(Hey, sorry I kinda disappeared for a moment, went through a tough break up)
Alex blinked down at the bottle in his hands. He figured they would be some kind of pain killers, they just looked so different from what he was used to. He nodded once in thanks, just noting the fact that it wad an apology, “How many am I supposed to take?”
(It's okay, shit happens. I'm glad you're back!)
"Three." Adrien relaxed slightly when Alex took them, nervous energy slipping out of him until he was left sleep soft and slightly rumpled. He perched delicately on the arm on the couch. His fingers tapped slowly against his chest as he tried to find a way to fill the awkward silence. "Pass it to me when you're done. Please."
Alex nodded and hummed his response. He quickly took out three pills and dry swallowed them nearly effortlessly, his nose scrunching up once he'd swallowed was the only sign of discomfort that he showed… and one he didn't show often, "Here." He mumbled, passing the bottle to Adrien.
Adrien dry swallowed a small handful, completely at ease. He leaned over to set the bottle down on the coffee table and, noticing Alex's discomfort, awkwardly patted him on the back. He'd never been good at comforting people. "Um… Do you want some water?"
Alex shook his head, "No, thank you, I'm fine." He replied, raking a hand through his hair. He muffled a yawn with the back of his hand, exhaustion finally catching up on him, "Is there a place I could take a nap or something?"
Adrien frowned and gave Alex an assessing once over. They didn't have a guestroom and Alex couldn't sleep on the couch or dad would see him before he left for work, so that left one option: his room. Alex probably wouldn't do anything. Hopefully. "Yeah, follow me," Adrien grumbled, slipping off the couch and leading Alex back into his room.
Alex nodded and followed, without protest for once in his life. He was honestly too tired to do anything even if the thought had crossed his mind, which it hadn't. His magic was drained and the injuries were taking their toll finally.
Adrien gestured towards his bed, a little surprised by how exhausted Alex seemed. Maybe this would turn out fine after all. "Make yourself at home. I'll be right back." He grabbed some pajamas and walked into the bathroom to change.
Alex hummed a response and neatly took off his worn out shoes, placing them to the side. He yawned and slowly climbed into one side of the bed, making sure to leave more then enough room for Adrien. It didn't take more then five minutes before he was out like a light.
Adrien tossed his old clothes over onto the floor, now wearing some plaid pajama bottoms and an oversized sweater. He wasn't surprised to see that Alex was already asleep, but he was surprised by how peaceful he looked. He was actually kind of cute when he wasn't being an ass- and no! No, he wasn't going to do this right now! He crawled into bed, back facing Alex, and drifted off to sleep.
The night seemed to pass quickly, Alex sleeping deeply for the entirety of it and not waking once. Even when the sun started to rise and the rays beamed down on the two of them, he didn’t wake up yet, too comfortable to do so.
Adrien woke up three times, once an hour after falling asleep for no discernable reason, once from chest pains so bad he almost couldn't make the walk to the kitchen for his painkillers and the third time because he'd managed to roll over into Alex in the middle of the night and his shoulder was poking him in the chin. He groaned loudly, rolling away from the world walker, and shoved his head under a pillow.
Now that finally work Alex up. The moving around and the groaning. He slowly awoke and rolled onto his stomach, ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his body at the movement. He wanted to push Adrien out the bed but refrained, just.
Adrien curled up onto his side and very quietly cursed under his breath when he heard Alex move. He prayed Alex wouldn't care too much that Adrien was touching him in his sleep, but given his track record with the guy so far things weren't looking good. "So…"
“Has anyone ever told you you move a lot in your sleep?” Alex mumbled, wrapping his around the pillow. He slowly opened his eye, wincing slightly at the bright light. Yeah he really wasn’t used to it, but he supposed he had to, even though he didn’t want to.
"No, normally I'm too drugged up." Adrien mentally high fived himself because he didn't seem to have pissed off Alex too badly yet and stretched. His back popped loudly, followed by his shoulders and left elbow. He winced. "Um… sorry about that."
Alex grunted slightly in response as an ‘it’s whatever’ type of thing. He sighed before pushing himself up into his arms, stretching himself. He could feel his power pretty much completely refreshed, and he knew he wouldn’t be so grumpy… well, maybe, “Why did you get up in the night?”
"Hmm? Oh, I have heart problems." Adrien leaned back against the bed frame, muffling a yawn with his hands. "I get these really awful chest aches," Adrien rubbed is chest unconsciously, "and they can make me pass out if I'm not careful so I had to go grab some Advil. It doesn't work super well but it's all I can really afford. Anyways, why do you care?"
Alex rolled his eyes, waving his hand idly, “Aight whatever then, sorry for trying to be civil.” He grumbled, sitting on the end of the red away form Adrien. He rolled his shoulders, warming up his muscles. He knew he’d be jumping soon.
Adrien rolled his eyes, a little hurt because he'd been asking a serious question. He slid down onto his back, splaying out on the bed, and sighed. "I was being civil," he said pointedly. "You just can't tell the difference between sarcasm and sincerity."
“Technicalities that won’t matter in the long run,” He sighed, doing a few more arm stretches and muffling a yawn, “I can prove that everything I’m saying is true, now. I can make the jumps.”
"Technicalities that mean everything when trying to convince a cynical stranger to trust you." Adrien sent him a meaningful glare. "Maybe I don't wanna go somewhere unfamiliar with an asshole stranger, ever think of that?"
Alex rubbed his face with both hands, “Fine, right whatever,” He mumbled, “Sorry.” Goddamn he hated apologising, but he’d do it if it meant any chance of convincing Adrien.
"I'm incredibly moved by your deeply profound and heartfelt apology," Adrien deadpanned, resting his hands on his stomach. "But the answer is still 'you're creepy and I don't wanna go anywhere with you', sorry."
“Okay, I get it. I’m creepy, I’m weird, I’m talking shit that makes no sense,” Alex half looked over his shoulder at Adrien, “I’m sorry for being such an ass, it’s just who I am but please, one jump there and one jump back. If somehow you still don’t believe me, I’ll leave you alone.”
