I want it, but there’s a difference in wanting and being ready for it.
“Then when I’m ready for it,” she shivered against him, at his careful touches, at the movement of his mouth against hers, “I’ll call you that.”
I want it, but there’s a difference in wanting and being ready for it.
“Then when I’m ready for it,” she shivered against him, at his careful touches, at the movement of his mouth against hers, “I’ll call you that.”
“Deal,” Sterling murmured. He kissed her for a moment longer before gently taking her cheek in his hand and pushing back slowly. “Now, you should probably go shower before we have to leave for school.”
Her heart sank in her chest as she remembered who exactly would be at school, but she managed to peel herself off of her boyfriend.
“Right,” she mumbled. “I won’t be long. And if I do take long, Ainsley, don’t try to break down the door. I won’t do anything stupid.”
Sterling blinked and pushed himself into a sitting position. “I didn’t think you would, but thank you for clarifying,” he said softly as he watched her. “I’ll be right here.”
“All right,” Eden hummed as she walked to her closet, taking out her clothes and undergarments. The towels were already inside, so she didn’t need to find those. With another smile toward Sterling, she walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind herself.
Once Eden was in the bathroom, Sterling got up and grabbed his clothes from beside the door. He quickly changed back into them, setting the clothes he had borrowed on the floor, and then laid back in bed to wait for Eden.
Eden breathed when she stepped out of the shower and dried herself off. She slipped on her clothes, tying the towel around her hair once she was done. Finally, she exited out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, blinking when she caught Sterling on the bed.
“Lazy bum,” she chuckled, walking over to him. She poked his strong muscle. “Get up now.”
“Hey, I was just waiting for you,” Sterling laughed, grabbing her hand as he stood. He pulled her close to himself and wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in her neck. “Have I told you how beautiful you are today?”
Eden smiled, relaxing considerably in his embrace as if she was melting. He was such a charmer…
“You have not,” she murmured, shivering at his breath on her neck. “Please, do tell.”
“Breathtaking… Enchanting… Captivating,” Sterling breathed. He pressed his lips to her forehead, holding the kiss for a moment before he finally pulled away to look in her eyes with a soft smile. “My favorite girl.”
Heart hammering, chest pounding, Eden opened her eyes, not knowing when she had closed them. Her lips parted, but for a while, nothing came out. Finally, she released a shaky breath.
“I’m your only girl,” she murmured, tracing his features with pruny fingers. “But I still love being your favorite.”
Sterling chuckled softly, twisting to kiss her fingers. “Yeah, of course. My one and only girl. Hence the reason you’re my favorite.”
Eden chuckled at his kiss, reaching up to press her lips against his cheek. It was hard given her height, but she managed to pull him down as well.
“Well, I’m glad,” she smiled. “Like I said, I love being your one and only.”
“And I love being yours,” Sterling hummed, though his breath almost caught on the words. When would he be able to hear/say “love” without thinking about her confession? “Ready to go?”
Eden furrowed her eyebrows at his slightly breathless attempt at telling her that, though she paid it no attention.
“I need to brush my hair,” she chuckled, pulling away from him and removing the towel from her hair. “So just give me a few minutes.”
Sterling crinkled his nose but sat on the edge of the bed to watch her. “You sure you can’t just go to school with your hair in the towel?” he joked.
Eden snorted, reaching for her brush and running it through her considerably long hair. “I used to have short hair before,” she hummed, a small smile on her features, hint of pain in het eyes. “Adrien didn’t like long hair. Growing it out was my first act of defiance against him.”
Sterling watched her carefully, nodding as she spoke. “I like it… But I would like it no matter how you wore it. The hair doesn’t make the person,” he murmured gently.
“Thank you for letting me know that,” she ran the brush through her hair once more, “I like long hair. I honestly can’t stand short anymore.”
Sterling hummed as he stood. “Yeah, I bet… Is this the longest you’ve had it since then?”
“Yeah,” Eden set the brush aside, turning to her boyfriend. “Never had it cut since then. Well, if you don’t count the monthly one-inch cuts to get rid of dead-ends.”
“Oh. Yeah I guess I wouldn’t count that,” Sterling said with a shrug. He held his hand out to her. “Let’s go, yeah? Or are you still not ready?”
“I’m ready,” Eden rolled her eyes as she took his hand. “Just need to grab my bag on the way out. I prefer not using a locker.”
“I use both,” Sterling said with a shrug as they left the room. “It’s easier to carry hem to school in, but I prefer only carrying the books I need for one class at a time. Unless my next class is all the way at the other end of the school. Then I just carry my backpack.”
“I can use my bag to hit people,” Eden shrugged, snatching her bag from the couch. “It feels pleasant.”
