Lori couldn't help but chuckle at the intoxicating responses she was getting out of Ellie. “That's not something you easily forget, my love.” she purred.

“That much is clear,” Ellie replied, pecking Lori’s lips with her own. “I’m glad I can amuse you, my darling!”

Lori smiled lovingly at the quick kiss. “You are just so adorable when you make those little noises. Can you blame me for wanting to savor them?”

Ellie blushed heavily. “I suppose not, my love.” Her gaze softened, and all of a sudden, she felt sleepy. She yawned against her own will.

“Get some rest, Ellie.” Lori whispered, kissing her cheek softly. “It's been a long day for you. I’ll stay by your side.” she assured.

Ellie closed her eyes and smiled at her partner’s words. She was about to respond, but the exhaustion in her won her over. She was asleep almost instantly.

Lorelei watched as Ellie finally fell asleep, chuckling softly at how quickly it happened. She made sure to move carefully as she sat up for a moment to take off her boots, then lay back down and wrapped her arms around her beloved princess.

Ellie shifted closer and instinctively curled into Lori’s touch. Even in sleep, the princess needed to be close to her pirate.

Lori smiled at the sweet gesture and softly kissed Ellie’s forehead. She wasn't exactly tired yet, and this wouldn't be her first time staying awake while her love slept. But this time she wouldn't have to worry about some guard or maid coming in to check on the princess so she could stay like this for as long as she wanted… Or until she finally fell asleep herself.

Ellie had never before considered that Lori would have needed to stay awake and watchful for any intruders while she slept. She just adored staying warm and loved in her partner’s arms.

In the morning, she stirred slightly when a slice of the sun’s rays came through at just the right angle to make her eyelids glow. Ellie winced and opened her eyes, burying her face in Lori’s neck and moaning quietly in frustration for already being awake.

Lorelei had drifted off after watching Ellie for some time, never once letting go of their embrace. Though feeling her dear princess move against her in such a way, she pulled Ellie even closer. “Morning, my love.” she whispered, still not quite awake yet herself.

"No it's not," came the muffled reply.

Lori chuckled and nuzzled sweetly against Ellie. “Alright.” she said, sounding pretty sleepy still.

Ellie moaned and curled into Lori, even though it wasn’t physically possible for the women to get any closer together. “We don’t have to get up, do we?” she asked.

Lori hummed softly. “Not yet, darling.” she admitted as she started to wake up. “But eventually, yes. Probably soon. Being Captain has a lot of responsibilities.” she sighed.

“Good,” Ellie mumbled. “I want to keep you to myself a while longer.” She looked up at Lori with a slightly blurred gaze and pressed a soft kiss to her jaw.

Lori chuckled at the sweet words and little kiss. “This is nice.” she whispered, turning to kiss Ellie’s forehead.

“Mhmm,” Ellie hummed in response. “How did you sleep, my darling?”

While she wished that they could stay like this forever, she understood the responsibility Lorelei had, and she would do whatever her lover asked of her. She wanted to help.

“I always sleep very well when I have you in my arms.” she admitted. “How did you sleep, Ellie?”

Ellie grinned and kissed Lori’s cheek softly. “As if sedated,” she cooed innocently, nuzzling her nose against the spot she’d just kissed.

“Well, that will never happen.” she said casually with a chuckle though the promise was sincere. “Did you have any rum with dinner last night? If you're not used to it, it can put you to sleep hard.”

Ellie laughed quietly. “It’s an expression, my dearest,” she replied. “I might have, I don’t know. I was more focused on the conversation than what was in my cup.”

“I know it is.” Lori nodded, kissing Ellie’s forehead. “But it's also something that could happen in this kind of life.” she admitted with a soft sigh. “We can ask Charlie then, if you want. See if she served you any.”

Ellie frowned slightly. “Have you ever been…” The words died on her tongue as she found herself not wanting to know. “Alright. But only when we get up. And I still want to keep you.”

“No.” Lori smiled softly, answering the unfinished question. “I just know that it could. But it hasn't.” she assured as she rolled Ellie on top of her, keeping her arms around the other woman. “I’m yours, love. For now and always.” she smirked happily.
