“Well, he’s considering.” Dorian muttered to himself. “Fine, if you’re considering, then consider.” he told Nemo, feeling this close to turning around and joining the Phantom instead. It’s not like his little arrangement would be much changed in that case, and maybe he’d be closer to getting back his stolen portrait.
(I can’t wait to introduce Luci’s library lmao.)
(oooh yes!)
Nemo crossed their arms, glaring down at Dorian. He really, really didn't like this man. They really didn't want to let him aboard. But. M had chosen him for a reason. But. He had shown himself to be a dick and a racist. So, typical white Englishman, really.
Dorian tapped his foot, shifting to the other hip. “Are you quite done?” he asked, looking up. “Really, men like you are so stubborn.” he said, referring to his assumptions that Nemo was far from a ladies man, as well as he was a sailor, among other things Dorian instinctively felt the need to push back against. If only this Nemo was a proper gentleman, Dorian thought. Like that Sanger fellow, quiet or loud you could take your pick but he was certainly much more willing towards Dorian’s personality. Which, could make Mr Rainsford a good ally, not like Mina had been, but still, someone he could use.
(Dorian makes me want to strangle him, congrats lmao)
Nemo scoffed. "And just what do you mean by that?" the older man asked, arching his eyebrows down at Dorian. They had been about to, perhaps, let him aboard, but then this. "You have no right to speak to me in that way, not when you are the one needing a favor from me."
(Literally I just. Based him off of all the shitty cis men I’ve dated.)
Dorian shrugged. “If you want to drag this out longer, be my guest.” he said. Sanger chimed in, yet again. “With all due respect Captain, Dorian is right about one thing. We don’t have much time, and this argument has been going on for ages. If it helps, I’ll deal with Dorian, he can be under my watch.”
(Cuz like, Dorian’s mentality is that people are basically pawns to further his own goals. He’ll only really get close to you or be nice to you if he feels you’ll be useful enough to keep around.)
(And since his main goals in life are a hedonism and b being a bastard it makes things difficult.)
(oof)
Nemo's eyes flashed over to Sanger. "Fine." his gaze moved back to Dorian. "If you make trouble on my ship, I will throw you overboard and let the sharks feed on you." they turned away again, speaking to the crew.
Dorian nodded to Sanger. This caused the man in question to shy away, not wanting to meet Dorian’s gaze. He didn’t trust men like Zaroff or Dorian, but unfortunately he’d signed up to babysit one of them. The crew opened up the entrance to the ship after a few minutes, and the group entered.
(Should I,,, say smth,,,,)
(Honestly half of my replies here have been random thought vomits so go ahead lol.)
(I just,,,, it feels like a bad time. But I haven’t said anything in a while)
(I mean Mina could pull Sanger aside and b like “okay buddy listen up Dorian pulls all kinds of fuckery and if you need someone I’m here okay?” kinda vibe idk?)
(I like that, I’ll see what I can do)
(Only if you want to use that idea though!)
(Lol um. Yeah I don’t have any other ideas so. Probably should’ve thought of that tho)
(I mean if it works it works lol)
(Why do I feel so inadequate all of a sudden,,,)
After a while, Mina had gotten bored of the conversation, but Sanger’s voice caught her attention. Her mouth pulled into a frown.
As they boarded the ship, she put a hand on Sanger’s shoulder. “Come with me,” she said, and guided him somewhere out of the way.
(Queen. You are not inadequate. Your words? Impeccable. Your style? Fantastic. Your characters? Immaculate.)
Sanger was startled by this, but complied. If she really was a vampire, he’d rather not get viciously murdered and anyways, she might have something worthwhile to say. “Alright, is there something you needed?” he asked, as he followed her into a secluded part of the ship, hopefully not to get murdered.
(Furthering that you are literally just like phenomenal as a person and put up with so many of my writing bad habits.)
(ditto, Tired! Your characters and everything are always immaculate (and you put up with my slightly sketchy reply lengths so definite kudos for that))
Sherlock and Tom both made their way onto the ship, Tom keeping a suspicious eye on Dorian. He didn't like the man, who certainly had not made a good impression upon any of them.
(crying laughing hahah thanks guys that’s real sweet of you to say, sorry I’m just being irrational)
Once she made sure Dorian was somewhere else, out of earshot, she looked back at Sanger. Then she blinked. “I’m not going to kill you, Sanger, goodness. Don’t look so frightened. Now, are you sure you want to keep an eye on Dorian? I would implore you not to take it lightly. He is far older and… somewhat smarter than he looks.”
Sanger nodded. "I think someone should, and I've already agreed to. I promise, I wouldn't let him do anything to me." he said, smiling a bit weakly. Sanger was older, but dumber, than he looked as well. He came off as a man of great character, his father was a rich landowner and his mother was lucky to be with him. They hadn't loved each other, but they had loved Sanger and that was what mattered to him in the end.
Mina sighed. “Alright then. Well, I doubt you could do it by yourself. If you need help, I will most certainly be available.”
She figured that since there was a possibility Dorian will not listen to her anymore, she would just drag him away from whatever he’d be doing with her own bare hands.
Sanger nodded, and left to go find Dorian, who was probably already in some sort of trouble no doubt. Dorian meanwhile was attempting to flirt with a most certainly disinterested crewmember, which Sanger dragged him away from hastily so that he and Dorian both wouldn't get kicked off the ship. "Oh, you're boring." Dorian complained to Sanger. "Boring maybe, but sane. Why do you feel the need to cause so many problems for people?"
"Problems?" Dorian gave an affronted gasp. "Sailors like when pretty boys make passes at them." he chuckled. Sanger shook his head. "That one certainly didn't look like it. Can you just… find someplace not as populated with people to cause trouble in?"
