Raven smiled, not quite noticing the temperature change.
Raven smiled, not quite noticing the temperature change.
Sophie smiled back, still holding Raven’s hand.
Raven shifted a little, sending ripples through the water.
Sophie giggled a little as the ripples brushed against her.
She smiled, glancing over at Sophie.
Sophie smiled back, swaying her legs gently under the water.
She smiled again, looking at the fountain.
Sophie sighed softly, still swaying her feet… Until she noticed little bubbles just floating around in the water.
She raised an eyebrow faintly at the sight of the bubbles.
The bubbles seemed to increase and move a little more as Sophie's ears turned red.
Raven's gaze narrowed very slightly, but she didn't say anything.
Sophie took a deep breath, furrowed her brow slightly and the bubbles slowly stopped moving and disappeared.
Raven stretched just a little bit.
Sophie sighed again, trying to relax. That… hadn't really happened in what felt like a long time.
Raven shifted again, still staying quiet.
Sophie tried not to fidget as she carefully pulled her hand back and lifted her feet out of the fountain.
She glanced over at her.
Sophie drew her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them.
"You alright?" she asked softly.
Sophie glanced over at her and nodded. “I… I guess I’m just a bit more nervous than I thought.” she admitted, blushing.
She nodded. "Alright."
Sophie sighed a little and laid her head on her knees, both relieved and a bit confused that Raven hadn't said anything… Maybe she just hadn't noticed?
Raven had noticed a little, but hadn't thought too much of it. After all, Sophie didn't have any abilities like that…right?
Truthfully… Yes. Yes, she did. She just didn't share that secret with anybody for a couple of reasons. One of them being, Sophie didn't know who she could trust with that knowledge. Powers were rare but not uncommon. There were even very talented and popular performers who had and used their abilities publicly. But she wasn't interested in fame and fortune. Plus, she had heard that those celebrates were closely monitored for “security reasons”.

Raven shifted a little bit. She had abilities, yes, and used them for her hero work. But it was also easier, for her, because she changed her facial features just enough that facial recognition would never be able to pick up that she and Rook were in fact the same person.
