"Sounds like a plan." Said Milo before giving Hunter a little kiss on his arm. He was leaning against him, not buckled in which, of course, wasn't the best idea, but his house wasn't too far away. Milo was oblivious to the fact that the next football game was the homecoming game, nonetheless that there was a dance. He had never been asked to it and he had never paid attention to the announcements about it.
Hunter grinned, already trying to think up of a plan to ask Milo out. The car ride felt too short when Milo’s apartment complex came into view. “Want me to walk you up this time?” Hunter offered as he pulled into a parking spot.
"That sounds great, the more time we spend together the better." Milo sat up, a yawn escaping his mouth. His eyes were heavy again. Car rides always put him asleep even if he was wide awake before.
Hunter chuckled in agreement, putting the car in park and getting out. Milo looked so darn cute when he was sleepy like that… Hunter smile grew and he offered his arm to help Milo out too and to escort him inside.
Milo smiled sleepily and took Hunter's arm, sliding out of his car. He slowly got out and started walking with Hunter to his apartment door. He was dragging his feet slightly and he was relying a lot on Hunter to help him.
Hunter grinned as he grabbed Milo around the waist as they walked to the complex. He couldn’t stop himself as he leaned towards Milo and planted a kiss on his soulmate’s temple. “Gosh you’re so darn cute when you’re sleepy.”
Milo looked up at Hunter with a smile as they got to his apartment door. He stepped to the side only to move in front of Hunter to give him a hug, his head on his chest. "I had fun today, thank you so much…" He stood there for a bit not wanting to leave the warmth of Hunter's arms.
“Your welcome,” Hunter chuckled, not letting go of Milo as he held him to his chest. “I can’t wait to see you again tomorrow.” Hunter smiled, running a hand through Milo’s adorable hair.
"Yeah, me too~" Milo closed his eyes, but quickly opened them. "I should probably go inside, I'll fall asleep right here if I don't." He said with a smile, looking up at Hunter.
"Yeah," Hunter let out a laugh, kissing Milo on the forehead one more time before smiling, "I'll see you tomorrow!" He then turned -despite how much he wanted to stay with Milo, he knew he needed to get home- and left.
Milo turned around and unlocked his door, going inside right after. He dragged his feet right to his room and collapsed onto his bed. A smiled was on his face as he was falling asleep and it stayed there almost all night.
Hunter drove home with that warm feeling in his chest. He couldn't stop the smile on his face, even when he got back home and was opening up the door. His foster mother grinned at him when he walked in–Carl must have told her. "How was your day? I heard you were home," Wendy asked, though she didn't seem mad at all. She seemed more bubbly about the soulmate thing.
"It was good, Milo got hurt and I wanted him to relax somewhere comfortable," Hunter explained as he went to his room. He heard Carl say something about the principal calling, but he was too tired to care when he flopped onto his bed and sleep took over.
Once the next morning arrived, Milo awoke after his alarm went off 3 times. After 5 times his sister would have come in to wake him up, and that was never fun for either of them. Milo slowly sat up, wincing in pain. His chest and stomach were hurting again. He slowly made his way out of his bed, still wearing the shirt Hunter gave him. He wanted to keep it on, so he would. He changed into brown jeans then sat back down on his bed.
(So it's probably Saturday for them, right? And it would be Milo's tournament then dinner? Just wanting to clarify.)
(Yeah its Satursay, and sounds good)
Hunter awoke lazily, staring up at the ceiling and smiling. He still had the faint smell of Milo vividly in his memory. He couldn't wait to meet him at the tournament, and he was hoping the plan he had formed overnight would work. And he hoped the dinner would work too, and that Wendy nor Carl would embarrass him.
Hunter slowly stood and pulled on some sweats and a simple white shirt, throwing the clothes he had slept in into his dirty laundry pile. He made a mental not to throw that in the wash today so he could give Milo his shirt back.
Milo pulled out his phone to text Hunter.
