Cas nodded in agreement "can't be anything good. I think we should be stayed home…" He shook his head and smiled

"People could be dying, Castiel," she replied firmly. "We have to go."

"I've got it under control, dear friend. Sit down and recuperate," she assured him, suddenly calm. She pulled out a carton of eggs, cheese, vegetables, butter and a deep pan. Setting up the station, she started whistling.

Rook looked after Mania suspiciously. Her sudden mood swings always made him skeptical of her motives… but she was the best cook, so he dropped the issue. "So… is everything almost ready for stage two?"

He sighed dramatically "FIiiiiiiineeeee. Jeeze, can't these people learn to take care of themselves for once?"

She turned the heat on, sensing Rook's skepticism. She faced him, leaning backwards over the open flame.
"The folders should be in the training room. And I've sharpened and cleaned the necessary objects."

Rook smiled and rolled his eyes. "I wasn't doubting your competence, I was wondering how the stupid henchmen faired. Are you sure they're necessary? It'd be much easier just to be rid of them all and do it ourselves!"

She rolled her eyes. "Not everyone has superpowers, Cas… We have to help them."

He sighed, knowing she was right "I know, I wouldn't trade it for the for world, being able to help people. But sometimes I just want a break, let someone else be the hero and for once feel vulnerable. Feel as if I need saving too."

"I'll save you," she joked, giving him a whisper of a kiss to tease him.

He grinned "save me or ultamite kill me?" Lacing his hands behind his head, he glanced over at her

She looked at him genuinely. "Save you."

His eyes softened "and I would do the same for you." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders "think we're missing any school work? Or are we automatically suspended?"

"By now, I would guess suspension," she replied with a smile.

"man, I was gonna make honor role this semester…" He shrugged "oh well,"

She giggled. "Sorry to ruin your school record… we're doing community service."

"you know I never did the hours required for community service and they let me pass? A bunch a lies they tell us." He shook his head and grinned

"Oh, stop complaining you crybaby," she teased. "Let's go."

"I'm not, I got an A for that class." he smiled and nodded "town hall first? oooh or the library…"

She shook her head. "You're so strange… We could split up if you wanted. But I have dibs on the library."

"aw that's not fair," Cas complained "can you pick up some books for me at least?" He stepped aside and switched into Fuego, shirt burning into Ash and his markings turned white

Marina laughed as she turned into Cyren. "Fine."

"Yay, thanks." he kissed the top of her head "stay safe, as always my water girl. and please, don't fall off any more buildings." he pleaded as he head off towards one of the taller buildings

Cyren shook her head. "No promises," she whispered, heading for the library.

He climbed a fire escape to the top and scanned the area, looking for any signs of Rook or his new companion
