Whatever’s happened..

Whatever’s happened, you don’t exactly recall anything besides the fact you’ve woken up in what seems to be a bunker of some sorts, equipped only with the bare minimum of supplies and a light. The power is off so you’d better find a way to turn it back on, lest you freeze up here. It is rather cold, after all, and you are human.

The thing is - you don’t know this place. You’ve woken up, with no memory of what’s happened here, or why you’re here. There aren’t any visible maps as far as you’re aware of. So you’ll have to make do with signs around the bunker. And even then - you’re in a bunker. What’s happened outside? Is it even safe to go out?

Are you even on earth?

There’s no one else here..though you do have a stun gun and baton. Maybe there’s a reason you’re given those weapons. Perhaps you aren’t alone out here after all. Are they friend? Or foe?

Let’s find that out.

I decided I wanted a SCI-FI futuristic RP with some horror themes mixed in. Not directly horror, but still.

I think you’ll know the basic RP rules - but I’ll also say I’m fine with swearing and such. Violence is okay, keep descriptions of gore to a minimum (just don’t write a paragraph of it.)

The plot, essentially is that your very human character woke up in a bunker with no memory of what’s happened. Another character, my character (which isn’t a human, though could’ve been one at one point) is also in the bunker, and probably hears your character as they move around and stuff. Your main priority at first is to get the power turned on in the RP..maybe the stranger could assist with that?

Then? Maybe you want to go outside, or explore the bunker. Or figure out what’s happening. It’s a character driven RP, aside from the whole turning on lights and power thing, but I’ll let you decide how and when you’re going to do that alongside my character.

A bit of a shorter template;

@LolaBug

Name: Vivian Noelle Hendrix
Age: 21yrs
Gender: Female
Appearance: 5'5, red hair, freckles, green eyes, a birthmark on her inner right arm

Personality: Vivian is quiet, submissive, overly apologetic but she works harder than almost anyone else and is determined to prove her worth to herself and her family. For the most part, she's an eager to please, loyal person who is more than keen to carry out any mission assigned to her. Growing up, she was taught that rules were in place for a reason and not following them could lead to disastrous consequences so she follows the rules down to the letter, never doing anything that she knows will upset anyone. She's a well-mannered, sweet young woman who goes out of her way to make someone smile, often baking and painting in her spare time. Though she still hasn't magically turned into the confident leader that everyone wants, she has grow more of a spine over the years.

Looks good to me!

Here’s mine:

Name: Nils Aaby
Age: 28, or at least around there
Gender: Presumably a male
Appearance: Nils was once a human, but it’s hard to say that with him now. While he does have a human voice - who’s to decide what’s human and what’s not? Most of his true appearance is hard to tell, based on the bulky suit and helmet he wears. He is humanoid of course - but there’s no telling if he looks remotely close to a human anymore under his suit. He also seems to have an oxygen tank on his back. The suit is mostly dark blue and black, so it’s not easy to see him. But it is easy to hear him.
Oh and he’s got a mouth on his shoulder. Definitely not a human.
6’1 in terms of height. Usually doesn’t stand at full height, though.
Personality: Nils is generally cautious, but curious. He’s generally protective over those he respects, and dislikes when others are afraid of his appearance. He is somewhat blunt, not very good with certain words; either a result of whatever happened to him or maybe he was always like that.
While cautious when testing out stuff, once Nils gets going he’s generally pretty good. He’s also fairly intelligent.
Sometimes he tends to have a bit of a bug. Don’t mind that, just try and ignore it.
Other: nothing for now

Did you want to start or should I? Or did you have any questions?

@LolaBug

Could you start please? I'm stuck on my IPad until tomorrow and it's super slow. No, I don't have any questions.

The bunker was cold.

