Amelia walked through the halls again, quite silent. Her advisor caught up to her, slightly out of breath.
"Princess Amelia, are you sure that you do not wish to marry Prince Liam?"
"Yes, that is correct. You are aware of my wishes."
"This could start a war, Princess! People could die!"
Amelia grabbed the advisor by the arm, ice slowly spreading over his skin. "I can kill you without an axe. If Liam wishes to go to war, let him." She let the advisor's arm go, the ice disappearing. "Do not forget that I shall be Queen tomorrow. Do not test my power."

She arrived at the kitchen, not seeing her mother anywhere. She came to the conclusion that she had come earlier than her own mother. She stood in her spot, near the door, when all of a sudden the girls started talking about Prince Liam.

"Princess Amelia refuses to marry Prince Liam! Lord knows what is going through her head. It's best for the kingdom." One servant says.

"He's so handsome," Another one swooned. "Anybody would be lucky to marry him."

The girls giggle and continue talking about the prince. Theodosia felt that if she stayed in that room for another minute, she would go insane. She started leaving the kitchen, but at that moment they turned to her.

"Theo! What do you think about Prince Liam? He's handsome, isn't he?" A servant named Elizabeth asked.

Theodosia turned quiet, not knowing what to say. In all honestly, she didn't see what the girls of the kingdom saw in the prince. He just seemed so selfish. And rude. "Um, sure?" Theodosia said at last.

Amelia stared at the advisor. "Well? That can't be all you're here for. Just to ridicule me in a justified decision? Speak."
"Yes, well. The chef is after you in the kitchen to test meals for tomorrow's coronation ball."
"Now? Very well."
"Oh! And the seamstress would like to see you to finalise changes on your coronation gown."
"Do I not already have one? The one I always wear?"
"Ah, but it is custom to wear a special gown on coronation."
"Fine. Tell her I shall meet her in my chambers once I have finished business with the chef."
"As you wish, Princess."
With that, Amelia turned on her heels and headed towards the kitchen.

They gasped. "Seriously, is that all you have to say?"
"You are the worst, Theo." One said as they rolled their eyes.
Theodosia rolled her eyes and looked at the group. "Shouldn't all of you be working?"
At that moment, Theodosia's mother entered the room. "Shouldn't you be all working?" No one responded. "Get to work!"
They nodded and some left the kitchen while others stayed.

Amelia walked through the halls slowly, nose in her book. She'd been living in this castle for 21 years and knew her way around, to the point of not needing to look where she was going. She was quiet when reading a good book, so engrossed in the story that she rarely made a sound. She turned around to push against the door to the kitchen, walking in backwards. Once in, she reluctantly closed her book and tucked it safely into a pocket in her dress.

Theodosia looked as Amelia walked into the kitchen backward. She let out a small giggle and turned around as the royal chef came out of the back of the kitchen.

"Princess Amelia, right on time." He turns to the others. "Could you lead her to where I have prepared the meals?"
The girls nodded and the chef disappears into the back of the kitchen once again.

When Amelia spots Theodosia, a blush crawls over her cheeks again. In a moment of hesitation, she created a small ice rose in the palm of her hand. Following after the girls, she left it on the bench beside Theodosia.

The first thing that Amelia noticed when she walked into the room holding the food was that there was too much. "Why is there so much food? This is a waste! There's no possibility that this will all be eaten tomorrow!"

(btw I'm hanging out with my friend today and then he's coming home with me for a sleepover and then I have my party tomorrow so sorry if I'm a bit inactive. I don't have to leave for about an hour though)

Theodosia was about to sit down on the bench that was beside her but then noticed small ice rose on the bench. She picked it up and looked at it. "Who would have-" She stopped and laughed at herself as a small blush crawls over her cheeks. She sighs happily and sits down.

The Chef looked at the food then at the princess. "Princess, we can't be so sure of that. We never know when one of the guests might want another round of food." He said as he shuddered. "Anyways, with which meal would you like to start?"

"Well I suppose you're right. If there is any leftover food, donate it to the village. They need it more than the castle's compost. However, I would like to start on the chicken. It has always been my favourite dish of yours."
The chef took Amelia towards the meal of choice, which Amelia immediately took a bite of. She melted internally from bliss. "Deliciously perfect, as always."

The chef smiled at both of Amelia's comment. It didn't matter how many time one would complement I'm on his cooking, he couldn't help but break out into a smile. He shook his head and looked at the princess.
"Of course, princess. I'll make sure to donate any remaining food to the village after the coronation." He paused. "I'm glad."

Amelia licked the flavour off her fingers, then delicately cleaned them on a serviette. She turned back to the chef, smiling. "Well, I trust that all of this food tastes just as exquisite. Now, if you don't mind, I need to go visit the seamstress about my coronation dress. Please excuse me."
While exiting, Amelia spotted Theodosia. In a sudden act, she walked over. "Theodosia, would you like to accompany me to my dress fitting?"

@spacebluelily language

She looked up from the ice rose she was still admiring. She looked confused for a moment, not quite registering the question Amelia had just asked her. The moment of confusion passed quite quickly however, because the next moment she was standing up and patting her dress.
"Of course, Amelia," Theodosia said as she gave her a warm smile.

Amelia smiled and began to walk into the hall, aware that Theodosia would be following her. She paused, waiting for the other girl to catch up.
"Theodosia? Do you…do you think I'll be a good queen?"

@spacebluelily language

Theodosia quickly caught up with Amelia, and she stopped in tracks the moment Amelia asked her a question.
"Of course I do. I know you'll make a great queen, despite what some people in the castle staff say. . ." She said as her sentence trailed off. She shook her head and smiled. "With you in charge, I know you're going to do being great things."

(do you wanna do a time skip to the coronation or not yet?)

Amelia blushed and smiled, the words of Theodosia meaning a lot to her. "Thank you. You're probably the first person to actually say that to me. My parents always said that I wouldn't be able to run the kingdom and that I should leave it to man. And most of my advisors say it because they're scared that I'll freeze them."

@spacebluelily language

(Yeah, time skip to the coronation.)

Theodosia laughed a bit and smiled back at Amelia. "Yeah, well they're wrong. Men aren't the only ones who can run the kingdom. This kingdom has had some great queens, and I'm positive that you'll be amongst them. Most of your advisors are probably already scared and knowing that you can freeze them. . .well I imagine they must be living a nightmare. Trying their best not to anger you. . ."

Amelia paced outside the throne room, her dress trailing behind her. She was nervous to become queen, worried that she wouldn't be good enough. She stopped and looked through the gap in the doors, seeing the crown that would truly name her as queen. She knew that many of the kingdom's villagers didn't gree with her not marrying, and she was scared that she would be a bad queen because of that.

@spacebluelily language

Theodosia sighed when she saw Amelia pacing outside the throne room. She quietly approached her and put a hand on her shoulder. "It's all going to be okay. The people out there will love you. Not all of them, but that's not what's important. I believe you're going to be a great queen."

Amelia jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, but relaxed when she saw that it was Theodosia. She began to take deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She nodded, making it clear that she was ready.
The doors were opened, and Amelia began to walk down the center. All eyes were on her, but she mostly ignored them and kept walking.

@spacebluelily language

Theodosia smiled as Amelia began walking down the center. She stayed near the entrance of the throne room, hidden in sight from everyone else in the room. She knew she had things to do, but in all honestly, she wanted to see the coronation more than doing work.

Amelia came to a stop in front of the one who would crown her, beside the case that held her crown. She took a deep breath as the crown was taken out, then kneeled for it to be placed on her head.
