"I'm not a child, so you know how long it took me to get my parents to stop calling me kid? Too long. And how old are you, anyway?" She asked, leaning against the wall.
"I'm not a child, so you know how long it took me to get my parents to stop calling me kid? Too long. And how old are you, anyway?" She asked, leaning against the wall.
"Twenty." Kono continued twirling the rose. "Been stuck here alone since I was five."
"Oh. My god. You're a year older than me. Shut up, then you're not allowed to call me a kid," she snapped, then did a double take. "Wait - did you say five?"
"Yes, I said five. That's when my father left. Why?" Kono glanced up at Gemini.
"That's how old I was when my dad died. That sucks. Sorry," she told him softening slightly.
"Don't be sorry. I'm… over it. Besides, he's still alive, I think. He just left." Kono fidgeted with the rose.
Gemini nodded. "Right. Well, anyway. I should - I should go. Leave you alone with your… trove."
"I thought they'd drown you if you went back?" Kono asked, his horns quite small now.
(If you haven't noticed, his horns shrink when he feels sympathetic/empathetic or, more human like)
(Mhm I gechu)
Gemini scoffed. "I'm not going back to my PARENTS. I'm going… I don't know. But you don't like me, so I was just going to leave."
"I never said I didn't like you…" Kono replied, barely audibly.
Gemini turned, furrowing her brow. "But I'm annoying. And I briefly tried to take your treasure. Literally nobody likes me, I thought this was just a given," she told him confusedly.
"You're… interesting. No one ever tries to talk to the dragon, you know? They'd all prefer me with a sword through my heart."
"Yeah, well, the majority of people are dickheads," she replied, crossing her arms. "Also, I can't fight you cause I choose life, so I have nothing else to do."
"Even people who don't choose life can't often fight me. What's your point?" Kono sighed a bit, his horns growing slightly.
"The point is I suck and you don't, so deal with it," she stated plainly.
"I mean, I'm not necessarily denying that, but I don't think you're as terrible a person as you make yourself out to be."
Gemini snorted. "That's stupid. I literally came here with the express purpose of robbing you."
"Yet, you decided not to. That makes you different, does it not?" Kono looked back to the rose.
She shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't come here for a philosophical discussion about whether actions or intentions are more important, but… I don't know. Probably not."
"I mean, you bothered to talk to me at all, which is something. You hardly know anything about me. You don't know my name. My past… Nothing but my age, really."
"Fine," she said decisively, sitting down on the ground with her arms crossed. "I'm Gemini. My friends call me Gem. Or, they would, if I had any friends. And what about you?"
"Rikono. I won't bother telling you that I have friends. We both know I don't." Kono twirled the rose between his fingers.
"So on a scale from one to death, how mad would you be if I called you Riko? Or Kono? I make it an effort to never use people's full names."
"I really couldn't care less at this point." Kono hummed a bit.
"Wonderful. Ok, um… I don't know, what do people ask when they're trying to get to know someone? Wait, you wouldn't know that. You have no life. Ok, um… what's your favorite… color?" She asked hesitantly, cringing at herself.
