Ava glances over her shoulder. She’s got a head start but with these wound, she can’t go very far or very fast. Relief floods her when she spots Cameron’s house. She hurries up to the house and tests the door. Oh thank god. She opens the door and steps inside, slamming and locking it behind her. Breathing heavily, she looks around. She then finds herself staring down the barrel of a rifle. “It’s just me, please put the gun down,” She tells him with a weak smile as she pants. “Do you mind if I sit down? I going to sit down now.” Sinking to the floor, she leans up against the wall. Her bag drops to the floor beside her.

Cameron set the old rifle down and watched her slide down on the floor. "Are you hurt?" He immediately asked, helping her stand up and lean against his chest. He was answered by the blood on the wall. "Fuck Ava! What the hell did I tell you?" He dragged her into the kitchen and set her up on the table. He spotted the blood oozing from her shirt and pulled it up, shaking his head at the bullet wound. She better thank her damn lucky stars he knew how to pull bullets from people. He went and grabbed his big first-aid kit, giving her a roll of gauze to gnash down on. "Here, it'll keep you from screaming or whatever. It'll hurt only for a bit, I can still kind of see it." As he eyed it, he wondered if he should call his neighbor for assistance. Or maybe his friend. Both were EMTs. He made sure she was biting down on the gauze before he pulled out his tweezers, peering into the bloody wound and pushing down on the skin rather hard to see if the bullet would jut out more. It didn't, but the wound stopped bleeding enough for him to see what he was doing. Without a warning, he reached in with the tweezers and pulled out the bullet, the dark abscess-like thing he saw. He felt it clink on the tweezers and grabbed it carefully, pulling it out quickly. It was dark with blood but at least it was out.

Ava bites down hard on her inner cheek when Cameron pulls her to her feet. “Can we save the lecture for later?” She rasps, leaning heavily up against him. When he drags her into the kitchen, she has no choice but to just stumble after him. Being laid out on the table makes her feel vulnerable and it’s super uncomfortable. She stares up at the ceiling as she tries to focus on her breathing and not passing out. Biting down on the gauze, she braces herself for the pain. A muffled scream tears itself from her mouth when he just suddenly pushes down on the area near the wound. Her vision darkens and starts to blur. Screwing her eyes shut, she chumps down as hard as she can on the gauze, willing herself not to scream again. By the time the bullet is out, she’s fading in and out of consciousness.

Cameron popped the bullet into a paper towel and wiped off the tweezers. He sat her up at an angle so he could wrap her wound as tight as possible with the things inside the first-aid kit, pushing hard on the wound to stop the bleeding. He stayed like that for a bit, holding her against him so she didn't collapse. He knew he could take her weight easily. When he was satisfied, he cleaned the wound with cleaning alcohol, and started stitching it up, then wrapped it up and returned her bloodied shirt in the same way, sighing and gently picking her up. He took the gauze from her mouth and returned it to the first-aid kit, carrying her upstairs.
"Do you want some of my clothes to wear?" He asked her as he sat her down on his bed.

Ava leans up against Cameron, more than a little out of it. She’s only biting down on the gauze loosely at this point. It’s getting hard to feel much of anything at this point. Resting her head on his shoulder, she closes her eyes. Only when the gauze is removed from her mouth does she open her eyes again. She curls up against his chest and doesn’t stir when she’s picked up. Going to sleep sounds perfect right about now. Her shirt is slick with blood and uncomfortable to wear but she’s too tried to care. However, she’s not going to turn his offer of clean clothes down. “Please,” She mumbles, slightly nodding her head.

The man sighed softly and shook his head at her, gently running his hands up her back before laying her down slowly. He crossed his room and grabbed her an old shirt of his and a big pair of sweatpants with little adjusting strings. He sat her up again and handed them to her as he took her running shoes off.
"I'm gonna go downstairs and grab Lily and clean up, okay? Do you need help changing or anything?" He wanted to help, but he wouldn't violate her privacy.

@LolaBug

Curling up on the bed, she sighs softly. Being day up again only causes her to mumble a few words of protest. “I can do it,” She murmurs as she takes the clothes from him. Placing the sweatpants and shirt on the bed, she starts to pull off her shirt. A quick glance at it tells her that it needs to be burned. She drops it on the drop, looking on the bright side. It was an old shirt so destroying it won’t matter. She pauses and looks over to him. “Thank you, Cameron.”

