Sophie nodded with a gentle hum as the elevator arrived. “Well, that's ok. All great artists had to start small before moving up to being well-known masters.” she winked.
Sophie nodded with a gentle hum as the elevator arrived. “Well, that's ok. All great artists had to start small before moving up to being well-known masters.” she winked.
She laughed softly. "That's quite true."
“The important thing, though, is that you are doing something that you love.” she smiled back.
"Precisely, and I enjoy it." She hummed a little.
“Good. There are too many people who have jobs they can't stand.”
"That's true as well. What do you do for a living?"
“I work at the library right now.” she said with a shrug. “It’s not a bad job… just a little boring.”
"Mm. Where do you want to work, then?"
“I don't know. I think I would like to teach swimming classes honestly.”
"Really? That sounds like a lot of fun."
“Yeah? Well, I'm glad you like the idea.” she smiled softly. “I… Jade jokes all the time about how much I love being in the water.” she admitted with a soft blush.
"Well, the water can be quite fun to be in, so I don't blame you."
“Thanks.” Sophie smiled softly. “I won't lie, I do enjoy being in the water a lot. If I believed in past lives, I would think I had been a mermaid or water nymph or something.” she chuckled.
She nodded a little, laughing quietly. "I see, I see."
Sophie smiled back. “What about you? What do you do for fun?”
"I like to play video games, or work on designs for future buildings. I enjoy doing it."
“Video games are fun.” she nodded. “But I don't have a chance of beating any of Jade's high scores. I just don't know how she does it.” she added with a shrug.
"Jade is just…very smart." She laughed a little bit. "I don't know either."
“Yeah, and gifted when it comes to computers.” Sophie nodded. “Honestly, if I had her skill, I would sign up to beta test new games.”
"True, that sounds exciting. Maybe she's too busy for that though."
“I don't know how. She's a freelance, so she can set her own hours. Though spending so much time with Killian lately…” she trailed off, wagging her eyebrows in a teasing manner.
She laughed a little. "Oh, do tell me about him, she refused to say anything."
“Oh, really?” she raised a brow. “Well, honestly, I don't know him that well.” she admitted. “But he's tall, kind of a ruggish rouge kind of handsome. Dark hair with white steaks… I don't think they're dyed either. Seems like a nice guy, despite their “rivalry”, and he has the easiest time making her laugh and getting her to relax.”
She nodded a little, eyebrows knitting together faintly at the mention of white streaks. Hex had those, but…it couldn't be the same person. That would be incredibly stupid. Likely just a coincidence; plenty of people went grey or white young. If this Killian was young. "Is he older, or are the streaks just from…stress or something?"
Sophie shrugged. “Not that old. Probably just a few years older than us… If they are from stress, then that poor guy’s been through a lot of stress.” she sighed.