To be fair, that would be clear to most creatures. As for Nils - he was numb to it. Nearly, anyways. He could tell it was cold already; the power had shut off a while ago. He hadn’t seen anyone in the bunker for a while now, now that he realized. He wondered where they all went. Left him behind to wander aimlessly. Looking for food, for things to entertain himself with. Maybe a way out.
Oh yeah. Food. Even though Nils wasn’t really himself anymore, he still required it. It was clear he didn’t really need to eat as much as his former self; which even then, he wondered what had even happened for him to be like this. Still, he placed food in his head to remember.
Currently, the humanoid - the former human was within a room of the bunker that might have been once known as the labs. Just observing. Toying around with bottles and jars, empty or non-empty. He wasn’t making an effort to stay silent, either.

His vision wasn’t very clear. It was a lot harder to see now. Maybe that was apart of the temperature problem. Or maybe he was just seeing like that for now. Whatever the problem was, he relied on hearing more often, and his newly found sense of smell; which he realized to be not very effective. Hearing was more efficient. Scent was only good for finding things you weren’t supposed to. Like smelling out blood and stuff, he realized.

Nils picked up each empty glass and observed it, before one slipped from his gloves and fell onto the floor, easily shattering. It echoed throughout the open doors of the lab and into the hallways. Sound travelled pretty well right now. It wasn’t very quiet, after all. Nils glanced around, before resuming what he was doing. Just exploring.

Cold metal.

Vivian wakes up to the distinct feeling of cold metal pressing against her skin. It's by no means a pleasant wake up call but it's the one she's stuck with. Her eyes snap open. She's met with darkness. Blinking a few times, she looks around. Where am I? None of her surroundings are familiar. And then there's constant chill that's causing the goosebumps on her arms. She climbs to her feet, careful not to make any noise. Shivering, she wraps her arms around herself. It's freezing. She licks her lips, hoping to stop them from cracking. That action causes her to realize just how dry her mouth is. It feels as though someone shoved a wad of cotton balls in her mouth. Not a pleasant feeling.

The matter of finding a heat source is much more pressing than that of dealing with her dry mouth. She extends an arm and takes a few hesitant steps forward. Walking around in total darkness doesn't seem like the wisest idea but not freezing to death would be ideal. Her hand meets a wall a second later. By now her eyes have gotten used to the darkness so she can vaguely see what's in front of her. A few signs are posted along the very wall that she's clinging to. One just so happens to point the way to the electrical room.

With a newfound confidence, she picks up her pace as she makes her way through the halls of whatever this place is. That confidence lasts a total of two minutes. She squeaks in surprise at the sound of glass shattering. The sudden noise causes her to loose focus and trip. She ungracefully faceplants. It seems as though she's not the only one in here. It's a terrifying thought.

A stun gun and a baton fall out of her pockets, clattering to the ground. The noise echoes throughout the bunker. Vivian's eyes go wide as she scrambles to collect the items she didn't even know she possessed. She shoves them back into her pockets before rising to her feet and ducking around the nearest corner to hide.

Nils didn’t seem to mind stepping on the shards that were now spread across the floor. He could indeed feel pain, but he noticed he was more durable. Or at least, like he said, numb to it. He wondered if or when that numbness would wear off.

His keen hearing picks up something. It’s close by, and he paused, then turns a slow head towards the open doorway. His steps, like the shattering glass are heard easily. Heavy, like they belong to a large creature. Although they’re slow, meaning Nils was either just that slow in his current form, or he wasn’t in a rush to head anywhere. Placing a hand on the doorway, he sniffs. Even if he’s unsure what his nose looks like anymore. He’s tried multiple times to get this helmet off, to see what he looks like. But it’s almost like it’s apart of him now.

Scent, like he was thinking before, had no use without any blood nearby. He wondered why that was like that, but left the thoughts drift to the back of his mind, opting to think about what he had heard. Perhaps he wasn’t alone here?

Well, he wasn’t alone. He knew that. But the creatures that remained were all outside, and they weren’t like him. They were, but at the same time, they were different. Again, he pushed the thought away and exited the room fully. Almost automatically a light on his helmet flickered and turned on, providing a very limited source of light. It wouldn’t last for long, he realized. He couldn’t exactly remove the helmet and change the battery. He considered it after his attempts to remove the helmet and realized that would be a very bad idea.

