Sorin quickly glanced at him then back to his book. "Put the hat on," he said without looking at him. "You wouldn't want anyone to see that now."
Sorin quickly glanced at him then back to his book. "Put the hat on," he said without looking at him. "You wouldn't want anyone to see that now."
Cas quickly pulled the hat back over his ears and held it there, a faint blush rising to his cheeks. He looked around to make sure no one else had seen, which luckily, they were alone. "You… you won't tell anyone?" He asked quietly.
Sorin pulled out the buds from his ears and looked at him, a small smile appearing on his lips as he began to take in his features. "Why would I?"
"Well… just having them could get me killed. Magic isn't exactly welcome here…" Cas looked away, hesitantly letting go of his hat in favor of fidgeting with his hands.
"How come?" he closed the book with a thud and set it down beside him.
Cas shrugged. "The 'normal' people don't like it. It scares them. I take it you're not from around here?"
"You could say that," he ran his fingers through his curly hair and sighed as he leaned against the tree. "Anyways, why are you here?"
"Hmm? Oh! Some lady asked where my parents were because she thought I was a kid, so I lied and said my brother brought me." Cas started explaining. "And I sorta saw you and said you were my brother, and once she left I figured I might as well come say hi."
"Oh?" he looked at him as he cocked an eyebrow. "Lying's a sin, you know."
"I know, but if I say I live in the streets because both my parents are either dead or gone, I'll be put in foster care and my secret would most definitely be found out." Cas said simply.
Sorin tensed and clenched his jaw. "I…" he sighed and tried his hardest not to say anything to hurt him but all he could say was, "I'm sorry."
Cas shrugged. "It's not your fault. That was three years ago… I'm pretty much over it by now." Cas yawned. His canine teeth were ironically more feline, being a bit thinner and quite sharp.
"If you'd like I could offer you a place to stay," as quick as the words came out from his lips, he regretted them instantly.
Cas looked up, a bit surprised. "…Why would you want to help someone like me? I'm a freak."
He gaped at him. "You're kidding me right?"
"Well, that's what society says. Magical people are out of the ordinary, and they don't like it…" Cas looked down.
"So what if they don't?" he gently lifted his head up. "Listen to me, you are good just the way you are. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Cas blushed a bit, but nodded. "I-I… alright… I can't help but wonder why you want to help me, though. You could get in trouble."
Sorin shrugged. "I can't be friendly?"
"Well, you offered to let me live with you…" He made eye contact with Sorin, the gold flecks in his eyes catching the sun.
"And?" he soaked up his admirable features. "You're pretty, by the way."
Cas blushed harder and looked down again. "Th-Thanks… you're not so bad yourself…" He couldn't help but grin a bit.
Sorin chuckled then stood up. "C'mon. My flat is not that far from here so we could walk…or fly if you'd like."
"What do you mean, fly?" Cas stood as well, showing just how short he was compared to Sorin.
Sorin tried to not to smile as he stood up, now seeing just how small he was. "I'm an angel." Fallen angel.
