Once everyone around him was safe, he sprinted back to where he last saw Cyren. Spinning in a circle trying to find her, he ran through all the what ifs in his mind what if Rook got away….what if she's with him….what if she's in trouble… Spying some familiar blue hues among the destruction, Fuego picked his way down carefully towards her. "Oh no, not again love." He pulled her shaking form into a tight hug and started to hum a song his mother taught him when younger
She gasped. His touch was enough to pull her out of it. "Fuego?! I thought the earthquake had killed you."
He shook his head "nope, still alive. I told you, it's going to take more then the elements and some explosion to kill me." He held her tight not wanting to let go "are you ok?"
She nodded weakly. "Rook went for the hospital," she explained, pointing in the direction.
Rook flew through the halls, swerving in-between screaming nurses and doctors. He stopped. This was the door. He flew into it feet first, blowing it off of its hinges. Finally. He crossed the room quickly and smashed a glass case filled with vials. He quickly began storing them away in special pockets of his jacket, made particularly for this.
"oh no, he's going for the vials of drugs there. Are you well enough to fight?" He asked
"Someone's going to have to stop this earthquake," she said quietly.
Rook hummed quietly to himself as he floated a few inches off the floor through the shaking halls. He had what he had come for. Now if only the Dynamic super-Duo would make their move, he could put them in check.
"That doesn't answer the question, are you well enough to fight?" he asked again, not letting her out of his grasp until she answered a suitable answer
"I'm not going to be able to fight, I have to stop this earthquake!" Her eyes glistened with tears. "People are dying, Cas…"
He nodded and released her, "I'll sweep the town one more time to search for more survivors. I'll join you again once the city is safe." he kissed her head. "stay safe my water girl." he muttered
"You too, my fire boy," she whispered.
He glanced down at her with love before running off to find more people, "alright if I were a person trying to run for my life, where would I go?"
Cyren closed her eyes and began to breathe long, drawn out breaths.
"bingo," he headed for a library that was still somehow standing "hello?!" he saw a few people in the corner and guided them to safety. Going back in to find a few more people, "is that it?" he asked
Cyren opened her eyes – the irises a brilliant electric blue. She saw the people fleeing and smiled. "Well done, my fire boy."
Rook sighed. he was getting impatient. Looks like I'll have to take matters into my own hands… Rook went to the roof of the hospital. "Hello there!" he shouted gleefully. "Where are you? I just want to talk, if you come up here, I'll stop the quake! Or you could let people die… Your choice! You have ten minutes, though I'm sure more lives will be lost in that time, so I'd hurry." He laughed and stepped down from the helicopter landing pad and out of sight.
Cyren knew he was talking to her. "I'm sorry, my fire boy," she whispered, and shot out in a stream of water and landed on the helicopter pad in front of Rook. "What do you want, Rook? Stop this earthquake!"
alrighty, library down, now where….Fuego ran around the city, trying to avoid the splits in the ground "people trying to survive an earthquake, where are you?" He spotted another buolding that was still standing and ran to it
Rook grinned as Cyren appeared on the roof. "Well, that's a neat little trick! Where's the hot head?"
"Save it," she spat. "Stop the earthquake. What di you want"
"is everyone out?" he asked one of the people, who could only nod out of fear. Fuego nodded "stay away from major cracks." he warned as he ran to the roof where he spotted Cyren and Rook
He shook his head. "Sorry, I need to talk to the both of you, and then I'll make it stop. As soon as you are both up here."
She gritted her teeth, her powerful eyes looking him up and down. "Why?"
He spread his arms. "Because I have something to say, and I want you both to hear it! why else?"
