She slipped into her house and did her best to avoid her parents, only giving them a nod to tell them that she was here. She had just slept this past night and she was wide awake, questions about Kieran's world running through her mind as she waited for a few hours to pass so she could go back and see him.
Keiran fell into slumber, resting his head back against the tree with thoughts of Naudia on his mind. He woke up early and first checked their spot on the beach, she wasn't there quite yet so he looked around the island and managed to find some mangos and a coconut. He brought them with him to the beach and sat in the sand to wait for Nautia, using a bit more of the medicine she had brought him to help his wing heal. His wing was actually looking a lot better already since luckily a perk of bird wings is although they are more fragile they heal faster than some other types of wings.
Nautia sighed, wondering if Kieran was awake yet. She shrugged and quickly swam out of her house so she could go meet him again, a small smile on her face. Her parents would probably be mad that she was disappearing for another day, but she didn't care, this was one of the few days she had left before she had to see if she was to become the next queen of the sea.
Keiran sat in the sand and cut open the mangoes while he waited, a light smile stayed on his face as he waited.
She cut through the water silently, a happy smile on her face as she reached the island. She stayed in the water for a few minutes before coming above the waves and swimming to the shore, "Hi Kieran," She said, laying on her stomach as near to the shore as she could.
Keiran looked up and smiled. "Hi Nautia." He came and sat closer to her, slightly in the water. He brought tha mangos he cut up and coconut that he had cracked open with him. "I found some fruit on the island earlier"
Her face lit up and her tail swished in the water happily, "Really? What fruit is it?" She asked, full of joy and curiousity.
He set down the fruit on a rock that was poking out of the water. "That ones a mango, and that one is a coconut you can both drink the liquid thats in it and eat the white part." He explained pointing at each fruit.
She carefully picked up the one that he said was a mango and studied it, poking the fruit before taking a cautious bite, surprised by the sweetness of the fruit, "I like this one," She said with a smile, taking another bite before setting it down and turning her attention to the coconut.
The coconut was in half, one side was full of a liquid and the other one was empty, he gestured to the one that was full first. "The liquid is coconut water, I'm not going to lie I don't personally like it but I figured I'd give you the option to try it." He laughed lighyly before gesturing to the other half. "I emptied out that half since you can eat the white part lf it too and I think it tastes a lot better than the water."
"Is the liquid sweet?" She asked, dipping her fingers into it slowly. She looked at the coconut water curiously before tasting it, her nose wrinkling slightly, "It's sort of sweet, but there's another taste..and I don't like it.." She said before pointing to the white part of the other half, "What does the white part taste like?"
"Yeah I'm not a fan of the coconut water either. The white stuff is more of the sweet flavour and doesn't have much of the other taste that the coconut water has." He explained
"Do I just peel it off of the shell?" She asked, picking up the empty half and poking at the white stuff, "It looks like it'll taste better than the coconut water." She said with a smile, looking up at him, "Is all fruit this sweet?"
"Yeah exactly, not all fruit is sweet things like lemons, limes and green apples are more sour, grapefruit which is more bitter. A lot of fruits are sweet but they all taste very different."
She nodded and peeled off a small piece of the white stuff, popping it in her mouth and smiling at the sweet taste, "I think I've heard of lemons before, they're yellow, right?"
He smiled "That's the one." He answered, popping a peice of mango into his mouth.
Nautia smiled proudly and took another piece of the coconut, "Did you find enough food here on the island for yourself? Or should I catch some fish so that you don't starve?"
"No thats alright I should be able to manage. My wing shouldn't take too long to heal" He answered, greatful for the offer
She nodded, "Alright then, just tell me if you need anything else." She continued eating the white part of the coconut with a smile, loving the sweet taste.
Keiran nodded and continued wating the fruit with her. "If you ever need anything from me don't be afraid to ask as well." He smiled genuinely.
(Sorry I have work today so I might not be on much)
(Alrighty)
She nodded and matched his smile, her tail flicking around in the water silently. "Are people like you able to withstand the rain or storms?" She asked, genuinely curious.
"It depends on the instensity of the storm, if it's pouring enough to get my wings soaking wet then its risky and we have to be careful of lightning too but generally its fine." He answered "What are storms like for you?"
"Most of the time they're actually quite nice, though we have to be extra cautious around lightening," She said, looking up at the sky, "The only downside is that they block out the sun and it becomes even darker in the water.."
"Yeah that makes sense" He looked out over the water "I wish I could see what it's like to live underwater."
She sighed, "You could gladly take my place in the sea if I could take your place in the sky.." She said, rolling onto her back, "The ocean isn't as wonderful as you think it is."