Hey~ Goodmorning
I have to be at the tournament by 9:30 so we can get set up. Could you pick me up at 9:20?
He smiled and leaned back on the bed, wincing once again. He needed to be more careful.
Hunter smiled when his phone went off and saw Milo’s text.
Of course love, I cant wait to see you
Hunter walked out of his room, still smiling at his phone when he popped a waffle in the microwave. Too distracted by Milo’s texts, Hunter didn’t even notice Hannah was also in the kitchen.
See you then. Love you~ <3
Now he just had to wait. It was 8:00 so Milo might as well have breakfast before he had to go. Carefully this time, he sat up and wandered to the kitchen to find some food. His smile grew as he saw his mother in the kitchen. He rand over to her and wrapped his arms around her. She had been on a business trip and they weren't planning on being back until the coming Monday, but she was home early. "Mom!! Why are you back so soon?" He kissed her cheek as she started talking.
"Well, I guess my boss didn't have a need for us to stay longer, so I was one of the few people that did actually come back home. How was your week, Milo?" He let go of his mother and sat at one of the stools.
"Well, pretty normal, except for the fact that I found my fricken soulmate!! I'm going to dinner with his family tonight." His mother jumped a little, a huge smile on her face.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so happy for you, Milo!!" She was so glad he found something good in his life, she knew he had a hard time at school, but she didn't know exactly what it was.
Luv u <3
Hunter responded with another smile at his phone. Today was going to be good, it just had to be.
“Whatcha smiling about?” A voice interrupted Hunter from his thoughts as he whipped his head around to see his older sister smiling at him with a hint of mischief in her eyes.
“Nothing, f-ck off,” Hunter said with a frown, grabbing waffle from the toaster. Most times, Hunter and Hannah got along, but the morning usually weren’t those times.
“Have you asked him to the dance yet?” Hannah asked, wiggling her eyebrows as she took a bite of an apple.
“I’m going to ask him today,” Hunter told her shortly, stuffing the waffle in his mouth, but unable to stop himself from double checking his phone for anymore texts.
“Oh really?” Hannah chuckled, but her face changed to something more serious as she adding, “You’re really lucky, ya know. To find him. I’m glad you have him.”
Hunter smiled a little at that, opening up a little as he said, “Yeah, I’m glad I have him too.” 9:20 couldn’t come fast enough.
Milo smiled at his mother as she handed him a plate with eggs and bacon on it. He thought his mother's eggs were the best ever. He'd only ever had her's and restaurant eggs though, so he didn't really know anything else. Upon finishing his breakfast, he checked the time, seeing it was 9:15, it was just enough time to get the last of his stuff ready.
Hunter finished his breakfast quickly and had gotten ready for the tournament. At 9:18 he pulled into the apartment complex’s parking lot to wait for Milo. He was excited. Milo meant the world to him, and Hunter was happy to go support him at his tournament.
Milo heard a car pull up and he grabbed his bag. Giving his mother a kiss on the cheek as he went out the door, a large smile on his face. He went over to Hunter's car and opened the door, immediately sliding close to Hunter. "Hello! Goodmorning."
“Morning love,” Hunter said with a grin, pulling out to the road. “How did you sleep?” He asked with a smile, taking one hand off the wheel so he could reach out and hold Milo’s.
Milo took Hunter's hand with a smile. "I slept very well. What about you?" He looked out the window at the passing cars and landscape. Today was going to be a great day even if they lost the tournament.
“I slept wonderfully,” Hunter told him with a smile. Why couldn’t he wipe that smile off his face? Hunter didn’t want to prematurely give away what he was planning for later that day. “I bet you’re going to do great,” Hunter told him with a grin, the school getting into view as Hunter drove to the student parking lot.
"Thank you! I'm still wearing your shirt… maybe it'll give me some luck." Milo said, shifting his gaze to Hunter. "I hope you don't mind." He said, a small laugh following.
