The man sighed. "You see, I'm not a mortal. I'm also someone like you, a mere piece for the gods to use as communication."
The man sighed. "You see, I'm not a mortal. I'm also someone like you, a mere piece for the gods to use as communication."
The Mouthpiece narrowed his eyes. "I am sorry, but I do not quite believe you." he replied. "If that is true, then you have no need of me. None at all."
The man looked annoyed, muttering a few curses under his breath. "I have something private to tell you, and I feel like Sam's woken up." He glanced at Sam, making Sam hold his breath and hope the man wouldn't do anything to him.
The Mouthpiece lifted his chin a little bit, glancing at the king for a moment. "I do not believe he has." And even if he has, it doesn't matter.
"Still, I need to talk to you outside." The man was looked pissed at this point, considering he had come here for the king, not the stupid mouthpiece.
He sighed softly. "Fine. Come with me, then." He headed for the door, ignoring the man's expression. Maybe he shouldn't have, but he was, in any case.
Finally! The man thought as they both left the room, a smile appearing on his face considering it was actually starting to head in the right direction. After they were outside the room, he straightened up his clothes. "Where are you going to take me?"
He thought for a moment, then lead the man to an alcove, standing inside of it. "This should grant suffient privacy for whatever it is you wish to say to me."
(bump?)
The man looked around the hall, making sure no body was there. After a few moments, he turned around and sprinted towards the king's room. His plan had been to lock the Mouthpiece out of the King's room and finish the king. Almost there.
(Sorry about that! School had gotten cancelled because of the virus and everything is confusing!)
The Mouthpiece's eyes went wide as some part of him screamed of the man's plan, and he shouted as he felt his body propelled forward impossibly fast, the gods reaching through him, manipulating his body to make him reach the doors in time.
(It's fine! Oof that sucks)
(bump?)
The man kept running, running into the room and using the door to swing himself around while closing it at the same time. He made sure no one had gotten in before locking it and looking at Sam, who was wide awake now.
Sam had been waiting for the man, crossing his arms and smirking at him. "Welcome back, how did it feel running around the castle?"
The Mouthpiece did not reach the doors in time, and dug his heels in to keep from slamming into them from momentum. He breathed out a curse under his breath, and hoped Sam would be alright.
Sam chuckled a bit when the man looked confused, looking at him and wondering how he was awake. "If you want to kill me, go ahead, I don't really like this position and you might have a chance at it."
The Mouthpiece waited outside, to see what would happen. He knew better than to interfere, but he was still worried for the King's health and safety.
"We all know you're lying," The man replied, walking over to Sam and discreetly grabbing a dagger from the desk. "You really like this position, don't you? Telling everyone what to do and making them suffer while you're treated like a god."
Sam laughed, using his hand to cover his laugh. "Well, you clearly don't know me. You're describing my father, and it hasn't even been a year since I've been crowned."
The Mouthpiece couldn't hear much except the low hum of conversation, and he paced a little bit, waiting to see what would happen. The gods would not interfere yet, not unless it became necessary.
"Just leave, or I'll skin you alive with that dagger of mine," Sam threatened, glancing at the dagger in the man's hand.
The man rolled his eyes. "As if you're that strong."
"You clearly don't know anything about me, do you?"
The Mouthpiece shifted a little bit, looking at the door through narrowed eyes. Conceivably, he might be able to get it open on his own, if he tried hard enough.
The man walked closer to Sam and stabbed him while smiling, or tried to.
You see, Sam is quick, and he had caught his hand, twisting it and not letting go until he heard cracks from the man's hand. "Get out, or I'll break your whole body." He mumbled, watching the man leave.
The Mouthpiece waited anxiously, watching as the door opened and the man stepped out. He frowned a little bit, hoping that the king was alright.
Sam quickly put his dagger away, hoping no one had seen anything. He quickly straightened his hair and glanced around the room, his eyes landing on the Mouthpiece. "Did you see anything?"
The Mouthpiece blinked, then shook his head. "I was outside." he replied slowly. "So I did not see much." he looked at the king carefully.
"Good." Sam straightened up his clothes and looked around, trying to see if anyone else had seen anything.