He heard something clatter and realized that for sure someone was down here with him. The question was, who - or what? Nils had to admit, he was nervous, but he was probably less nervous than whoever was about to see him lumbering around.

The light flickered a few times and Nils resumed forwards in direction of the noise, going to check what it was.

@LolaBug

Vivian slaps her head over her mouth and forces her breathing to slow down. However, she can't do anything about her racing heart. It's beating so fast that she's almost afraid that it'll jump ship. She stiffens upon hearing heavy footsteps coming from somewhere within the compound. They don't sound human.

Reaching into her pocket, she slowly pulls out the stun gun, her hand shaking like a leaf. She wouldn't last very long in a fight so she's grateful to have a weapon on her, even if she doesn't exactly know how to work it. Her grip on the object tightens as she slowly starts to walk through the halls. Standing in place would just make her an easy target for whatever else is in here. She's really not eager to die.

She spots the door to the electrical room a few minutes later. Success! She cautiously opens the door and slips into the room. It's nearly impossible to see anything in the almost black room. Time to see how much she can push her luck. She begins to push buttons and flip switches, hoping that one of them will turn the power back on. The sudden sound of a engine turning on causes her to jump. The lights in the room flicker on and it slowly begins to warm up. Whatever she did seems to work. The lights and heat that turn on in the room appear to start a chain reaction throughout the bunker. She breathes a sigh of relief, delighted that she won't be freezing to death anytime soon.

Now she's able to see everything properly. This, unfortunately, means that whatever else is in here can see her as well. With the stun gun still in her hand, she exits the electrical room and starts to look around, her entire body coiled like a spring. She's expecting something to jump out at her at any second.

@Mojack group

Nils’ headlight flickered and shut off, most likely on its last strings. Oh well. It wasn’t like he had terrible vision. He was in darkness for a few moments, close to where the Electrical room was. There was a blue glow of..something on his shoulder; right shoulder to be specific. That all faded away when he heard the familiar yet at the same time odd noise of the engine turning on, and soon after, the lights.

He now had believed that whoever was there was a human. At least, he believed so. Humans liked the warmth, didn’t they? God, he was starting to forget himself. He would’ve laughed right now, if he could. But he couldn’t, for reasons he had yet to understand.

Still heading forwards, his eyes take some time to adjust to the new lights. His eyes. Not human eyes, at least. His were..weird. Fuzzy, almost. Even weirder in the light. He shook his head around a bit before catching some movement, with for some reason; something in his head had him look over in that direction. Almost like a machine. But Nils..he wasn’t a machine, wasn’t he?

He ceased movement, his breaths echoing from himself. They were loudish, just like him. Nils took a moment to try and quiet himself, but it was clear that seemed to be apart of his character now. He began to walk where he saw- or detected the movement, now at a significantly slower pace than before. Almost cautious.

@LolaBug

Vivian creeps through the building, looking at everything. The more she sees, the more confused she gets. This isn't a normal house or building by any means. She studies everything around her before coming to the conclusion that she's in a bunker of sort. Now she just has to figure out why. She doesn't remember anything before she woke up. It's weird that she doesn't know what's going on. Surely she should have some idea of how she got here and why she was here.

It's time to get out of here. All of this confusion can be dealt with later. All she really wants now is to leave and to figure out what happened. She turns left down one of hallways and looks around. The coast is clear for now. Having the lights on makes things a whole of a lot more easy. She can actually avoid falling on her face now.

The light and the warmth is lulling her into a sense of false security. She puts the stun gun back in her pocket, feeling a little more relaxed than she had early. Everything seems calmer and less scary now so she stops paying attention to her surroundings. That's when she runs right into the person/thing that's in here with her. Scrambling backwards, she clumsily pulls the baton out of her pocket, freaking out as her heart pounds in her chest.

