Keiran listened intently as she described her species adaptations, "Its so interesting how we have adapted in such different ways to withstand such different things." He thought for a moment "Its interesting to also think about how down the line our adaptations might change to make us even stronger." He smiled and laughed lightly "Perhaps someday winged people will adapt to be able swim without being pulled down by waterlogged feathers." He added jokingly.

She nodded and smiled, laughing lightly as well, "Yeah, maybe then you won't have to rely on a mermaid to pity you and save your winged self from the water." Nautia thought over her species and realized she probably got the better flip of the coin, with the ability to come onto land without showing that she was a mermaid. Keiran couldn't hide his wings at all.
Keiran laughed "On the other hand if I was able to swim I probably never would have met you."
"That's true," She agreed, still smiling, "You probably would still run across a different mermaid. One that wouldn't help you or show you somewhere to stay while your wing heals." Nautia looked over at his wings and couldn't help but wish she could fly. Not is a human made plane that flew over her home, but with wings like Keiran's.
"Whatever the case may be, I'm happy to have the honor of meeting you." He smiled brightly. He looked briefly back to the sky, the sun had vanished beyond the horizon and the sky was now dark, slowly revealing bright stars lighting up the sky.
"I'm happy to have met you too," She said, looking up at him before following his gaze to the sky. An amazed smile broke onto her face at the scene and she didn't take her eyes off of it as she sat down on the ground to just admire it. "Wow…it's even prettier up here than from the water."
Keiran followed and sat down beside her. "I like the way the stars reflect on the water, almost makes it feel like theres nothing but stars."
She nodded, watching the stars reflections ripple on the waves, "Do you always get to see the night sky like this when you're flying?"
"If I fly above the clouds I can usually see them." He answered "Hey is anyone going to be wondering where you are? I don't want to get you in trouble?"
Nautia shrugged, thinking about if her absence was going to be a big deal while looking out on the water, "Some people might wonder, and I'll most likely be in trouble from my mother and friend, but it's not the first time I've stayed away from the city for so long. Plus…me and my mother are in an argument at the moment, so I really don't want to go back."
He smiled softly "alright then" he was glad she didn't have to leave yet. He was so used to being alone but he really enjoyed her company "Do you want to talk about it? The fight with your mother I mean?" He asked politely, trying not to stick his nose into business that wasn't his.
"She wants me to marry the son of one of her closest friends." She replied, seeming unbothered by his question as she picked at the grass, "He's the prince, and a sweet guy, but he's also one of my closest friends and I don't like him romantically at all. We were fighting over my decision, since she has an equal part in the decision as I do, one of the customs of our kind."
"Ah I'm sorry that really sucks, can't parents just let their kids marry whoever they want and be happy?" He responded.
Nautia shrugged and laughed lightly, "It's fine, the biggest problem is that I'm getting very close to the age that any of our kind are married by, and I still haven't found anyone, so this is their solution. Plus it would make me the princess, and eventually the Queen, something I really don't want to deal with."

(Ooo yeah lol, having the warranty expire isn't fun when things break)
(Haha yeah, Can't complain too much about getting a brand new replacement I'm just upset that I lost all of my photos and files off it)
(Oof yeah, that's not fun…maybe they could try to get some of the stuff back before you get a new one?)
(We couldn't get the stuff back ourselves because to do that we would have had to take the harddrive out but if we took the harddrive out the warranty wouldn't work anymore, my mom wrote a letter and put a flash drive in the box explaining the situation and asked if there was anyway they could back it up for me so I guess there is still some hope haha)

"Well I hope you can find some kind of loophole or solution to that, on the bright side at least shes not making you marry someone you don't even know?" He responded trying and likley failing to be helpful, he didn't know very much about arranged marriage since his people didn't usually do them.
She shrugged again, "I mean, I don't mind marrying him, it's the responsibility that comes with it..and the fact that if I do I'll never be able to come up to the surface by myself again." That was the part that she hated the most since as soon as she was married to him, she would be a member of the royal family and would always have to have someone with her.
