(Lmao, I do that quite constantly!)
(Okay, thank you. Hopefully I can help get the party rolling quicker.)
Name: Sanguis (Blood)
Aliases/Nicknames, if any: The Blood Baron
Race: Eldritch Horror
Age: Alive since the multiverse exised.
Gender: It/it
Description: Sanguis is a 12'6" humanoid with pale red skin and black eyes that constantly weep a black fluid. It wears no clothes. It has 3" long talons and its skin is slightly scaly. Its fingers are grotesquely enlongated. It's assumed that its facial skin is all gone, because even though it wears a mask, the skin at the edges of the mask appears burnt and torn. The mask is fitted to move with its jaw, and the thing can open its jaw to over 5 feet, and has fangs that average at about 5 inches. It has three long, sinuous toungues that it can use to move it much faster across land and through water that its two legs. They can also be used as ropes or additional hands.
Personality: It has no empathy, remorse or sympathy. It simply devours whatever lies in its path, whether it be man or god. All things fear it, and none cross its path and live. It hunts down and devours any who see it without its mask, which it rarely takes off, if ever.
Backstory: This thing was born at the beggining of the muliverses, and exists only to destroy, hunt and consume.
Notable Powers/Skills: It speaks using a series of growls, snarls and other such noises. It can smell blood through skin and can hear a heartbeat from more than a mile away. It has been known to devour entire armies that have gotten in its way. More than half of the people that run into this mindless beast cannot even see it, and don't know to run. Nobody can predict where the beast will show up next, only that it must show up.
Other: I don't know what else there is to say about it. It's literally just an uncontrollable beast of death, pain, rage and an all-consuming, never-ceasing hunger for flesh and blood.
(Ooh, nice)
(Well, that means this just got a shit ton darker, so yeah. Evil cackle)
Tiamat chirped, then seemed to freeze as Shade grabbed its core. The clouds above grew eerily still and quiet.
Very well.
Geneviera watched cautiously, then turned to fly to the mountains before either could order her to.
Boromaxus plummeted, falling a great height to eventually be impaled on one of the castle’s towers. He gave a short, pained yelp. His body slid to the edge of the castle, and his weight snapped the tower. He crashed to the ground, his breath shaking before stopping completely.
“Yeah. Mister High-and-Mighty the Jackass,”On’nyosh snorted.
He jumped when a loud crash echoed through the castle, then froze when a familiar red body slammed to the ground in front of the windows Lucitius stood at.
“No,”he gasped, barely audible.
On’nyosh scrambled to his feet, bolting to the window. He then gasped in horror as he stared at the lifeless body of one of his oldest friends.
“No. No. No,”he moaned, his knees crumbling, tears welling in his eyes.
Radiant is an ally of mine. She has helped me through much, and I am loathe to forsake an ally when they call upon me, Lucitius answered Vē'Êtherñøth.
He noticed the clouds go still, sensing something immensely wrong. When Boromaxus fell, he sighed mournfully. Though, he immediately tensed when he heard Shade.
“And when we weep blood,”Lucitius breathed, his blue eyes flashing with a strange purple light, blue strings of electricity crawling along his body.
Lucitius straightened from the window, moaning intensely and raising a clawed hand, twisting it. The clouds above turned a deep indigo, blue lightning flashing in their depths. A throaty growl echoed from Lucitius’ throat, his intense eyes watching the blood on Boromaxus’ body pool.
“And when we weep blood!”Lucitius screamed, twisting his hand again.
Deafening thunder echoed from the sky and jagged blue lightning bolts struck at the air and anything in it, faster and faster, imitating the crazed rage of their master.
Sanguis watched all of this unfold from afar, its weeping eyes focused on Tiamat. But when the Shade creature entered and sent the blast of pain into the world, a single, high shriek erupted from the creature before it shielded its mind. It let out a warbling, clicking snarl and launched itself from the Alyiin Mountains towards Shade, knowing nothing can stop it from reaching its prey.
