Jack pushed himself up from the floor, worry lining his features, “We’re under attack?” He looked to Kade.
Jack pushed himself up from the floor, worry lining his features, “We’re under attack?” He looked to Kade.
"We are," Kade confirmed grimly, holding out his arms. A golden magic flashed around him, and golden armor formed over his body. "The worst kind, too."
Jack watched before he opened the door, holding it open, “Odds on winning the battle?” He bit his lip.
"Slim to none," Kade said, moving through the door, to the guard who stood waiting. Walking next to Jack, with the guard behind them, he said, "The Creols are a dangerous people, some of the most dangerous I've ever encountered. There are millions of them, and their army is the largest I've ever seen, and every single soldier has magic." Kade pursed his lips and turned to the guard. "How many men do I have right now?"
"Around four thousand, sire," the guard replied. "The bulk of the army is in Coraton, fighting the Mostros." He shook his head. "It was a trap."
"I know," Kade said. He shook his head. "We need to leave right away. Are the men ready?"
"Yes, sire. They await your command."
"Then we leave." Kade turned to Jack. "Stay, or come? Your choice."
“I’ll come,” He shrugged a shoulder, “More interesting then staying here by myself. Beside, can’t let you have all the fun.”
(This is his armor, except mostly gold, and with a dragon-like helmet, not a human face XD)
"Whatever you say." Kade, Jack and the guard all got outside to the castle courtyard, where three steeds awaited. Kade swung atop a midnight black stallion, armor clinking, and held out his hand. A sword appeared in his palm, and he gripped the hilt, smirking. He glanced down at Jack. "You sure you still want to go? You're unarmed."
Jack nodded, petting the nose of a white and brown horse standing next to him, “I have my magic. I’m not completely unarmed.” He replied. Probably not a good idea to go out with no armour but he couldn’t care less at this moment.
"Whatever you say." Kade raised an eyebrow and waited for Jack to mount. "Are you just going to stand there?" The black horse was anxious to move, sidestepping a bit and shifting around.
Jack rolled his eyes, quickly mounting the horse, "I was getting there, holy, why can;t I have a binding moment with the horse since no one else is gonna gimme one."
"Because people are dying." Kade did his best to keep his impatience out of his voice. "And an army is coming. We don't have time for a moment." He kicked his heels into the horse, and it shot forward, hooves clattering on stone, and the rest of the army followed.
"I'm coming I'm coming." Jack got his horse into motion, swiftly following Kade. This was a bad idea and he knew it.
Kade and his men crested a hill, and there the Creols were, waiting, it seemed, for him. Rage filled him, and he scowled. These people dared to attack his people. Kade may have been a shameless flirt and a bastard, but he loved his people.
"Go," he told his men sharply, and the small army charged down the hill, to the much larger, much more powerful, completely magic army.
Kade followed, sword blazing as his power slid into it. He let out a snarl and bent forward on his horse, urging it faster, and charged straight into the lines. But there were too many Creols to fight with his meager army. It was barely seconds into the battle, and already his forces were being overwhelmed.
He scowled. It was time to let out the beast, it seemed. His eyes glowed radiantly gold, so bright and blinding that it temporarily blinded those around him.
Jack had followed right behind Kade right into the battle, he sent his own power blasting out at anyone who dared come too close, keeping his steed steady. He had to squint and close his eyes when the light hit, being too close to Kade meant he was blinded along with the soldiers around him. At least they might now what was going on.
Muscles expanding, Kade grew, armor melding into scales, which then spread around his entire body and formed around his limbs. Wings burst from his back, and his face elongated, fangs and claws growing and extending. He burst into the air, and instead of a man, he was a great golden beast, of monsterous size. He raised his head and roared loudly, before swiping his enormous tail along the enemy lines, sending dozens of men flying.
Jack was star struck for a few moments. That was what Kade had been cursed to be? Apart from being deathly frightening and Jack made sure to move out the way so he didn't accidentally get caught up in the destruction that was being caused on the other side, it was sort of… majestic, in a way. He couldn't describe it.
Colored light shot toward Kade, the attempts of magic and spells, to detain him or stop him or kill him or something. It bounced off of his scales easily, rebounding to hit the sioldiers.
"Retreat!" Yelled Kade's general, to their soldiers. "His Highness has let the beast out! He can't distinguish the enemy from the friend. Run, men!"
Kade - or what had been Kade - opened his mouth and let out a stream of golden fire, so hot and bright it was like staring into the sun. Half the army in the enemy side vanished into ashes.
Jack turned around, following the other soldiers from Kade’s kingdom. Dying in a fiery blaze by the man that had saved him earlier seemed less then ideal.
The enormous dragon flew high into the air, then shot down, a golden blur, and landed on the ground with a thud, causing a shockwave that sent everyone - his men, and the enemy - flying. The creature swept his tail along the ground, knocking those closest to him into the air, where they landed at funny angles and were still. It roared, breathing out a blaze of golden flame, and started to pounce on the surrounding soldiers.
Jack had been the closest to Kade, and so he was very near to the beast. Kade lumbered over to Jack, looking at him with cruel eyes.
Jack had been unfortunate enough to be ones of those people to land at an angle that caused a pain to shoot though his leg. Ankle. He cursed, but his mind was quickly distracted because of the fucking dragon heading his way with a look that surely meant he was about to die. To say he was frightened was an understatement.
The creature stared at Jack for a moment, before something flashed in its golden eyes. Recognition, maybe? The dragon turned away and roared, so loud vibrations shook the ground. It pounced on several soldiers, blood and gore flying through the air, making quick work of killing the soldiers.
Until the commander. The man stood his ground, pointing at the monster and uttering harsh, loud words. A magenta light shot from his fingers onto the dragon's side, where it blew apart some of his scales. The dragon roared in pain and picked the commander up, flying into the air and off into the distance, both figures still fighting, until they vanished.
A hand was laid on Jack's shoulder. It was Kade's general. "Come, young sir," he said. "His Highness will be all right. We must get back to the palace."
Jack looked up at the general then back to Kade with a small nod, "Yeah… yeah I'm coming." He stood, limping back towards his horse.
