Kyle shook his head, "Nuh uh, you cannot touch them until they're ready and if you do I'ma be very sad."
(I’m glad you’re surviving lol)
“Mmmmm fine. I don’t want you to be sad. But I would like my hugs back then, sir.” He said, making grabby hands at Kyle.
Kyle rolled his eyes, however there was still a smile on his face. He moved towards Caleb, wrapping his arms around the others middle.
“Thank you, kind sir.” Caleb chuckled softly, resting his head on Kyle’s shoulder and gently closing his eyes.
Kyle closed his eyes himself, letting himself relax against Caleb. He wished that this moment would last forever.
Caleb smiled softly. He wanted nothing more than to hold Kyle in his arms for the rest of eternity. But he knew that eventually he’d have to leave. And maybe he’d have to leave for awhile. Days and months where he wouldn’t be able to see Kyle smile, where he wouldn’t be able to wake up at his side and tell him he loved him. He pushed those thoughts away, trying to focus on right now.
He didn't want this moment to end. He wanted it to drag on forever and ever and ever and be content with that. With being held. All of Kyle's worries were washed away whenever Caleb was there. If he was to leave.. Kyle knew he would be a mess, a very big, anxiety-filled, mess.
Caleb picked his head up, planting some soft kisses from Kyle’s neck up to his cheek. “Do you think the food’s cooled down enough yet?” He hummed out quietly.
Kyle blushed at the kisses and then shrugged, pulling away from the hug to check on the food. He then smiled and nodded, "They're ready for icing."
“Can I just have one now pleeeeeeease.” He begged, making his best puppy dog eyes over at Kyle. “I’ll still help you ice them I just want one now.”
Kyle shook his head, keeping his stance firm. He wouldn't fall for Caleb's puppy dog eyes this time, "Nope. You have to wait. They're not as good without the icing."
He let out a long, dramatic sigh. But realizing Kyle wasn’t going to give in, he gave up. “Fine.” He grumbled, pouting softly.
Kyle smiled sweetly, moving to grab a clean bowl so they could make the icing, "Good. It won't be too long, maybe ten more minutes."
He nodded, perking up a bit at that. “Okay.” He replied, hovering near Kyle. He loved it when his boyfriend was this happy, and just able to relax.
He hummed softly, focused on the bowl beneath his hands. It was nice to just slow down like this, to spend time with Caleb without having to fear anything bad would happen. His thoughts dragged him away and soon enough he was already icing the cakes.
“Woah you move pretty fast with that.” He said in admiration. “Do you need any help? You seem to have it all handled just fine but I figured I should check anyway.”
"Hm?" He was dragged out of his thoughts as Caleb spoke. Kyle shook his head softly as he continued to work, "Oh no, I'm pretty much done now."
He nodded in acknowledgment, gently wrapping his arms around Kyle and resting his head on the other man’s shoulder.
Kyle blushed lightly, leaning back into the others embrace with a soft smile. He finished up on the cakes, looking at them proudly before he picked one up and offered it to Caleb.
Caleb smiled as he took it from him. “They look great, babe.” He said before taking a bite of the one in his hand. “They taste pretty amazing too. Almost as amazing as you do.” He added on teasingly, a wide grin on his face.
His blushed deepened and he elbowed Caleb in the chest gently, "Shut up…" He mumbled, making a start at cleaning up the dirty bowls and utensils.
Caleb chuckled softly. “Sorry darling, couldn’t help it.” He said, moving to help Kyle start cleaning everything up.
Kyle went even more red, if that was possible, and started to wash the bowls in the sink. He hummed softly to himself, trying to ignore the burning in his cheeks.
Caleb would look over at Kyle every few minutes, see the way his face was bright red, and chuckle a little bit to himself. It’d only take them a few more minutes to finish cleaning.
Soon enough all the plates and bowls were washed and dried and put away neatly. Kyle made sure they were. He knew Caleb would never put them away properly.
