“If your hair was longer then I could French braid it or Dutch braid it.” Ava continued to braid little sections of his hair, still humming happily. “That was so much fun! We could even have a pillow fight!” Her face totally lights up. “This’ll be my first sleepover so you gotta tell me what else we’re supposed to do.”
"Oh I cut it a while ago. I might be able to get my hair back?" He suggested, but immediately moved on to nodding to her pillow fight idea.
"Yeeeeessssss pillow fight!! It'll be so much fun we have to. We gotta build it first, but no worries, I am best man for building fort. And you'll do great I know you will!"
She nods her head enthusiastically. “You have to grow it longer. Then I can do all sorts of stuff with it. It’ll be so much fun!” After a few more moments, she pulls her hands away from his hair. “Let’s go build it now. We can make it a castle!” She hops to her feet and bounces up and down eagerly.
Cameron giggled and slowly stood to his feet, standing up straight somehow. "Okay, so we do down here. Maybe we can build it up near the fireplace and we can put it out before bed," He hummed in a thicker accent than before. He moved off ungracefully to climb the steps to grab a few blankets and such, bringing them down, but he had a better idea on the way up.
"Let's do it down in my movie room!" He exclaimed as he ran over to her, his arms full of pillows, tape, and light sheets, with a couple heavier ones.
Ava nods her head in agreement as he talks. The excitement just keeps her bouncing on her toes. While Cameron goes to get the blankets and pillows and other supplies, she gathers another bottle of vodka from the kitchen just in case they want it later. “Yes!” She cheers at his suggestion to build the fort in the movie room. Skipping over to him, she takes ahold of his arm with her free hand and tugs him forward.
Cameron grinned and let her bring him forward, following her downstairs and started moving his couch. "We need a lot of room. So how about you start taping the sheets to here," He said, pointing to the couch he just moved, "while I figure out how to get the roof high enough."
And soon, the pair made themselves the best goddamn fort ever made, with a drunken Cameron's instruction. It was practically a room, and they had to get a lot more sheets, but it was well worth it. Cameron had made popcorn and he was noisily chewing on it as he relaxed on a pillow and a few sheets.
Ava places the vodka down on the table before listening to the instructions being given. She helps out the best she can with everything. It’s hard to focus in her drunken state but she manages to get everything up properly. Once they’re done, she steps back and examines their work. It’s perfect in her eyes.
Stretched out next to Cameron, Ava snags a handful of popcorn. She had snuck upstairs a few minutes ago and had stolen one of his t-shirts, which she is currently wearing. The clothes she had been wearing earlier had grown to be uncomfortable. “This is the best fort ever.”
He watched her as she took his popcorn, but he smiled and just ate a bigger handful of it for himself. "I told you, even when my hands are drunk and my eyes are tied, I can build an amazing fort," He hummed wisely over the mouthful of popcorn, sitting up so he was about her height again sitting.
"So what should we do now?" He asked excitedly, beaming.
“As long as this doesn’t collapse on us then I’ll continue to agree with you.” She crunches happily on the popcorn, enjoying the buttery taste. Looking up, she tosses a piece of popcorn at him. “I dunno. We could do that pillow fight?” She suggests, that being the only thing she can think of right now.
"I'll be finnneeeeee," He assured, waving his hand with a great big grin. He bent down to catch the bit of popcorn and crunched on it with the others. "Mmm! Yes, let's do that." He grabbed up his pillow after carefully setting down his bowl and grinning at hers.
"Hurry and get yours!"
Hopping to her feet, she grabs a pillow. “Prepare to taste defeat!” She tells him with a mischievous grin. “Go!” After signaling that they’re starting, she swings her pillows at him, bouncing around the fort to try and avoid being hit.
Cameron ducked under her pillow, giggling wildly as he dove for her dancing legs, grabbing her and started gently hitting her with the pillow. "You have already tasted defeat, Ava!" He exclaimed triumphantly. He knew for a fact she couldn't throw him off.
Ava squeals when he grabs her and starts to hitting her with the pillow. “You aren’t going to win that easily!” She insists, smacking him upside of his head with the pillow. That’s when she starts to squirm and wiggle and thrash around to get away from him.
"Oof!" He wiggled off of her and backed away with his pillow bared like a shield, hiding his beaming smile behind the fluffy surface of it.
"You're just stubborn! You know I'll win this!"
“You have no chance of winning!” She grabs another pillow and chucks it at him as a distraction. Only a split second after that, she starts to wildly swing the pillow still in her hands.
"Aaaaaaaahh!" Cameron barely barred her off with the pillow he had, grabbing for the second one and standing up with both. He smacked her with one gently, following up with the second wildly.
Ava fends off his attacks as best as she can. When she gets an opening, she darts behind him and hops onto his back. “Give up now and I’ll show you some mercy!” Her face is flushed red and she’s laughing and smiling like crazy.
Cameron was bumped down onto the ground, giggling as he was attacked. "AhhhHHhhhhh you've killed me!" He squealed meekly, wriggling under her but smiling anyway. He tried to throw her off, but didn't really feel like it, so he just wriggled there.
Ava sits on top of him, a huge smile on her face. “Told ya that I would win.” She fixes him with a smug look before hitting him once more with the pillow. Satisfied that her assault has been successful, she just sprawls out on top on him.
Cameron tilted his head so they were face to face after she laid out across him, grinning. "Are you comfortable on me or something?" He asked, pressing a small kiss to her nose. She looked so cute wih her big, smug smile. "And just so you know, I let you win."
“Very comfortable.” Ava confirms, her smile only growing. Despite her best efforts to stop it, a blush spread across her face when he kisses her nose. “You most certainly did not let me win. I kicked your ass far and square.” Puffing out her cheeks, she settles down.
Cameron smiled back at her blooming smile and blush, the blush infecting his cheeks as he gave her another kiss on her nose. "Mmm. Okay. You know I could've, I just didn't want to hurt you and ruin the night. This has been really nice, me and you together again."
Ava’s nose instinctively crinkles up when it receives another kiss. “You couldn’t have hurt me, even if you had wanted too.” She rests her chin on his chest and peers into his eyes. “Yeah, it really have been nice. I really have missed you.” Without thinking about it, she snuggles up against him.
Cameron watched her snuggle closer, and he turned a little to gently pull her close to him so he could hug her back. He set his head down on the pillows, taking her up and snuggling her closer to his chest. He pulled over the popcorn and tiredly ate one, his energy wearing off as her warmth pulled at his eyelids.
Ava turns her head to the side so she can be more comfortable. With a happy sigh, she closes her eyes, her arms wrapped around him. It’s been so nice to spend the day with him. She hates that she’s only going to be in town for two weeks when she’d love to stay longer.
