards her with his bag of oranges with him. “I need a sanity refill as well,”
"How long do you think it will take for them to notice that we're gone?" Emi asked, finishing the last orange and licking her lips with an exaggerated slowness. "I say about an hour. They know how long I like to pout, and you're supposed to be shopping." She stood and stretched.
“My bet’s are on an hour and a half since it’s Saturday,” Aster replied, his scleras briefly turning a darkened color. What he wanted was for Emi to forgive him, again, even if it wasn’t his fault. He didn’t have the mind to care or get mad at anyone really, though he may act it.
“So, about four to six victims, depending on how fast you devour them this time,”
"I dunno," Emi said, glancing in the direction of the woods that bordered the property. "I say eight, if they're easy enough to find." Now that there was the prospect of food, she was excited, and could barely think of anything else. "You want any, or are you just going to follow me?"
Aster shook his head with a soft smile.
“I don’t eat humans, remember? I just absorb their souls and whatnot,” he answered. Looking around the property, it seemed like absolutely no one was near. Their house seemed like a haunted house now which was nice.
“There were some drug addicts in the alleyways by the marketplace if you want those easy kills,”
"But they taste like spoiled meat," Emi said, making a face. "Although I'm too hungry to really care anymore. We could try there, I guess." She turned. "Last one there has to try and seduce the first person they see there."
Aster rolled his eyes, making sure he was able to run after Emi… however, he planned to stay just behind her so she could be the first person he saw.
“Ready when you are,” he said plainly, his legs straightening and ready to run.
"At least you aren't stretching." She rolled her eyes, unaware of his intentions. Without warning, she suddenly bolted, the swiftness of her race giving her an advantage. She fairly flew down the road, covering the distance to the market place in long, easy strides.
As she ran, her appearance slowly normalized, red line on her face fading until it was no more than a scar, claws and teeth folding away. She looked normal… mostly. The red eyes were nothing she could hide, but she had sunglasses to do that.
With Aster physical structure, he caught up quite easily. But as Emi has said, not stretching was a mistake in itself since he couldn’t force himself to sprint that his desired speed.
Luckily, he still had more energy than most of your typical mythical creatures. Hence him being able to match the speed of Emi with ease. Or at least, without a lot of trouble.
Emi noticed him catching up, and turned slightly to give him a wicked grin. She stuck her leg out, to send him stumbling, and increased her speed, legs pumping. It wasn't as fast as she had been going when she had fallen into this dratted world, but no normal person could run this fast.
Aster had stumbled, yes, but with him being quite familiar with escaping situations, he was able to roll back into a running structure quite naturally and quickly. He gave Emi a teasing grin as he followed. They were nearing the marketplace with every step they took. Once they were within visible range from the marketplace, they both had to slow down.
(Completely unrelated, but I need someone to rant this to. I was determined to write some fluff fanfic earlier but then, the worst thing came to me. I scrolled through Pinterest for inspiration and such and came across a story so god damn sad, I lost all fluffiness I gathered and now I’m unmotivated as hell. ;-;)
(I do the same, so, so often… what was the story? Now I want to read it!)
"You're looking a little pale," Emi said, sliding to a stop and grinning at him, her eyes flashing crimson. "You sure you could stand a run like that? Maybe you should try and run more often." She glanced around. "I'm pretty sure I won."
(I erased it from my memory already, apologies)
(;-;)
Aster sighed, giving a tired smile.
“What was the punishment again? Can you repeat it to me?” He asked innocently, his plan was heading in the right direction and honestly, he was a bit scared because of that. It’s been months since he’s seduced someone, not counting the fact that this was a Langsuir, Emi, he was dealing with. No matter the cause, he’ll need to satisfy her one way or another.
(For shame! XD)
(Also, I might not be on a whole lot today, just so you know)
She raised an eyebrow, looking at him with that expression she usually wore around him: complete and utter exasperation. "I think you know." She sniffed and put the sunglasses on, hiding her crimson eyes. "Where did you say the prey was?"
(I won’t be on a lot either)
Aster walked past Emi, softly pulling on her cheek.
“Follow me,” he stated sternly, acting as if nothing had happened. His mind, though, was running at the speed of hundred miles per hour. As much as he would’ve wanted to deny himself, he did what he did.
Emi looked at him as if he was crazy. "What was that?" She wasn't ready to let him get away with it. But when he walked past her, acting as if nothing had happened, she rolled her eyes and followed. Aster could be as stubborn as a mule when he wanted to, and she had learned, long ago, to just give up on trying to reason with him.
“What was what?” Aster asked innocently, not bothering to turn back to the vampiric woman.
As they would maneuver through the crowds, Aster guided Emi into a dark alleyway where some drug addicts were laying on the ground. When he was sure Emi followed him in, his hand reached out to grab one of the walking pedestrians and snatched them into the alleyway, covering their mouth immediately and making sure that no one saw his act.