Shade, having heard this shriek, thought nothing of it. He watched Boromaxus plummet and laughed, glad that there was one less of them to deal with later.
"Good riddance." he mutters, turning back to Tiamat.
He smiles. "Good."
He then turned to Geneviera, but something from the mountains caught his eye.
"What the- oh, that thing." he sighs, the simply waves a hand, creating another Shade and sending it off elsewhere.
"There we go!" he says delightedly as the sky starts to flash with Lucitius's lightning.
He threw a shield around Geneviera, his mind immediately going to If she dies by his hand, I can't have the pleasure of killing her myself!
When Lucitius's words finally reached him through the chaos, he laughed, loudly.
"YES, OLD FRIEND!" he screams back, laughing and angling himself towards the castle, the agonizing waves of pain that had been being sent out finally ceasing. All except for the ones targeting Lucitius. Shade merely focused all of the pain onto him, and watched, quickly reaching the castle, vaporizing the wall in front of him.
Radiant hears this and tenses herself, knowing what this must mean.
"Lucitius-" is all she manages to get out before the sky starts flashing with electricity.
"Fuck-" she mutters, then watches in horror as the red creature of nightmares launches itself from the mountains towards Shade.
"That thing should not even be here. I killed it." she says, then stares as the wall crumbles apart.
Cass and Vē'Êtherñøth watch all of this, then grab On'nyosh and simply move through the boundaries of the world, moving to the Plane of Shadows, where they could watch and not be watched.
"Well… that place is fucked." Vē'Êtherñøth says.
"Yes, it is. The Blood Baron has awoken again, Shade has returned and Lucitius is pissed." Cass replies, watching all of this happen. "But, it's all fine, I guess. We're not going to get hurt."
Ëvêāhn slowly gets up, the pain a lingering memory.
"What… the… fuck…" he mutters, clutching his head. He then notices the electricity, sees the corpse of Boromaxus, and immediately realizes what must have happened.
"SHADE!" he screams, his form starting to grow and glow, the air turning misty and charged with Living Light.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" he shouts into the storm, launching himself towards the throne room, intending to kill Shade himself.
Shade hears Ëvêāhn, and laughs.
"I'M HERE, MY OLD FRIEND! YOU WISH TO DIE WITH LUCITIUS? SO BE IT!" he screams back, the pain doubling on Lucitius, and also refocusing to include Ëvêāhn as well.
Shade grabs them both, and summons the Blood Baron, whom he realizes was the thing that had come from the mountains.
"Baron, Baron, Baron…" he mutters, chuckling. "You've not changed, I see."
Sanguis immediately changes its focus to this new Shade. A low, rumbling growl comes from its throat as it reaches the new Shade, and proceeds to devour it, clothes and all, then going back to where the first Shade was and onlyfinding Tiamat. It grunts disinterestedly, turning to the castle, where it senses Lucitius's anger. It proceeds to look up, unaffected by the electricity striking it, its skin healing faster than the lightning can damage it.
It lets out a hungry shriek, having spotted Boromaxus's body on the ground, and immediately goes to it, devouring it almost immediately, still ravenous. It lets out a mournful chitter, then quickly realizes there will be more later.
When Shade warps it to their side, it stumbles a bit, then shakes its head, letting out a confused click, then climbing up the wall and onto the ceiling, where it could watch.
Shade watches Sanguis devour Boromaxus's body and his diversion, and shivers a little.
"That will always be horrifying, even for me…" he mutters. He turns back to the two pain filled deities, watching them writhe. He laughs, then starts stripping away Lucitius's Living Diamond, knowing that the only true way to kill Lucitius is to strip him of that substance.
"Let's have some fun now, Lucitius…" he says, a malicious gleam in his eyes.
Ëvêāhn struggles then screams, the pain too much. He was unable to block out any pain, and could not fall unconscious. He could only scream.