Looking up, her eyes land on the person…..no, the thing she ran into. Her eyes go wide as panic and fear grips her. She freezes for a solid ten seconds before screaming and chucking the baton at the creature's head as she stumbles backwards in a panicked attempted to get away.

@Mojack group

Nils was surprised to look down on a human that had ran into him. He tilts his head, almost curiously, not yet realizing it was a baton she had taken out. He watches as she looks up, then slightly raises himself seeing her behaviour immediately change. It was silence for those few seconds, but the scream seemed to surprise Nils as he backed up, the baton hitting him right in the head. That seemed to stun him a little bit. That, or he didn’t realize what was going on just yet. The baton clattered to the floor, and he was just standing there, staring at an empty spot in the floor.

It seemed to register quite quickly though, as his breaths quickened and he backed up, stressed out by what had just occurred. He backed up, right into the wall, not even paying attention to the human at this point, and he seemed to look up, right into the lights above, which momentarily blinded him - also making the situation worse. He looked down and turned tail and ran, though it wasn’t a run if anything - a significantly quicker form of movement than his walk from before, but not a run.

He moved as fast as possible, back to the safety of the lab he had left before.

@LolaBug

Vivian takes off running the second the human like creature is distracted, the baton long forgotten. She doesn't know where she's going but she does know that she needs to get out of here. That thing hadn't attacked her but that doesn't mean it wouldn't in the future. To be fair, she doesn't usually judge people base off of their appearances but she's not usually waking up in strange places with no idea of what's going on. Racing through the maze of a bunk, she constantly looks over her shoulder to make sure that she's not being followed. I'm going to die! That's the only thought running through her head right now. What else is she supposed to think in a situation like this one? It's just too much for her to even try and process.

After a few minutes of running, her lungs start to burn and she has to stop to catch her breath. She leans heavily against the nearest wall, panting. She's freaking out right about now. There's no way out of here and she's trapped with…..she doesn't even know what! "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god," She exclaims in a panicked sing-song voice. This is like a horror movie. A horribly realistic horror movie. Taking a few deep breaths, she tries to calm down and rationalize the situation. She doesn't want to be that idiot that dies within the first ten minutes of the movie. She wants to be the survivor.

@Mojack group

Nils didn’t make it to the lab before he felt a pain open up in his side. It was hard to tell what it was exactly, though he had a feeling it was a wound that had somehow reopened. A wound that had to be dealt with. Halting himself, he was in the middle of a crossroad hallway, and he looked around.

He glanced up at the walls - actually, he didn’t really need to look up. He only needed to walk closer, to read what was displayed on them. Infirmary.

Nils didn’t know if his new body was either really slow at healing, or maybe he just hadn’t been injured in this form. Maybe the concept of injury was new to this form, and it needed to see how to heal itself. Whatever the reason was, Nils wanted to at least have something to numb the pain. He began to walk towards the infirmary, at a slower pace than before. Almost in a limp.

He didn’t exactly remember receiving this wound, either. It was strange.

@LolaBug

Vivian carefully pulls the stun gun out of her pocket and takes a few minutes to study it and figure it out. Once sure that she can use it as a proper weapon, she continues on her way. There has to be a hatch or a door somewhere around here. She and that creature had to have gotten in here somehow. It's not like they just magically appeared in the bunker.

Looking at the signs on the wall, she tries to figure out which one will lead her to the exit. There's a lab, an infirmary, and a couple of other rooms. She pauses for a moment before deciding that finding some supplies would be wise. Walking down the hall, she heads for the infirmary. There could be some helpful medicines or some knives that could be used as weapons.

She stops dead in her tracks when she approaches the infirmary. It appears as though both she and the creature form earlier are heading there. She takes a few steps back, hoping that he won't see her. Throwing the baton earlier had been an instinctual action, she can't actually fight. If it decides to attack her then she's dead. She holds her breath as she works on getting away without being spotted.