Cameron was grabbing Lily's pills before he went downstairs. When she spoke, he didn't look up, just nodded. "You're welcome. Want me to take your shirt? I'm gonna be burning some stuff and if you want your clothes burned I can go ahead and do that." He slicked his hair back out of his face, which was longer and curlier than ever.

@LolaBug

Ava awkwardly manages to wiggle out of her pants and get the new clothes on. Once she eats that done, she curls right back up on the bed. The clothes swallow her but they’re comfortable. “Please.” She shuts her eyes and snuggles up with the pillow. It’s not long before she’s sound asleep.

Cameron chuckled at her and took her clothes, taking them downstairs and into the kitchen. The man cleaned and bleached for a long while, scrubbing this and that. When he was done, he turned on his fireplace and threw in the rags of blood, the clothes she was wearing, and the bloody bandages, as well as the bullet. He helped Lily upstairs when he was done, lifting her onto the bed and getting dressed in some pajamas before joining Ava in bed.

It was pretty early in the morning when Cameron blinked awake. His arms were wrapped protectively around Ava, and he had pulled her close before he went to bed. It stayed that way, too. Lily stood up and gently snuffled his ear and cheek, and he chuckled softly. "Alright, girl, I'm coming. You'd better not jump down." He slowly took his arms from around her and sat up carefully as to not disturb her, yawning and stretching, running a hand through his messy hair. He felt pretty good this morning, basically how he always does.

@LolaBug

(I’m back! Thanks!)

Ava lays in bed, sound asleep. She doesn’t stir or move an inch when Cameron gets up. Due to the crazy activities of yesterday, her body is still trying to recover. When the light starts to shine in her eyes, she begins to wake up. With a soft groan, she opens her eyes. A sharp pain shoots through her body when she starts to move. She slowly and carefully sits up, propping herself up with pillows. She rolls her shirt up a little and studied the bandages wrapped around her.

Cameron glanced at her as he brushed his hair back, only resulting in his hair puffing out more. He didn't seem to care that much as Lily stood at his legs, begging for food.
"Good morning, Ava. I have some pain killers you should take," He commented, taking a bottle and handing it to her, with a bottle of water. "I'm gonna go downstairs. Do you want me to bring up any breakfast?" He asked as he turned around and ran his fingers through his hair, stretching out. Lily barked softly at Ava, having followed Cameron over but stayed near Ava.

@LolaBug

Ava looks around the room before her eyes land on Cameron. Shit. There’s a good chance that he’s going to be mad at her for what she did yesterday. She’ll deserve it if she gets yelled at but that doesn’t mean that she wants it to happen. “Good morning,” She says, pulling the shirt back down. With extreme caution, she takes the water bottle and the pills from him. She waits only a split second before she takes the pills. “No thanks.” Eating something right now doesn’t sound pleasant.

He grunted and finished with messing around with his hair in the reflection of his mirrored closet. "Alright. I'll bring up some toast or something. You can't take that stuff without food, and after all the blood you lost, your body will need it. I'm going to bring you up drinks that will help you get electrolytes back too, so you don't die or anything." He made sure his clothes were in order before trotting out of the room, Lily following behind him when she decided she wasn't getting any pats from Ava, her tail wagging slowly.

@LolaBug

Sighing, she just shakes her head. She doesn’t understand why he bothers to ask when he doesn’t listen to her answer. Looking over to the clock she frowns. She really shouldn’t stay here for much longer. With one hand pressed to her wound, she carefully climbs out of bed and looks around for her bag and some proper clothes. Moving around is incredibly painful but she knows that the pills will kick in soon so she’ll be good to go.

Cameron let Lily out with some breakfast, then started on breakfast and toast. Once the latter was finished, he buttered it up with some jelly and brought it up to her, appearing at the doorway as she searched for his bag.
"Hey, what are you doing? If you move too much you'll knock your bandages awry and get the wound infected. Lay back down." He approached her and gently pushed the plate into her hands and pulled her over to the bed.

@LolaBug

Ava moves around the room, frowning when she’s unable to find her bag. She turns her head when she hears someone enter the room. Busted. “Where’s my bag?” Blinking, she taking the plate that’s being pushed into her hands. “My bandages are fine, thanks for that by the way. I should go.” She sighs when he starts to pull her back over to the bed.

"No, you shouldn't. I'm not going to let you go," He growled firmly to her, gently sitting her down on the bed. "At least stay so it doesn't hurt when you move, or when it scabs up. I want to make sure it doesn't get infected." He let her go, only concern gleaming in his dark eyes.