As Shade strips Lucitius of his Diamond, he graons, but can't break free of the bonds holding him, or the pain.
Cass and Vē'Êtherñøth continue watching and commenting, their decision to avoid the situation further reinforced when the Blood Baron gets summoned.
"Ëvêāhn is fucked. The world is dead…" Cass says, sighing and sitting down.
"Yeah, but this world isn't." Vē'Êtherñøth replies.
Radiant watches as Vē'Êtherñøth, Cass and On'nyosh disappear, muttering "Cowards…"
She watches as Shade entraps Lucitius and Ëvêāhn, knowing she can't do anything to help.
Please… my lords and ladies… help me… she prays, knowing that they won't intervene.
(Shit! I’m falling behind! Give me a sec!)
(Okay, sorry!)
(Okay, I'll wait to start ripping people apart alive.)
(You guys are good. Lol. I just didn’t want to be left out of the slaughter, lmao!)
(And don’t mind the walking bomb that is Lucitius, lol)
Tiamat hovered in air, watching Shade warily, uncertain whether to flee or attempt reclaiming its storm. However, one look at Lucitius, and Tiamat realized that they were outmatched.
With a sigh, it turned and noted that Geneviera continued her course to the mountains, likely wanting no part in Shade’s ire. Tiamat snorted, then saw Sanguis. It watched the creature for a moment, then settled down on one of the castle towers, watching and calculating.
On’nyosh barely registered being grabbed, or being transported to another realm. Tears streamed from his eyes, steadily increasing. The image of Boromaxus’ corpse haunted him.
He barely heard the words of his two companions, not understanding where they were or what he was seeing. But, after a few minutes, he crumpled against one of his companions, he had no idea which, and cried.
As he wept, he was oblivious to how his tears created streams of alcohol wherever they hit the ground. Nor did he notice the playing cards, that seemed to appear out of nowhere, buzzing around him like concerned pets.
Lucitius coiled and hissed in pain, managing to summon his staff before he fell over. He glared viciously at Shade, effectively immobilized by the agony. He wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of a sound.
However, as Shade starts stripping his Living Diamond, Lucitius started to shriek, coiling and crying out in his birth tongue, denying what was happening. Then a door opened in his mind, a subconscious path to block the pain. He didn’t hesitate, but he lost all sense of himself the moment he stepped through.
“Pain is pleasure, and pleasure is pain! Madness sings, and sanity wanes!”he abruptly started singing, laughing.
Blue blood streamed from his eyes, nose, and mouth, from his cracked hair, to his torn scales. He noticed none of it though as the strings of electricity grew thicker and thicker, lifting off of him, spinning away.
Within moments, the electrical strands formed a massive orb around Lucitius, a loud whirring growing louder and louder. His eyes grew white and he collapsed to his knees, laughing hysterically as he sang over and over again.
A large crack appeared in Lucitius’ body, running vertically down his center. Blue fire coiled within the crack as he screamed in a mixture of pure agony and ecstasy.
(Holy- what the fuck? That's what happens- okay, I want to know if anyone has ever managed to kill Lucitius. Or do anything of this magnitude to him.)
Shade cackles, watching all of this happen to Lucitius.
"Oh, yes, I've waited for this for a while, Lucitius. Do you have any idea how painful it is to be thrown into nonexistance? You'll soon find out." he snarls, a feral look in his eyes. He finishes stripping Lucitius of his Diamond, then kicks him away in contempt, walking over to Ëvêāhn.
"Now, what can I strip from you? Maybe… your Light? Or maybe your Mist…" slowly, almost gently, he reaches out and grabs a strand of each. He studies them for a moment, then drops the Mist and starts ripping the the Light from Ëvêāhn's form.
Ëvêāhn lets out a high, warbling shriek as his Light was taken, his form shuddering and cracking, revealing a greyish-white bone substance beaneath his skin. The scream turns into a laugh, and finally silence.
"Oh, the pains of life and the pains of death and the pains of chaos and the pains of order…" he says, his form swaying.
