Sorin popped open the microwave and set the mozzarella sticks in before closing it and setting it to twenty-five seconds. "Well, that's all gonna change now that you're here."
Sorin popped open the microwave and set the mozzarella sticks in before closing it and setting it to twenty-five seconds. "Well, that's all gonna change now that you're here."
"Alright… what's that you're making?" Cas watched the microwave curiously. "It smells good."
"Mozzarella sticks?" he looked at him curiously as he crossed his arms and leaned against the kitchen counter. "You've ever had one before?"
Cas shook his head. "Is that not normal…?"
Sorin stood up straight. "Oh no, I didn't mean it like that," he immediately grabbed the bowl out of the microwave the second it started beeping and put it in front of Cas. "Would you like marinara or honey mustard with that?"
Cas gave Sorin a small, bewildered smile as he glanced to the side and back. "…What?" He felt like this was something he should know, but clearly he was clueless.
When was the last time he ate at all? "How about I give you both and you tell me which one you like more," Sorin opened the fridge and grabbed two small bowls and set them in front of him.
"Okay." Cas blew on the mozzarella sticks once they were given to him to cool them down. When they were edible, he dipped it into the marinara and took a bite. "Not bad… What did you say these were?"
"Mozzarella sticks," Sorin smiled. "Uh, they're essentially just breaded cheese."
Cas nodded, swinging his legs a bit in front of the stool he was sitting on. "I like them." He tried it in the honey mustard as well and glanced between the two. "I think I like the red one better."
"You're welcome to take whatever you want to eat here, you know."
"Oh… I don't want to take too much of your food. It's scarce this season." He ate another mozzarella stick. "Do you want some?"
Sorin shook his head. "Please, eat all the food you want. I could always get more."
"From where? Do you go to the town market too?" Cas flicked an ear, purring very quietly in content.
"Yes?" Sorin chuckled. "Uh, what do you want to drink?"
"…Water?" There's other things to drink? Maybe he means milk, but I'm too old for that now…
"I have lemonade, grape juice, beer, and milk as well but if you want water then that's fine," Sorin walked towards one of his cabinets and grabbed a cup.
"Yeah, I… the only other thing I recognize is milk, and I'm too old for that now. Why do you have it, anyway?" Cas sipped the water when it was given to him.
"What do you mean?" Sorin poured himself a glass of water.
"Well, as milk comes from mother animals and consumed by their young, and you and I are both too old to need it, it seems a rather strange thing to have… not to mention, probably difficult to get."
Sorin looked at him curiously and scratched the back of his head. "Um…I'm curious as to what species you belong to. Where I come from people can drink milk at any time."
Cas shrugged. "Some sort of human cat, I guess? I never figured out whether or not my father was the same, and I didn't know my mother. I have some more… animalistic behaviors, but I mostly live a human life."
"Interesting… there are people like you back in my world…um, Nekos? I think it's what we call them back there."
"I suppose you could call me that, yeah. I'd tell you more, but unfortunately I'm rather uninformed about my own species." Cas yawned again, his ears turning back. "It seems I'm capable of eating human foods just fine, though."
"Are you tired?"
