“I’m not a murderer,” Vaughn snapped. “And yes, you are. All those meds, what you did- you’re fucking insane.”
“I’m not a murderer,” Vaughn snapped. “And yes, you are. All those meds, what you did- you’re fucking insane.”
"Yep. Clinically and medically insane. Have been for quite a few years now." She smiled innocently.
Vaughn sneered at that. “My point exactly,” he said.
"I never said you were wrong. I'm just saying that you're crazy too. You see shadows of people that aren't there and hear voices just like I do."
“You don’t know anything. I’m perfectly healthy,” Vaughn said with a frown. The silhouette standing behind him laughed.
"Your medical records and old psychiatrist beg to differ, love."
“Don’t call me that,” Vaughn growled. While she was attractive, he would never think if getting with her.
"Too late. That's just what I do." She shrugged.
Vaughn rolled his eyes. “I’ve had enough of this,” he said as he stood.
She didn't try to stop him. "You know, for someone so attractive, you'd think you know that disgust isn't a good look for you, honey."
“Insanity doesn’t look too hot on you either,” Vaughn snapped as he walked away. He went to the exit and headed back onto the street.
She smirked to herself. "If he thinks this is insanity then he's got another thing coming." She headed out after him, heading towards home.
Where should Vaughn go? He couldn’t go home, she would go there possibly. After a minute of thought, he took back alleys and such to a suburban neighborhood.
She arrived at her apartment and almost instantly craved the cold numbness that her pills gave her. She couldn't help herself, she broke into her cabinet and took three insanity pills. She knew she shouldn't but hey, it was the self doses that got her through things.
Vaughn walked up to a nice house and knocked on the door. A young woman opened it and seemed surprised when she saw him. “Ms.Beck. I’d like to cash in that favow now…”
It took a couple minutes before the chemicals kicked in and took control of her lowered mental health, filling it with a fake one but it was enough for her to be considered somewhat stable.
The woman let him inside. “Ben is already asleep. What is it?” She asked, leading him to sit on the couch. Vaughn explained everything to her that had happened.
She headed back out, making sure to lock the door before leaving. Already she felt so much better, the cool night air calming her jacked up nerves. She was crazy, yes, but not by choice.
Ms. Beck gave him a sympathetic look. “Of course you can stay. You saved me and my son from my husband. I am so greatful for that,” she said with a smile, and Vaughn forced a small one in response.
She ducked down an alley and followed the familiar trail until she reached a group of guys. They all looked up at her, some smiled, some just looked confused. The leader stood and grinned, walking over to her. "Hey Pop Rocks. Been a while. What brings you back to my neck of the woods?" "Luke, I've got a problem." "That's nothing new." She glared at the black haired boy. "Alright, what is it?" "Got a new criminal that thinks I'm a psycho but even worse, he might turn me in."
Ms. Breck led him up to the guest bedroom. “I’ll be down the hall if you need anything,” she told him, and he nodded before she left and shut the door behind her. He sighed softly and pulled off his shirt.
(She has a million nicknames, I just need to create secondary characters to call her them)
Luke was your typical bad boy gang leader. Only 25, a year older than Roxanne, he'd fought his way to the top with brute force. He was 5'9", muscular, had black hair and sparkling green eyes with tan skin probably a shade below milk chocolate riddled with scars. He had a permanent smirk on his lips that made girls melt and he'd been Roxie's biggest help with crimes since she and Jace had first started out. "Right. What's his name?" "Vaughn." "What, no last name?" "Didn't catch that part."
Vaughn stripped down to his boxer-briefs. He looked at himself in a mirror that was in the room, at all the different scars. He huffed and grabbed a tissue, wiping the blood from the cut on his arm.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and turned back to the group. "To those of you who are new here, this is Roxanne Marx." The new guys gasped. "Like…the Roxanne Marx?" "The one and only." She smirked lightly. "I thought you were dead!" "Everyone did. Nope. I'm still here." "Anyway! We've got a new mission! Take out this guy threatening her."
Vaughn would be alright. He had delt with this thing before. He could end this easily. He was smart, he knew what to do. But for now, he needed to catch up on rest and get a proper meal in the morning. Then he could pick his things up and prepare.
