Rowan laughed very faintly. "Alright, well, I'm glad that's out of the way." he took Emmett's phone, inputting his number, and then handed it back. He got out his own phone, creating a new contact and then holding it out to Emmett to put his number into.

Emmett put his number in and slid Rowan's phone to him.
He stood up quickly "I have to go, but I'll text you later" he said giving a faux bow and hurrying out the door giving Rowan a small wave as he did.
Rowan took back his phone, shooting Emmett a quick smile. "See you." he replied, taking another sip from his drink.
Emmett burst out into the chilly air, it felt nice against his hot face; soothing and calming.
"Wow" he mumbled to himself as he walked towards the warehouse. On the way he reran the conversation he had had with Rowan through his head, he didn't even realise he'd been doing it until he reached the warehouse door, he slid the door open, then closed it quietly to avoid detection.
He walked into the darkened building, as he got further it got darker until a single light admitted enough light for Emmett to make out his thugs surrounding a man in a dark, expensive looking suit. The man's head hung lowly and Emmett had a faint thought that he looked dead.
He walked up, standing in front of the man, his features were boyish with high cheekbones with auburn tinted hair that was brushed straight back. "Well boys, im finding myself hoping you didn't kill him." Emmett said to his thugs, Blaze stepped forward and shook his head.
"We didn't boss, just gave em' a tiny amount of a date rape drug so he passed out, if we give em' a lil' more he won't remember what's about to happen at all, unless you want em' too." Blaze said and Emmett nodded, he turned to the other thug on his left, whose name he didn't know and spoke "get me some water please, a whole bucket of freezing cold water." He asked politely, and the thug nodded "yes boss." The thug said gruffly, Emmett smiled "thank you—" he trailed off, looking at Blaze who mouthed Jackson and smiled, Emmett turned back to the thug "thank you Jackson." He said with a smile and Jackson went for the bucket of water.
"I got his number." Emmett said to Blaze, who clapped him on the back enthusiastically.
"Wow boss, that's just great, are you gonna start seeing em'?" He asked and Emmett shrugged
"I hope so." Emmett said.
Rowan got up, heading back towards his apartment. Once he had reached it, he got to work making a bottle of milk for Smoke; the kitten needed to eat, and then Rowan would get to work doing what he needed to do.

The next day, Rowan went to the coffee shop as normal, this time in a t-shirt with a jacket unzipped over top, and jeans. He dressed casual most of the time, and today was no exception as he waited in line to order his coffee.
Emmett walked into the coffee shop, his outfit consisted of a light lilac colored button up long sleeve shirt, which was paired with black dress pants and light purple slip on vans.
He saw Rowan standing in front of him and stepped up to be beside him. "Hello, it's nice to see you again." He said honestly.
Rowan turned to look at him, shooting him a quick smile. "Hello." he greeted. "It's nice to see you as well." the young man looked just a little tired, though nothing out of the ordinary.
"How has your day been so far?" Emmet asked him, the corners of his lips upturning in the possibility of a smile.
"Mine was rather uneventful if I must say" he added softly, sliding his hands into his pockets to avoid Rowan noticing how sweaty they were.
Rowan smiled again. "It's been fine. Still pretty early for anything major to happen." he said, shrugging his shoulders a little bit.
"how's Smoke doing?" He asked quietly, when the line moved he stepped up in sync with Rowan.
"I would love to see pictures by the way" he added briskly.
"He's doing fine." Rowan replied. At the request for pictures, he laughed a little bit. "Sure, just let me find some." he pulled out his phone, scrolling through his gallery until he found some. He pulled the photos up, showing them to Emmet. Smoke was an adorable little grey tabby, with white paws.
Emmett gasped, then smiled "he. Is. Adorable." He said excitedly, "I would love to meet him someday" he said arching a dark eyebrow and smiling widely.
"Im sure Sidda would love him" he admitted, grinning then as they stepped up to the counter Emmett turned to Rowan and said "get whatever you want, I'll pay." He said and told the barista he wanted a peppermint flavored hot chocolate. "Since I got the honour of viewing cat pictures, your drink is on me" he repeated, smiling softly.
"He is." Rowan agreed, tucking his phone away again. At Emmett's offer of paying for the drink, he hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Alright. Uhm, white chocolate mocha." he had had that one before; it was one of his favorites.
Emmett paid for the two drinks with his credit card, stepping to the side to wait once the barista handed his card back to him, he pulled out his wallet and slipped his card in before placing his wallet back into his pocket.
"so I was thinking maybe we should hang out tonight or tomorrow, y'know when neither of us are working." He suggested sternly, trying to insert his confidence.
Rowan blinked at him, taking in Emmett's words and considering them for a long moment. "Sure, if you're sure about that." Emmett was attractive, and even if the other man was not interested romantically, it was always nice to make new friends.
Emmett smiled strongly, trying to put all of his confidence in his smile and the display of his emotions. "I'm definitely sure" he said with confidence, and grinned even wider. "Just let me know when you want to do it and i'm totally down" he said with a calm eased voice.
He nodded. "Alright." he said. "I'll have to check my calendar when I get home and make sure that I don't have anything, but tomorrow night would probably work."
"cool" Emmett said with a smile, his eyes bright with happiness, he ran a hand through his hair calmly, trying to seem like he wasn't to excited.
"cool" he repeated, "Are you taking your coffee to go?" He asked hopefully, hoping he wasn't so they could sit down and Emmett could have more time to talk to Rowan.
"No, I was planning on sitting down." he replied, giving Emmett a soft smile, then checking the counter to see if his coffee was ready yet.
Emmett nodded briskly and smiled as the barista called his name, so he took both his hot chocolate and Rowan's coffee and handed the coffee to Rowan gently.
Rowan took the coffee with another smile. "Thank, Emmett." he said, pulling the lid off so that he could blow on it and try to cool it down.
