"Yeah…That was Valentina," Sebastian answered, only tensing more when Lionel reached for him. But he took Lionel's hand, laying against him as he tried his best to relax
“I’m sorry…” he murmured, letting Sebastian lean against him.
"Don't, please," Sebastian said softly, squeezing Lionel's hand a little subconsciously. "You didn't do anything, it wasn't your fault," he managed
“I’m just sorry you had to experience that,” he murmured, squeezing Sebastian’s hand back.
Sebastian felt his eyes begin to water, and he squeezed Lionel's hand tighter, mentally trying to fight back the sudden emotions threatening to overcome him. He couldn't do this, he couldn't break down, not in front of Lionel
Lionel brushed a tentative but comforting kiss across Sebastian’s temple, exhaling softly.
Sebastian sniffled and leaned back, head tipping back so he could rub at his eyes with his free hand, keeping any tears that were wanting to spill from managing to do so
“It’s okay to cry, you know,” Lionel said gently, soothingly.
"You wouldn't be saying that if you knew where some of my scars came from," Sebastian chuckled softly, though the noise was strained as he did his best to furiously keep the tears from falling
“I’m saying it now,” he said calmly, somehow managing to mask the sympathy that rose with the awful implications of what Sebastian had said.
"I…I'm fine, it's okay," Sebastian tried to say, though it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself now. He finally sat up properly again, though a tear or two did manage to fall down his cheeks before he could wipe them away
Lionel reached forward to cup Sebastian’s face in one hand. “Your sister is…. a real piece of work, isn’t she?”
Sebastian's lower lip quivered when Lionel's hand pressed against his face, keeping him from hiding again. He nodded, not trusting himself to speak out of fear he would break down
Lionel reached out with his other arm. “C’mere,” he beckoned softly, the need to hold and comfort his boyfriend rising.
Sebastian just gave a weak little nod, letting Lionel embrace him as he buried his face in the other's chest, trying to hide just how upset he really was. He hated this, hated feeling weak, hated putting Lionel through this
Lionel wrapped his arms tightly around Sebastian, slipping one hand into the hair at the back of his head to steady him. He said nothing, comforting Sebastian instead with his body, the way he held him, the way he brushed soft kisses across his temples.
Sebastian all but broke as soon as Lionel really embraced him. A soft sniffle escaped him, and before long there were tears streaming down his face, clouding his vision as he pressed closer to Lionel
Lionel let him cry, rocking him gently back and forth with his mouth pressed to the soft skin above his ear. "Shhhh…" he would murmur every now and then. "I'm right here…."
Sebastian sniffled, letting out a soft but choked sob as he clung at Lionel, grip tight as if he was afraid the other might let go. He squeezed his eyes shut, desperately trying not to be too loud
"Let it all out…" he murmured, rubbing slow, soothing circles into Sebastian's back with one hand.
Sebastian couldn't help another choked sob, curling up tightly on himself against Lionel as he finally let himself properly break
Lionel’s arms tightened protectively around Sebastian, as if he were shielding him from the rest of the world. And in a way, maybe he was..
Sebastian began to cry, really cry, his face buried against Lionel's chest as he trembled. It had been so long since he had really cried, just let it out like he needed to
And Lionel just held him through it all, squeezing him lightly every now and then, rubbing soothing circles into his back.
Sebastian cried softly for a while, his body shivering with each sob as he clung to Lionel like his life depended on it. And in some ways, it did, though he would never admit that