“Drug addicts aren’t your likings, perhaps this one will be more of your taste,”
Emi looked the figure up and down, studying them with a clinical interest. It was a middle aged man, fairly round, and looked like he enjoyed the finer parts of life. She snorted. "He will do."
The man looked at her, and she pulled her glasses off, letting her voice soothe him in a hypnotizing way. "I'm hungry. You're going to get me some food, right?" He slumped, and stopped fighting Aster. She pounced, fangs snapping out, and dug them into the man's neck, drinking his blood in greedy swallows.
Aster looked at Emi as she enjoyed her meal, making sure no one was able to see her. He looked out to the busy streets, cursing silently when he spotted people who looked like police officers. As long as he doesn’t act suspiciously, they won’t act on him, right? When he was sure the man Emi was enjoying was dead, he turned back to pull the soul essence from the man’s body and absorbing it into his body. His expression, refreshed.
“Do you need another?” He asked quietly, not wanting anyone on the streets to turn to him or her or anyone in the alleyway, actually. To be perfectly honest, Aster wanted a female victim, one that he could satisfy before their inevitable demise.
"I don't need one," Emi scoffed, rolling her eyes and wiping her mouth. "But more would be nice. Maybe I'll help you this time." She pointed to a young teenage girl passing by with her boyfriend. "What about them? Two more victims, and one of them is rather pretty." She sent him a wicked smirk and raised an eyebrow at him, as if guessing his thoughts.
Aster smiled subtly as he waited for the two to come close to the alleyway. Of course, he needed to be quick as any of the two would make sounds if only one was pulled away.
When they passed by the alleyway’s entrance, Aster used both his hands to pull them in and cover their mouths.
“Shhh…” Aster immediately said, turning immediately to the girl and hypnotizing her with his gaze. When he was sure that the girl was hypnotized, he let go of the girl’s mouth as she clanged onto his body. Her boyfriend didn’t seem to enjoy anything that was happening.
While still keeping one hand covering the man’s mouth, he used his free hand to cup the girl’s cheek and kissing her lips passionately, causing the man to instinctively start kicking and flinging his wrists around. Of course, Aster gave the man a teasing gaze as he continued to seduce the already hypnotized girl, another unlucky one in his collection.
With the man being a nuisance, Aster twisted his neck with his own force, ultimately knocking him out cold as the girl started to crawl on the demon’s body.
“Okay this is getting out of hand…” Aster stated, giving the virgin girl one last kiss before cupping her face and twisting her neck like he did to the man, knocking her out cold as well.
“Please,” he stood up from the weird position he was in and dusted himself off “Enjoy your meal”
"Why thank you," Emi said sarcastically. "You could have left the guy for me, you know. I could have given him some… fun." The way she said fun could make anyone who didn't know her shiver. "After all, I'm not just a death being."
She bent, and, with one smooth swoop, slid her fangs into his neck. She drank the blood quickly, letting the richness of it pour over her tongue and her chin, spilling over his chest. After she drained the corpse in less than a minute, she picked it up and tossed it behind a dumpster with the others. "Now let them figure out what happened," she said with a smug smile, turning to the young girl with a grin. "This one, now this one, I like."
Her claws shot out, and she carved a hole in the girl's chest, pulling her heart out and licking it. "Delicious," she purred. "The blood of a virgin is the tastiest." She drank the girl's blood before shredding the heart and throwing the corpses away.
"Where to next?"
Aster absorbed the two souls into his body. When asked the question, he turned to the busy streets and looked left and right.
“Do you… and I want an honest answer, feast on children?” He asked with a determined tone. It seemed like he wanted to devour a child’s soul and to face it, why wouldn’t he? They provided the purest of energies.
"I dunno," Emi said, wiping her mouth on her first victim's shirt. "I've never had human children before. It would be interesting to taste it." Her eyes gleamed excitedly, half mad with bloodlust. "Where do you propose we get one, though? They are all being watched by their guardians like hawks. And you know full well that a panicked, overprotective parent is much harder to hypnotize."
“Hmm… I got my ways…” Aster reassured, his eyes locking on his target. The thing about human children is that they don’t require any effort to be hypnotized. Those who have parted ways with their parents are the easiest to capture. Plus… both he and Emi knew that their fingerprints wouldn’t be easily cracked.
He left the alleyway for a bit, walking over to a lost child who had their hands on a balloon. They were crying, but no one cared for them.
“Are you lost?” He asked, his structure seemed human at this point.
The child slowly nodded.
Aster gave an assuring smile as he extended his hand.
“Let’s go find your parents…” he immediately used his hypnotizing ability on the child “… shall we?” The kid took his hand.
The eyes of the public were not aware of his actions. He dragged the now mindless child into the alleyway and hid him behind one of the large dumpsters.
“There we go, easy as that,” he looked back at the marketplace “This place is too crowded to not have lost children,”