"How does that feel, Ëvêāhn? How does it feel to be stripped of your powers?" he grins, releasing Ëvêāhn and watching him fall.
"I feeeeelllll… dark…" Ëvêāhn mutters, almost like he's drunk.
"Good! That's good!" Shade says, prowling around the two prone deities.
Cass and Vē'Êtherñøth watch this in horror.
"What…" Vē'Êtherñøth breathes, stunned.
"WAIT! On'nyosh, what's wrong? What happened?" Cass asks, concerned and scared.
Radiant watches Shade tear the Diamond off of Lucitius and the Light out of Ëvêāhn.
What are we dealing with? she wonders, horrified.
Sanguis chitters hungrily, eyeing the prone form of Lucitius.
A high, clicking warble of sound emits from its throat, and it drops down from the ceiling, directly over top of the form of Lucitius. It proceeds to start nibbling on Lucitius, never having eaten one such as him. Finding his hide to be too tough, it starts ripping Lucitius's skin off, paying no attention to the blood that splatters him. It merely licks it off and continues. When Lucitius's soft muscle and flesh is exposed, it starts devouring Lucitius, leaving no trace of the formerly invincible god.
Shade doesn't even bother to stop Sanguis from eating Lucitius, but just in case, he hides Ëvêāhn from it, knowing that the next target would be him.
"Now, now, Baron. Wouldn't want to ruin your appetite, would you?" he asks snidely, patting Sanguis on his bony back and laughing.
Ëvêāhn is hardly even aware of any of this, including the ripping and sucking noises Sanguis was making. He was trapped in his own mind, unaware of the most basic details. When Shade moved him, he groaned, then passed out.
Radiant watches in absolute petrified terror, not even aware of Shade's words, her attention focused where Lucitius just was. Slowly, her terror turns to shock, then anger, then a numbing, blinding rage. Her form starts to glow, getting brighter and brighter. A high, pure note starts to emit from the center of a rapidly forming maelstorm of light and energy. A single beam of light flys into the air, piercing the veil of matter between the worlds, hitting the Plane of Shadows in the process.
The beam slowly spreads between all the realms, slowly destroying everything.
Cass and Vē'Êtherñøth both look at each other when Radiant goes supernova, the simply warp back to Ethrin, grabbing On'nyosh.
"We need to stop her." Vē'Êtherñøth says, knowing full well the true power of an arcangel like Radiant.
"How? I couldn't even get close, being a vampire. And despite being a Daylighter." Cass replies, shaking her head. "And you'd literally cease to exist entirely if you tried to enter that storm."
"Yes, I know…" Vē'Êtherñøth sighs, her shoulders slumping. "What do you suggest we do, then?"
"I don't know, Vē'Êtherñøth. I don't know…" Cass murmurs, watching as the collumn of light grows.
(Shit. Fell behind again. Damn, this is so good)
Sanguis watches Shade move Ëvêāhn, then does its own version of a sigh.
It then gives off a shriek of pain as the light and energy manifest themselves, and curls up. It slips into the Void realms to avoid the light.
(Yes, it is. I would very much like to see where exactly this goes.)
(Yeah, sorry… I'm apparantly harder to keep up with than I thought, lmao!)
(Nah, you’re good. I’m almost done)
(Okay, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in response.)
(Yes, there are creatures that can and have killed Lucitius, in a few different ways. But, I will say this, stripping him of the Living Diamond will not kill him, it will separate the two beings that made him. However, his reaction to the split will kill him. And when Lucitius dies, he typically goes out with a bang)
(And honestly I was trying to keep Lucitius as a spectator. He takes over stories so easily, but apparently not so much with this one, lol)
Lucitius freezes when all of the Living Diamond is taken from him. The crack in his body widens, one half of his body changing drastically in appearance.
