“Just down the street,” Anya said. “This way.”
“Just down the street,” Anya said. “This way.”
(Crud, I thought I replied…)
Spencer took Anya's hand and placed it on his arm, giving her a warm smile as they walked.
"You know, you're my first girlfriend," he admitted, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
//no worries lol
“Well, you’re my first actual boyfriend,” Anya smiled, laying her head on his shoulder.
"First actual boyfriend?" Spencer asked, raising an eyebrow curiously.
Anya sighed. “I’ve been undercover as a high school student six times, college student, seven. I had to pretend.” She raised an eyebrow. “Teenage girls are weirdly obsessed with boys…”
Spencer chuckled, though he felt a twinge of jealousy at the thought of Anya having had other boyfriends. What if they saw her and wanted her back? He couldn't let that happen.
"Well, it's the same way for teenage boys. They've got strange obsessions with girls and many other things, such as sports."
“We are quite the cliche pair,” Anya laughed, slipping her hand in his. “And don’t worry. I was either blonde, a redhead, or brown haired with highlights. If any of the people I’d known on previous assignments saw me, they wouldn’t in a million years recognize me. We won’t be compromised.”
//wow I was intending that to be ‘Anya saw Spencer’s expression and thought he was worried that their identities would be revealed’ but I reread it and I failed.
(Holy crap, it did it here, too…
And now I don't remember what I wrote. Gosh dang it.)
"Well, that's good," Spencer murmured, turning to press a quick kiss to the top of her head. "Now, how much father to that cafe?"
//yeah. I’ve done that so many times
“A block,” Anya answered. “Not far. What’re you going to get?”
Spencer shrugged. "I'm not sure, yet. Maybe just a black coffee. You know, to match my soul."
//OMG i just typed that on the other one!! XD
“A glass of milk, then,” Anya laughed, steering him towards the entrance to the cafe. “C’mon.”
(HAHAHA!!!! XD No way!)
Spencer laughed as he opened the door for his girlfriend. "No, I was totally kidding. I actually hate black coffee."
Anya smiled. “So, what are you really going to get?” She gestured to the nonexistent line. “Better decide quickly.”
"Hm… What about the caramel mocha?" Spencer said, looking at the menu.
“Sounds good to me.” To the cashier, Anya said, “Two caramel mochas, please,” and handed her a ten dollar bill.
"Hey, I'm supposed to be paying," Spencer declared, nudging Anya. "I'm the one taking you on a date, after all."
“Good point,” Anya smiled, nodding at the cashier to complete the transaction. “I suppose you’ll just have to repay me later….”
"Mm, really?" Spencer asked, raising an eyebrow at her. "And how do you suggest I do that?"
“With fifteen dollars,” Anya suggested, accepting her receipt from the cashier and walking over to the pickup counter. “The five extra are for interest.”
Spencer laughed. "How about ten and a kiss?" he suggested.
Anya thought for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, deal.”
"I'll pay you back when we get home, then," Spencer said with a smile. There drinks were called, and he walked over to grab them, handing Anya one. "Unless you'd prefer that payment now? In front of everyone."
“Hmm,” Anya murmured, accepting the drink from Spencer. “Well, I hate to back out of what is essentially a dare, but we are holding spillable drinks…. ah, screw it.” She set her drink down on a nearby vacant table and kissed him.
Spencer, though surprised by her forwardness, smiled as he kissed her back. He set his drink down beside Anya's and lifted his hands to her face, cupping her cheeks gently.
The other customers watched or ignored them, and a few let out cheers and wolf whistles. Spencer laughed and pulled away, resting his forehead against Anya's.
"I was supposed to kiss you," he murmured with a smile.
“Same difference,” Anya smiled, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “Now where’s my ten bucks?”