What was blue glass becomes black hair. An intense white eye becomes a light blue dulled by trauma. His horn bends and twists, cracking with age. His claws shorten to small talons. His blue silk robe becomes black cloth. His light blue scales, the hue that had been hidden by the cerulean Diamond, age and dull, scars coating his arms. A prominent scar appears, on both halves, that of four clawmarks on his neck.
“Forgive me.”
The words come out in a barely audible whimper. He wasn’t aware of being eaten, but he knew he was growing lesser and lesser. He closed his eyes, freeing his command on everything around him. His maddened mind dreamed of his wife until death took him.
The flames coiled in the crack of his body burst upward, before vanishing in the maw of Sanguis. The electricity above swirled toward Radiant, destroying everything in its path, then coiling around her like lonely pets, awaiting her command.
The storm disintegrated above, the sun shining down on the chaos below. But, not for long as a smoky black orb formed around the city, with no apparent source, holding back Radiant’s light.
“He’s dead. Boromaxus is fucking dead,” On’nyosh whimpered, his arms coiling around Cass as he continued to cry.
Radiant’s light caught his attention and On’nyosh turned, stricken by the sight.
Tiamat teleported away, knowing well to avoid Radiant’s light. It looked back to the south, at the black orb, at the clear sky.
It chirped, understanding that it would be some time before it could gather enough power to make the storm again. It flew deeper inside its cave to rest and heal.
Geneviera watched in astonishment as a giant black orb appeared behind her. She was very grateful she had decided to fly away. She then noticed something.
Emotions. She could feel again. Everything, her entire sense of emotional identity had returned. She giggled, then turned south, deciding to abandon Tiamat and return to her Star.
(For reference, here's Radiant's new Lux form. https://s3.amazonaws.com/notebook-content-uploads/content/uploads/original/46a581ba-9cb2-4848-b12d-9dc4e736f591.jpeg?1637896167)
Shade laughs as Lucitius splits.
"So long, Lucitius! May we meet in Hell!" he crows, happy.
He notices the fact that Sanguis disappeared, and isn't even bothered by the light of Radiant. He grabs a strand of it, curious, and realizes it's alive with Lucitius's lightning now.
"Oh, fu-" is all he manages to get out before Radiant's light starts eating away at his form.
"You… you have made a mistake, Nightmare. A grave, grave mistake." Radiant says, except it's an amalgamation of thousands of voices: the voices of the other angels and arcangels. They've willingly sacrificed their forms for her.
"I've waited so long to kill you, Nightmare. You have no idea how much pain you've caused." the angel says, no longer Radiant, but something more. An Avatar of Light. Lux.
She takes control of the Living Diamond, and vows, silently, to never use her power for wrong. And Shade slowly is removed from the world, not even a piece of his soul left in the weaving of everything.
Cass watches this in terror, realizing now just how powerful Radiant, or whatever her name is now, was.
Meanwhile, Vē'Êtherñøth slowly backs away, horrified. She personally knows some of these angelic spirits. And has ended most of them.
"No… no… no…" she mutters, turning and running.
"Wait! Where are you-" Cass says, but stops short, already seeing no signs of Vē'Êtherñøth.
"DAMN!" she screams.
Ëvêāhn slowly uncurls, his Light restored. He knows he'll never get over that experience. The Light had a mind of its own. It was alive. Slowly, the Light uncurls itself from him. It prods him, then seems to smile. Ëvêāhn smiles, then warps to the throne room, stopping in his tracks upon seeing… Radiant? It couldn't be. She didn't look the same. For one, she had four less wings. He stares at her, then blinks.
"R-Radiant? Is that you?" he asks, stunned.
"Yes. Ëvêāhn. I'm not 'Radiant', however. We are Lux." she replies, the words echoing as the she were speaking from a well.
"We? What do you… oh. I see." he says, stunned.
(Oh, fuck. That turned, like, OP quickly. Give me a second to kill some peeps.)
(Okay, you're good. I'd honestly like to see Sanguis try and kill Lux.)
